2016-09-03hostap: Use memdup_user() to reuse codeRajan Vaja1-14/+6
Fix coccicheck warning which recommends to use memdup_user() instead of reimplementing its code. This patch fixes below coccicheck warnings: drivers/net/wireless/intersil/hostap/hostap_ioctl.c:3044:9-16: WARNING opportunity for memdup_user drivers/net/wireless/intersil/hostap/hostap_ioctl.c:3806:9-16: WARNING opportunity for memdup_user Signed-off-by: Rajan Vaja <rajan.vaja@gmail.com> Reviewed-by: Julian Calaby <julian.calaby@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>

2016-07-06nl80211: support beacon report scanningAvraham Stern1-2/+10
Beacon report radio measurement requires reporting observed BSSs on the channels specified in the beacon request. If the measurement mode is set to passive or active, it requires actually performing a scan (passive or active, accordingly), and reporting the time that the scan was started and the time each beacon/probe was received (both in terms of TSF of the BSS of the requesting AP). If the request mode is table, this information is optional. In addition, the radio measurement request specifies the channel dwell time for the measurement. In order to use scan for beacon report when the mode is active or passive, add a parameter to scan request that specifies the channel dwell time, and add scan start time and beacon received time to scan results information. Supporting beacon report is required for Multi Band Operation (MBO). 2016-04-26prism54: isl_38xx: Replace 'struct timeval'Tina Ruchandani1-17/+18
'struct timeval' uses a 32-bit seconds field which will overflow in year 2038 and beyond. This patch is part of a larger effort to remove all instances of 'struct timeval' from the kernel and replace them with 64-bit timekeeping variables. The patch also fixes the debug printf specifier to avoid the seconds value being truncated. The patch was build-tested / debugged by removing the "if VERBOSE > SHOW_ERROR_MESSAGES" guards. 2016-04-12cfg80211: remove enum ieee80211_bandJohannes Berg7-27/+27
This enum is already perfectly aliased to enum nl80211_band, and the only reason for it is that we get IEEE80211_NUM_BANDS out of it. There's no really good reason to not declare the number of bands in nl80211 though, so do that and remove the cfg80211 one. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2016-03-19Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-nextLinus Torvalds1-5/+10
Pull networking updates from David Miller: "Highlights: 1) Support more Realtek wireless chips, from Jes Sorenson. 2) New BPF types for per-cpu hash and arrap maps, from Alexei Starovoitov. 3) Make several TCP sysctls per-namespace, from Nikolay Borisov. 4) Allow the use of SO_REUSEPORT in order to do per-thread processing of incoming TCP/UDP connections. The muxing can be done using a BPF program which hashes the incoming packet. From Craig Gallek. 5) Add a multiplexer for TCP streams, to provide a messaged based interface. BPF programs can be used to determine the message boundaries. From Tom Herbert. 6) Add 802.1AE MACSEC support, from Sabrina Dubroca. 7) Avoid factorial complexity when taking down an inetdev interface with lots of configured addresses. We were doing things like traversing the entire address less for each address removed, and flushing the entire netfilter conntrack table for every address as well. 8) Add and use SKB bulk free infrastructure, from Jesper Brouer. 9) Allow offloading u32 classifiers to hardware, and implement for ixgbe, from John Fastabend. 10) Allow configuring IRQ coalescing parameters on a per-queue basis, from Kan Liang. 11) Extend ethtool so that larger link mode masks can be supported. From David Decotigny. 12) Introduce devlink, which can be used to configure port link types (ethernet vs Infiniband, etc.), port splitting, and switch device level attributes as a whole. From Jiri Pirko. 13) Hardware offload support for flower classifiers, from Amir Vadai. 14) Add "Local Checksum Offload". Basically, for a tunneled packet the checksum of the outer header is 'constant' (because with the checksum field filled into the inner protocol header, the payload of the outer frame checksums to 'zero'), and we can take advantage of that in various ways. 2016-02-06hostap: avoid uninitialized variable use in hfa384x_get_ridArnd Bergmann1-5/+10
The driver reads a value from hfa384x_from_bap(), which may fail, and then assigns the value to a local variable. gcc detects that in in the failure case, the 'rlen' variable now contains uninitialized data: In file included from ../drivers/net/wireless/intersil/hostap/hostap_pci.c:220:0: drivers/net/wireless/intersil/hostap/hostap_hw.c: In function 'hfa384x_get_rid': drivers/net/wireless/intersil/hostap/hostap_hw.c:842:5: warning: 'rec' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Wmaybe-uninitialized] if (le16_to_cpu(rec.len) == 0) { This restructures the function as suggested by Russell King, to make it more readable and get more reliable error handling, by handling each failure mode using a goto. 2015-12-11prism54: off by one BUG_ON() testDan Carpenter1-1/+1
This code was supposed to trigger a BUG() if we truncate the output but it's off by one so it allows one character to be truncated. Really drivers shouldn't call BUG_ON() and especially for something minor like this so I've changed it to a WARN_ON().
