2015-10-21net: mdio-gpio: move platform data headerVivien Didelot1-1/+1
This header file only contains the platform data structure definition, so move it to the include/linux/platform_data/ directory. Signed-off-by: Vivien Didelot <vivien.didelot@savoirfairelinux.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2015-09-21net: phy: mdio-gpio: Fix module autoload for OF platform driverLuis de Bethencourt1-0/+1
This platform driver has a OF device ID table but the OF module alias information is not created so module autoloading won't work. Signed-off-by: Luis de Bethencourt <luisbg@osg.samsung.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2015-05-14mdio-gpio: Propagate mii_bus.phy_ignore_ta_maskBert Vermeulen1-0/+1

2015-05-10net: mdio-gpio: Allow for unspecified bus idBert Vermeulen1-1/+4
When the bus id was supplied via a struct platform_device, the driver wasn't handling -1 to mean an unspecified id of the only instance of this driver, as the platform spec requires. 2015-04-24net: mdio-gpio: support access that may sleepVivien Didelot1-5/+9
Some systems using mdio-gpio may use gpio on message based busses, which require sleeping (e.g. gpio from an I2C I/O expander). Since this driver does not use IRQ handler, it is safe to use the _cansleep suffixed gpio accessors. Signed-off-by: Vivien Didelot <vivien.didelot@savoirfairelinux.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2014-01-16drivers/net: delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>Paul Gortmaker1-1/+0
None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. This covers everything under drivers/net except for wireless, which has been submitted separately. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2012-12-07drivers/net: fix up function prototypes after __dev* removalsGreg Kroah-Hartman1-2/+2
The __dev* removal patches for the network drivers ended up messing up the function prototypes for a bunch of drivers. This patch fixes all of them back up to be properly aligned. Bonus is that this almost removes 100 lines of code, always a nice surprise. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-12-03net/phy: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton1-5/+5

2012-11-19of/net/mdio-gpio: Fix pdev->id issue when using devicetrees.Srinivas Kandagatla1-4/+7
When the mdio-gpio driver is probed via device trees, the platform device id is set as -1, However the pdev->id is re-used as bus-id for while creating mdio gpio bus. So For device tree case the mdio-gpio bus name appears as "gpio-ffffffff" where as for non-device tree case the bus name appears as "gpio-<bus-num>" Which means the bus_id is fixed in device tree case, so we can't have two mdio gpio buses via device trees. Assigning a logical bus number via device tree solves the problem and the bus name is much consistent with non-device tree bus name. Without this patch 1. we can't support two mdio-gpio buses via device trees. 2. we should always pass gpio-ffffffff as bus name to phy_connect, very different to non-device tree bus name. So, setting up the bus_id via aliases from device tree is the right solution and other drivers do similar thing. 2012-08-30of/mdio-gpio: Simplify the way device tree support is implemented.Srinivas Kandagatla1-92/+40
This patch cleans up the way device tree support is added in mdio-gpio driver. I found lot of code duplication which is not necessary. Also strangely a new platform driver was also introduced for device tree support. All this forced me to do this cleanup patch. After this patch, the driver probe checks the of_node pointer to get the data from device tree. Signed-off-by: Srinivas Kandagatla <srinivas.kandagatla@st.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2011-11-15mdio-gpio: Add reset functionality to mdio-gpio driver(v2).Srinivas Kandagatla1-0/+1
This patch adds phy reset functionality to mdio-gpio driver. Now mdio_gpio_platform_data has new member as function pointer which can be filled at the bsp level for a callback from phy infrastructure. Also the mdio-bitbang driver fills-in the reset function of mii_bus structure. Without this patch the bsp level code has to takecare of the reseting PHY's on the bus, which become bit hacky for every bsp and phy-infrastructure is ignored aswell. Get rid of users of of_platform_driver in drivers/net. The of_platform_{,un}register_driver functions are going away, so the users need to be converted to using the platform_bus_type directly. Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>
2010-08-06of/device: Replace struct of_device with struct platform_deviceGrant Likely1-2/+2
of_device is just an alias for platform_device, so remove it entirely. Also replace to_of_device() with to_platform_device() and update comment blocks. This patch was initially generated from the following semantic patch, and then edited by hand to pick up the bits that coccinelle didn't catch. @@ @@ -struct of_device +struct platform_device Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Reviewed-by: David S. 2010-05-22of: Remove duplicate fields from of_platform_driverGrant Likely1-2/+5
.name, .match_table and .owner are duplicated in both of_platform_driver and device_driver. This patch is a removes the extra copies from struct of_platform_driver and converts all users to the device_driver members. This patch is a pretty mechanical change. The usage model doesn't change and if any drivers have been missed, or if anything has been fixed up incorrectly, then it will fail with a compile time error, and the fixup will be trivial. This patch looks big and scary because it touches so many files, but it should be pretty safe. 2010-05-18of: Always use 'struct device.of_node' to get device node pointer.Grant Likely1-3/+3
The following structure elements duplicate the information in 'struct device.of_node' and so are being eliminated. This patch makes all readers of these elements use device.of_node instead. 2009-11-17net: fix mdio section mismatch warningStephen Rothwell1-1/+1
This fixes the following warning: WARNING: drivers/net/phy/built-in.o(.devexit.text+0x70): Section mismatch in reference from the function .mdio_gpio_bus_destroy() to the function .devinit.text:.mdio_gpio_bus_deinit() The function __devexit .mdio_gpio_bus_destroy() references a function __devinit .mdio_gpio_bus_deinit(). This is often seen when error handling in the exit function uses functionality in the init path. The fix is often to remove the __devinit annotation of .mdio_gpio_bus_deinit() so it may be used outside an init section. 2009-10-14net: Fix OF platform drivers coldplug/hotplug when compiled as modulesAnton Vorontsov1-0/+1
