2012-06-02e1000e: fix Rapid Start Technology support for i217Bruce Allan1-9/+9
The definition of I217_PROXY_CTRL must use the BM_PHY_REG() macro instead of the PHY_REG() macro for PHY page 800 register 70 since it is for a PHY register greater than the maximum allowed by the latter macro, and fix a typo setting the I217_MEMPWR register in e1000_suspend_workarounds_ich8lan. Also for clarity, rename a few defines as bit definitions instead of masks. 2012-06-018139cp/8139too: terminate the eeprom access with the right opmodeJason Wang2-2/+2
Currently, we terminate the eeprom access through clearing the CS by: RTL_W8 (Cfg9346, ~EE_CS); or writeb (~EE_CS, ee_addr); This would left the eeprom into "Config. Register Write Enable:" state which is not expcted as the highest two bits were set to 0x11 ( expected is the "Normal" mode (0x00)). 2012-05-31net/mlx4_en: Fix improper use of "port" parameter in mlx4_en_eventJack Morgenstein1-5/+7
Port is used as an array index before we know if that is proper. For example, in the catas event case, port is zero; however, the port index should lie in the range (1..2). Fix this by using 'port' only in the events where it is of interest. Test for port out of range in the default (unhandled event) case, and do not output a message if it is not an ethernet port. 2012-05-31net/mlx4_core: Fix number of EQs used in ICM initialisationMarcel Apfelbaum2-15/+11
In SRIOV mode, the number of EQs used when computing the total ICM size was incorrect. To fix this, we do the following: 1. We add a new structure to mlx4_dev, mlx4_phys_caps, to contain physical HCA capabilities. The PPF uses the phys capabilities when it computes things like ICM size. The dev_caps structure will then contain the paravirtualized values, making bookkeeping much easier in SRIOV mode. We add a structure rather than a single parameter because there will be other fields in the phys_caps. The first field we add to the mlx4_phys_caps structure is num_phys_eqs. 2. In INIT_HCA, when running in SRIOV mode, the "log_num_eqs" parameter passed to the FW is the number of EQs per VF/PF; each function (PF or VF) has this number of EQs available. However, the total number of EQs which must be allowed for in the ICM is (1 << log_num_eqs) * (#VFs + #PFs). Rather than compute this quantity, we allocate ICM space for 1024 EQs (which is the device maximum number of EQs, and which is the value we place in the mlx4_phys_caps structure). For INIT_HCA, however, we use the per-function number of EQs as described above. disable_cb is just an optimization: it can not guarantee that there are no callbacks. In particular it doesn't have any effect when event index is on. Instead, detach, napi disable and reset on freeze ensure we don't run concurrently with a callback. Remove the useless calls so we get same behaviour with and without event index. ath_tx_setup_buffer() can fail if there is no ath_buf left, or if mapping DMA failed. In this case it frees the skb passed to it. If ath_tx_setup_buffer is called from ath_tx_form_aggr, the skb is still linked into the tid buffer list and must be dequeued before being released. 2012-05-25wl1251: fix oops on early interruptGrazvydas Ignotas2-3/+2
This driver disables interrupt just after requesting it and enables it later, after interface is up. However currently there is a time window between request_irq() and disable_irq() where if interrupt arrives, the driver oopses because it's not yet ready to process it. This can be reproduced by inserting the module, associating and removing the module multiple times. Eliminate this race by setting IRQF_NOAUTOEN flag before request_irq(). 2012-05-25iwlwifi: do not use shadow registers by defaultMeenakshi Venkataraman2-5/+5
Shadow registers in the device are meant to allow the driver to update certain device registers without needing to wake up all components of the device. However, using this feature in the device causes communication between the driver and the device to become unreliable, resulting in host command timeouts. Disable this feature by default till a fix is available for the bug. 2012-05-25iwlwifi: fix the Transmit Frame Descriptor ringsEmmanuel Grumbach3-12/+16
The logic that allows to have a short TFD queue was completely wrong. We do maintain 256 Transmit Frame Descriptors, but they point to recycled buffers. We used to attach and de-attach different TFDs for the same buffer and it worked since they pointed to the same buffer. Also zero the number of BDs after unmapping a TFD. This seems not necessary since we don't reclaim the same TFD twice, but I like housekeeping. 2012-05-25iwlwifi: update BT traffic load states correctlyMeenakshi Venkataraman1-0/+1
When BT traffic load changes from its previous state, a new LQ command needs to be sent down to the firmware. This needs to be done only once per change. The state variable that keeps track of this change is last_bt_traffic_load. However, it was not being updated when the change had been handled. Not updating this variable was causing a flood of advanced BT config commands to be sent to the firmware. Fix this. 2012-05-24xen/netback: Calculate the number of SKB slots required correctlySimon Graham1-2/+1
When calculating the number of slots required for a packet header, the code was reserving too many slots if the header crossed a page boundary. Since netbk_gop_skb copies the header to the start of the page, the count of slots required for the header should be based solely on the header size. This problem is easy to reproduce if a VIF is bridged to a USB 3G modem device as the skb->data value always starts near the end of the first page. Then using netback in domU and netfront in dom0 is the only way to get network access in dom0.
