2015-06-15rtlwifi: fix tm_trigger usageHans Ulli Kroll7-29/+21
While working on getting my rtl8821au driver in pretty shape for inclusion, it is dicosvered that the tm_trigger flag is used only for the first device using this driver. This flag handles the thermal power management in the hardware. To change this add a entry in sttruct rtl_dm, so each device can handle is separately. 2015-06-10mac80211: convert HW flags to unsigned long bitmapJohannes Berg1-12/+10
As we're running out of hardware capability flags pretty quickly, convert them to use the regular test_bit() style unsigned long bitmaps. This introduces a number of helper functions/macros to set and to test the bits, along with new debugfs code. The occurrences of an explicit __clear_bit() are intentional, the drivers were never supposed to change their supported bits on the fly. We should investigate changing this to be a per-frame flag. 2015-05-26rtlwifi: Remove the clear interrupt routine from all driversVincent Fann5-83/+0
Several of these drivers have there TX randomly blocked for 3~5 seconds while measuring tx throughput (iperf). The root couse happens in rtl_pci_flush(). The function uses a while-loop to wait for TX queue length to decrease to 0. The TX queue length counts the number of packets that are queued in the driver. The driver relys on the TX OK interrupt to return skb and reduce TX queue length. The interrupt subroutine disables interupts, reads the interrupt registers, and then clears the registers in the beginning of _rtl_pci_interrupt(). After all interupts process are finished, the driver invokes enable_interrupt() to enable interupts. This behavior is normal for an interrupt subroutine. But enable_interrupt() invokes clear_interrupt() again. This unexpected interrupt clearing may cleari me fresh TX OK interrupts. These missing interrupts cause TX queue length to never reduce to 0i, which causes rtl_pci_flush() to be stuck in unterminated while-loop. This patch removes clear_interrupt() in enable_interrupt() to avoid this behavior. 2015-05-13Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/netDavid S. Miller1-1/+1
Four minor merge conflicts: 1) qca_spi.c renamed the local variable used for the SPI device from spi_device to spi, meanwhile the spi_set_drvdata() call got moved further up in the probe function. 2) Two changes were both adding new members to codel params structure, and thus we had overlapping changes to the initializer function. 3) 'net' was making a fix to sk_release_kernel() which is completely removed in 'net-next'. 4) In net_namespace.c, the rtnl_net_fill() call for GET operations had the command value fixed, meanwhile 'net-next' adjusted the argument signature a bit. 2015-04-28rtlwifi: rtl8192cu: Fix kernel deadlockLarry Finger1-1/+1
The USB mini-driver in rtlwifi, which is used by rtl8192cu, issues a call to usb_control_msg() with a timeout value of 0. In some instances where the interface is shutting down, this infinite wait results in a CPU deadlock. A one second timeout fixes this problem without affecting any normal operations. 2015-04-24mac80211: remove support for IFF_PROMISCJohannes Berg1-2/+1

Pull networking updates from David Miller: 1) Add BQL support to via-rhine, from Tino Reichardt. 2) Integrate SWITCHDEV layer support into the DSA layer, so DSA drivers can support hw switch offloading. From Floria Fainelli. 3) Allow 'ip address' commands to initiate multicast group join/leave, from Madhu Challa. 4) Many ipv4 FIB lookup optimizations from Alexander Duyck. 5) Support EBPF in cls_bpf classifier and act_bpf action, from Daniel Borkmann. 6) Remove the ugly compat support in ARP for ugly layers like ax25, rose, etc. And use this to clean up the neigh layer, then use it to implement MPLS support. All from Eric Biederman. 7) Support L3 forwarding offloading in switches, from Scott Feldman. 8) Collapse the LOCAL and MAIN ipv4 FIB tables when possible, to speed up route lookups even further. From Alexander Duyck. 9) Many improvements and bug fixes to the rhashtable implementation, from Herbert Xu and Thomas Graf. In particular, in the case where an rhashtable user bulk adds a large number of items into an empty table, we expand the table much more sanely. 10) Don't make the tcp_metrics hash table per-namespace, from Eric Biederman. 11) Extend EBPF to access SKB fields, from Alexei Starovoitov. 12) Split out new connection request sockets so that they can be established in the main hash table. Much less false sharing since hash lookups go direct to the request sockets instead of having to go first to the listener then to the request socks hashed underneath. From Eric Dumazet. 13) Add async I/O support for crytpo AF_ALG sockets, from Tadeusz Struk. 14) Support stable privacy address generation for RFC7217 in IPV6. From Hannes Frederic Sowa. 15) Hash network namespace into IP frag IDs, also from Hannes Frederic Sowa. 16) Convert PTP get/set methods to use 64-bit time, from Richard Cochran. * git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next: (1816 commits) fm10k: Bump driver version to 0.15.2 fm10k: corrected VF multicast update fm10k: mbx_update_max_size does not drop all oversized messages fm10k: reset head instead of calling update_max_size fm10k: renamed mbx_tx_dropped to mbx_tx_oversized fm10k: update xcast mode before synchronizing multicast addresses fm10k: start service timer on probe fm10k: fix function header comment fm10k: comment next_vf_mbx flow fm10k: don't handle mailbox events in iov_event path and always process mailbox fm10k: use separate workqueue for fm10k driver fm10k: Set PF queues to unlimited bandwidth during virtualization fm10k: expose tx_timeout_count as an ethtool stat fm10k: only increment tx_timeout_count in Tx hang path fm10k: remove extraneous "Reset interface" message fm10k: separate PF only stats so that VF does not display them fm10k: use hw->mac.max_queues for stats fm10k: only show actual queues, not the maximum in hardware fm10k: allow creation of VLAN on default vid fm10k: fix unused warnings ...

2015-04-07rtlwifi: Add encryption argument in rtl_is_special_data for checking DHCP packet.Taehee Yoo4-6/+11
rtl8192cu can't connect to AP after physical reconnect. according to dmesg, that problem's cause was DHCP timeout. rtl_is_special_data function checks packet type for adjusting rate. when that function is called from _rtl_rc_get_highest_rix, it can not calculate offset correctly. so i add argument is_encn in rtl_is_special_data. is_enc variable mean that iv header is added in skb parameter. i test only rtl8192cu chipset. because i doesn't have other rtlwifi chipsets. 2015-03-22rtlwifi: Fix IOMMU mapping leak in AP modeLarry Finger1-1/+11
Transmission of an AP beacon does not call the TX interrupt service routine, which usually does the cleanup. Instead, cleanup is handled in a tasklet completion routine. Unfortunately, this routine has a serious bug in that it does not release the DMA mapping before it frees the skb, thus one IOMMU mapping is leaked for each beacon. The test system failed with no free IOMMU mapping slots approximately one hour after hostapd was used to start an AP. Conflicts: drivers/net/ethernet/emulex/benet/be_main.c net/core/sysctl_net_core.c net/ipv4/inet_diag.c The be_main.c conflict resolution was really tricky. The conflict hunks generated by GIT were very unhelpful, to say the least. It split functions in half and moved them around, when the real actual conflict only existed solely inside of one function, that being be_map_pci_bars(). So instead, to resolve this, I checked out be_main.c from the top of net-next, then I applied the be_main.c changes from 'net' since the last time I merged. And this worked beautifully. The inet_diag.c and sysctl_net_core.c conflicts were simple overlapping changes, and were easily to resolve. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2015-03-03rtlwifi: Improve handling of IPv6 packetsLarry Finger1-2/+5
Routine rtl_is_special_data() is supposed to identify packets that need to use a low bit rate so that the probability of successful transmission is high. The current version has a bug that causes all IPv6 packets to be labelled as special, with a corresponding low rate of transmission. A complete fix will be quite intrusive, but until that is available, all IPv6 packets are identified as regular. This patch also removes a magic number.
