2015-12-03team: fill-up LAG changeupper info struct and pass it alongJiri Pirko1-0/+1
Initialize netdev_lag_upper_info structure by TX type according to current team mode and pass it along via netdev_master_upper_dev_link. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-02-04team: ab: set active port option as changed when port is leavingJiri Pirko1-1/+12
In case port is leaving the team, set the option "activeport" as changed so the change can be properly propagated to userspace Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@resnulli.us> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-07-17team: add netpoll supportJiri Pirko1-2/+1
It's done in very similar way this is done in bonding and bridge. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@resnulli.us> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-06-20team: do RCU update path fixupsJiri Pirko1-2/+6
Use rcu_access_pointer and rcu_dereference_protected to access RCU pointer by updater. Use RCU_INIT_POINTER for NULL assignment of RCU pointer. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jpirko@redhat.com> Acked-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-06-20team: Revert previous two changes.David S. Miller1-5/+2
I didn't notice that these were superceded by a more uptodate version of the changes. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-06-20team: use rcu_access_pointer to access RCU pointer by writerJiri Pirko1-2/+5

2012-06-19team: use rcu_dereference_bh() in tx pathJiri Pirko1-1/+1
Should be used instead of rcu_dereference, since rcu_read_lock_bh is held. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jpirko@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2012-04-11team: ab: walk through port list non-rcuJiri Pirko1-1/+1
Since team->lock is being held, _rcu variant make no sense. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jpirko@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-04-11team: add support for per-port optionsJiri Pirko1-8/+6
This patch allows to create per-port options. That becomes handy for all sorts of stuff, for example for userspace driven link-state, 802.3ad implementation and so on. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jpirko@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-11-23net: treewide use of RCU_INIT_POINTEREric Dumazet1-1/+1
rcu_assign_pointer(ptr, NULL) can be safely replaced by RCU_INIT_POINTER(ptr, NULL) (old rcu_assign_pointer() macro was testing the NULL value and could omit the smp_wmb(), but this had to be removed because of compiler warnings) Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-11-16team: replicate options on registerJiri Pirko1-3/+2
Since multiple team instances are putting defined options into their option list, during register each option must be cloned before added into list. This resolves uncool memory corruptions when using multiple teams. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jpirko@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-11-13net: introduce ethernet teaming deviceJiri Pirko1-0/+137
This patch introduces new network device called team. It supposes to be very fast, simple, userspace-driven alternative to existing bonding driver. Userspace library called libteam with couple of demo apps is available here: https://github.com/jpirko/libteam Note it's still in its dipers atm. team<->libteam use generic netlink for communication. That and rtnl suppose to be the only way to configure team device, no sysfs etc. Python binding of libteam was recently introduced. Daemon providing arpmon/miimon active-backup functionality will be introduced shortly. All what's necessary is already implemented in kernel team driver. v7->v8: - check ndo_ndo_vlan_rx_[add/kill]_vid functions before calling them. - use dev_kfree_skb_any() instead of dev_kfree_skb() v6->v7: - transmit and receive functions are not checked in hot paths. That also resolves memory leak on transmit when no port is present v5->v6: - changed couple of _rcu calls to non _rcu ones in non-readers v4->v5: - team_change_mtu() uses team->lock while travesing though port list - mac address changes are moved completely to jurisdiction of userspace daemon. This way the daemon can do FOM1, FOM2 and possibly other weird things with mac addresses. Only round-robin mode sets up all ports to bond's address then enslaved. - Extended Kconfig text v3->v4: - remove redundant synchronize_rcu from __team_change_mode() - revert "set and clear of mode_ops happens per pointer, not per byte" - extend comment of function __team_change_mode() v2->v3: - team_change_mtu() uses rcu version of list traversal to unwind - set and clear of mode_ops happens per pointer, not per byte - port hashlist changed to be embedded into team structure - error branch in team_port_enter() does cleanup now - fixed rtln->rtnl v1->v2: - modes are made as modules. Makes team more modular and extendable. - several commenters' nitpicks found on v1 were fixed - several other bugs were fixed. - note I ignored Eric's comment about roundrobin port selector as Eric's way may be easily implemented as another mode (mode "random") in future.
