2012-12-07drivers/net: fix up function prototypes after __dev* removalsGreg Kroah-Hartman1-2/+1
The __dev* removal patches for the network drivers ended up messing up the function prototypes for a bunch of drivers. This patch fixes all of them back up to be properly aligned. Bonus is that this almost removes 100 lines of code, always a nice surprise. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-12-03net/sun: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton1-3/+3
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. Signed-off-by: Bill Pemberton <wfp5p@virginia.edu> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2012-10-07drivers/net/ethernet/sun/sungem.c: fix error return codePeter Senna Tschudin1-1/+2
The function gem_init_one() return 0 for success and negative value for most of its internal tests failures. There is one exception that is error case going to err_out_free_consistent:. For this error case, the function abort its success execution path, but returns non negative value, making it difficult for a caller function to notice the error. This patch fixes the error case that do not return negative value. This was found by Coccinelle, but the code change was made by hand. This patch is not robot generated. A simplified version of the semantic match that finds this problem is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> ( if@p1 (\(ret < 0\|ret != 0\)) { ... return ret; } | ret@p1 = 0 ) ... when != ret = e1 when != &ret *if(...) { ... when != ret = e2 when forall return ret; } // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Peter Senna Tschudin <peter.senna@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2012-07-10sungem: remove unnecessary setting of skb->devJon Mason1-1/+0
skb->dev is being unnecessarily set by the driver's skb alloc routine (which is called in init and during rx). It is already being set to the proper value when eth_type_trans is called on packet receive, and the skb->dev is not referenced anywhere else in the code. 2012-05-07Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/netDavid S. Miller1-1/+1
Conflicts: drivers/net/ethernet/intel/e1000e/param.c drivers/net/wireless/iwlwifi/iwl-agn-rx.c drivers/net/wireless/iwlwifi/iwl-trans-pcie-rx.c drivers/net/wireless/iwlwifi/iwl-trans.h Resolved the iwlwifi conflict with mainline using 3-way diff posted by John Linville and Stephen Rothwell. In 'net' we added a bug fix to make iwlwifi report a more accurate skb->truesize but this conflicted with RX path changes that happened meanwhile in net-next. In e1000e a conflict arose in the validation code for settings of adapter->itr. 'net-next' had more sophisticated logic so that logic was used. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-05-03sungem: Fix WakeOnLanGerard Lledo1-1/+1
WakeOnLan was broken in this driver because gp->asleep_wol is a 1-bit bitfield and it was being assigned WAKE_MAGIC, which is (1 << 5). gp->asleep_wol remains 0 and the machine never wakes up. Fixed by casting gp->wake_on_lan to bool. Tested on an iBook G4. Signed-off-by: Gerard Lledo <gerard.lledo@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-04-21sungem: use mdelay instead of udelay where necessaryArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
Some architectures like ARM cannot handle large numbers as arguments to udelay, so the drivers should use mdelay when delaying for multiple miliseconds. 2012-03-28Remove all #inclusions of asm/system.hDavid Howells1-1/+0
Remove all #inclusions of asm/system.h preparatory to splitting and killing it. Performed with the following command: perl -p -i -e 's!^#\s*include\s*<asm/system[.]h>.*\n!!' `grep -Irl '^#\s*include\s*<asm/system[.]h>' *` Signed-off-by: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com>
2012-01-31drivers/net: Remove alloc_etherdev error messagesJoe Perches1-1/+0
alloc_etherdev has a generic OOM/unable to alloc message. Remove the duplicative messages after alloc_etherdev calls. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-11-14Sweep additional floors of strcpy in .get_drvinfo routinesRick Jones1-3/+3
Perform another round of floor sweeping, converting the .get_drvinfo routines of additional drivers from strcpy to strlcpy along with some conversion of sprintf to snprintf. Signed-off-by: Rick Jones <rick.jones2@hp.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-10-19net: add skb frag size accessorsEric Dumazet1-2/+2
To ease skb->truesize sanitization, its better to be able to localize all references to skb frags size. Define accessors : skb_frag_size() to fetch frag size, and skb_frag_size_{set|add|sub}() to manipulate it. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-10-06net: use DMA_x_DEVICE and dma_mapping_error with skb_frag_dma_mapIan Campbell1-1/+1
When I converted some drivers from pci_map_page to skb_frag_dma_map I neglected to convert PCI_DMA_xDEVICE into DMA_x_DEVICE and pci_dma_mapping_error into dma_mapping_error. Signed-off-by: Ian Campbell <ian.campbell@citrix.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2011-08-16net: Fix sungem_phy sharing.David S. Miller1-1/+1
Since sungem_phy is used by multiple, unrelated, drivers make it build as a real module under drivers/net. depmod will pick up the symbol dependency and make sure sungem_phy.ko gets loaded any time sungem.ko or spider_net.ko is loaded. Tested-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-08-14net: Move sungem_phy.h under include/linuxDavid S. Miller1-1/+1
Fixes build failures of the spider_net driver because it tries to use a convoluted path to include this header. Reported-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-08-11cassini/niu/sun*: Move the Sun driversJeff Kirsher1-0/+3049
Moves the Sun drivers into drivers/net/ethernet/sun/ and make the necessary Kconfig and Makefile changes. Oliver Hartkopp <socketcan@hartkopp.net> suggested removing the sun* prefix on the driver names. This type of change I will leave up to the driver maintainers.
