2017-06-16networking: make skb_push & __skb_push return void pointersJohannes Berg1-1/+1
It seems like a historic accident that these return unsigned char *, and in many places that means casts are required, more often than not. A common pattern with skb_put() is to just want to memcpy() some data into the new space, introduce skb_put_data() for this. 2017-05-08format-security: move static strings to constKees Cook1-1/+2
While examining output from trial builds with -Wformat-security enabled, many strings were found that should be defined as "const", or as a char array instead of char pointer. This makes some static analysis easier, by producing fewer false positives. As these are all trivial changes, it seemed best to put them all in a single patch rather than chopping them up per maintainer. None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next.
