This reverts commit 46e46db313a2bf3c48cac4eb8bdb613b762f301b. Mark reported
that it breaks QCA6390 hw2.0 on Dell XPS 13 9310:
[ 5.537034] ath11k_pci 0000:72:00.0: chip_id 0x0 chip_family 0xb board_id 0xff soc_id 0xffffffff
[ 5.537038] ath11k_pci 0000:72:00.0: fw_version 0x101c06cc fw_build_timestamp 2020-06-24 19:50 fw_build_id
[ 5.537236] ath11k_pci 0000:72:00.0: failed to fetch board data for bus=pci,qmi-chip-id=0,qmi-board-id=255,variant=DE_1901 from ath11k/QCA6390/hw2.0/board-2.bin
[ 5.537255] ath11k_pci 0000:72:00.0: failed to fetch board-2.bin or board.bin from QCA6390/hw2.0
[ 5.537257] ath11k_pci 0000:72:00.0: qmi failed to fetch board file: -2
[ 5.537258] ath11k_pci 0000:72:00.0: failed to load board data file: -2
So we need to back to the drawing board and implement it so that backwards
compatiblity is not broken.

Currently, there is no way to get drop packet number of multicast and
broadcast in IGU hardware module, it is not convenient to find problem
when multicast packet or broadcast packet is dropped in IGU, so this
patch adds statistics for them in debugfs.

When the mbx or reset message arrives, the driver is informed
through an interrupt. This task can be processed only after
the workqueue is scheduled. In some cases, this workqueue
scheduling takes a long time. As a result, the mbx or reset
service task cannot be processed in time. So add some warning
message to improve debugging efficiency for this case.

The clock domain crossing error (CDC) is calculated at every fetch of Tx or Rx
timestamps. It includes a division. Especially on arm32 based systems it is
expensive. It also requires two conditionals in the hotpath.
Add a compensation value cache to struct plat_stmmacenet_data and subtract it
unconditionally in the RX/TX functions which spares the conditionals.
The value is initialized to 0 and if supported calculated in the PTP
initialization code.

Currently mvpp2_xdp_setup won't allow attaching XDP program if
mtu > ETH_DATA_LEN (1500).
The mvpp2_change_mtu on the other hand checks whether
MVPP2_RX_PKT_SIZE(mtu) > MVPP2_BM_LONG_PKT_SIZE.
These two checks are semantically different.
Moreover this limit can be increased to MVPP2_MAX_RX_BUF_SIZE, since in
mvpp2_rx we have
xdp.data = data + MVPP2_MH_SIZE + MVPP2_SKB_HEADROOM;
xdp.frame_sz = PAGE_SIZE;
Change the checks to check whether
mtu > MVPP2_MAX_RX_BUF_SIZE

Calling ipa_cmd_pipeline_clear() after stopping the channel
underlying the AP<-modem RX endpoint can lead to a deadlock.
This occurs in the ->runtime_suspend device power operation for the
IPA driver. While this callback is in progress, any other requests
for power will block until the callback returns.
Stopping the AP<-modem RX channel does not prevent the modem from
sending another packet to this endpoint. If a packet arrives for an
RX channel when the channel is stopped, an SUSPEND IPA interrupt
condition will be pending. Handling an IPA interrupt requires
power, so ipa_isr_thread() calls pm_runtime_get_sync() first thing.
The problem occurs because a "pipeline clear" command will not
complete while such a SUSPEND interrupt condition exists. So the
SUSPEND IPA interrupt handler won't proceed until it gets power;
that won't happen until the ->runtime_suspend callback (and its
"pipeline clear" command) completes; and that can't happen while
the SUSPEND interrupt condition exists.
It turns out that in this case there is no need to use the "pipeline
clear" command. There are scenarios in which clearing the pipeline
is required while suspending, but those are not (yet) supported
upstream. So a simple fix, avoiding the potential deadlock, is to
stop calling ipa_cmd_pipeline_clear() in ipa_endpoint_suspend().
This removes the only user of ipa_cmd_pipeline_clear(), so get rid
of that function. It can be restored again whenever it's needed.
This is basically a manual revert along with an explanation for
commit 6cb63ea6a39ea ("net: ipa: introduce ipa_cmd_tag_process()").

The driver should not be connecting and disconnecting the PHY when the
device is opened and closed, it should be stopping and starting the PHY. The
phy should be connected as part of binding and disconnected during
unbinding.
As this results in the PHY not being reset during open, link speed, etc.
settings set prior to the link coming up are now not being lost.
It is necessary for phy_stop() to only be called when the phydev still
exists (resolving the above stack trace). When unbinding, ".unbind" will be
called prior to ".stop", with phy_disconnect() already having called
phy_stop() before the phydev becomes inaccessible.

.ndo_change_proto_down was added seemingly to enable out-of-tree
implementations. Over 2.5yrs later we still have no real users
upstream. Hardwire the generic implementation for now, we can
revert once real users materialize. (rocker is a test vehicle,
not a user.)
We need to drop the optimization on the sysfs side, because
unlike ndos priv_flags will be changed at runtime, so we'd
need READ_ONCE/WRITE_ONCE everywhere..

During the process of driver probing, probe function should return < 0
for failure, otherwise kernel will treat value == 0 as success.
Therefore, we should set err to -EINVAL when

Commit 4dfb9982644b ("tsn: Fix build.") fixed compilation with const
dev_addr. In tsnep_netdev_set_mac_address() the call of ether_addr_copy()
was replaced with dev_set_mac_address(), which calls
ndo_set_mac_address(). This results in an endless recursive loop because
ndo_set_mac_address is set to tsnep_netdev_set_mac_address.
Call eth_hw_addr_set() instead of dev_set_mac_address() in

Intel Wired LAN Driver Updates 2021-11-22
Maciej Fijalkowski says:
Here are the two fixes for issues around ethtool's set_channels()
callback for ice driver. Both are related to XDP resources. First one
corrects the size of vsi->txq_map that is used to track the usage of Tx
resources and the second one prevents the wrong refcounting of bpf_prog.

The IPA setup_complete flag is set at the end of ipa_setup(), when
the setup phase of initialization has completed successfully. This
occurs as part of driver probe processing, or (if "modem-init" is
specified in the DTS file) it is triggered by the "ipa-setup-ready"
SMP2P interrupt generated by the modem.
In the latter case, it's possible for driver shutdown (or remove) to
begin while setup processing is underway, and this can't be allowed.
The problem is that the setup_complete flag is not adequate to signal
that setup is underway.
If setup_complete is set, it will never be un-set, so that case is
not a problem. But if setup_complete is false, there's a chance
setup is underway.
Because setup is triggered by an interrupt on a "modem-init" system,
there is a simple way to ensure the value of setup_complete is safe
to read. The threaded handler--if it is executing--will complete as
part of a request to disable the "ipa-modem-ready" interrupt. This
means that ipa_setup() (which is called from the handler) will run
to completion if it was underway, or will never be called otherwise.
The request to disable the "ipa-setup-ready" interrupt is currently
made within ipa_modem_stop(). Instead, disable the interrupt
outside that function in the two places it's called. In the case of
ipa_remove(), this ensures the setup_complete flag is safe to read
before we read it.
Rename ipa_smp2p_disable() to be ipa_smp2p_irq_disable_setup(), to be
more specific about its effect.

We currently maintain a "disabled" Boolean flag to determine whether
the "ipa-setup-ready" SMP2P IRQ handler does anything. That flag
must be accessed under protection of a mutex.
Instead, disable the SMP2P interrupt when requested, which prevents
the interrupt handler from ever being called. More importantly, it
synchronizes a thread disabling the interrupt with the completion of
the interrupt handler in case they run concurrently.
Use the IPA setup_complete flag rather than the disabled flag in the
handler to determine whether to ignore any interrupts arriving after
the first.
Rename the "disabled" flag to be "setup_disabled", to be specific
about its purpose.

Add LAG support to this switch. In Documentation this is described as
trunk mode. A max of 4 LAGs are supported and each can support up to 4
port. The current tx mode supported is Hash mode with both L2 and L2+3
mode.
When no port are present in the trunk, the trunk is disabled in the
switch.
When a port is disconnected, the traffic is redirected to the other
available port.
The hash mode is global and each LAG require to have the same hash mode
set. To change the hash mode when multiple LAG are configured, it's
required to remove each LAG and set the desired hash mode to the last.
An error is printed when it's asked to set a not supported hadh mode.

The switch supports mirror mode. Only one port can set as mirror port and
every other port can set to both ingress and egress mode. The mirror
port is disabled and reverted to normal operation once every port is
removed from sending packet to it.

This change adds a MCTP Serial transport binding, as defined by DMTF
specificiation DSP0253 - "MCTP Serial Transport Binding". This is
implemented as a new serial line discipline, and can be attached to
arbitrary tty devices.
From the Kconfig description:
This driver provides an MCTP-over-serial interface, through a
serial line-discipline, as defined by DMTF specification "DSP0253 -
MCTP Serial Transport Binding". By attaching the ldisc to a serial
device, we get a new net device to transport MCTP packets.
This allows communication with external MCTP endpoints which use
serial as their transport. It can also be used as an easy way to
provide MCTP connectivity between virtual machines, by forwarding
data between simple virtual serial devices.
Say y here if you need to connect to MCTP endpoints over serial. To
compile as a module, use m; the module will be called mctp-serial.
Once the N_MCTP line discipline is set [using ioctl(TCIOSETD)], we get a
new netdev suitable for MCTP communication.
The 'mctp' utility[1] provides a simple wrapper for this ioctl, using
'link serial <device>':
# mctp link serial /dev/ttyS0 &
# mctp link
dev lo index 1 address 0x00:00:00:00:00:00 net 1 mtu 65536 up
dev mctpserial0 index 5 address 0x(no-addr) net 1 mtu 68 down

When processing port up/down events generated by the device's firmware,
the driver protects itself from events reported for non-existent local
ports, but not the CPU port (local port 0), which exists, but lacks a
netdev.
This can result in a NULL pointer dereference when calling
netif_carrier_{on,off}().
Fix this by bailing early when processing an event reported for the CPU
port. Problem was only observed when running on top of a buggy emulator.

On an arm64 platform with the Spectrum ASIC, after loading and executing
a new kernel via kexec, the following trace [1] is observed. This seems
to be caused by the fact that the device is not properly shutdown before
executing the new kernel.
Fix this by implementing a shutdown method which mirrors the remove
method, as recommended by the kexec maintainer [2][3].

The partition size is used to tell hardware the size of piece we are going
to send a firmware. The old code updates the size in constant buffer of
firmware, and leads system crash.
To fix this, update the size on skb->data after we copy the firmware data
into skb.

In some very rare cases the init flow may fail. In many cases, this is
recoverable, so we can retry. Implement a loop to retry two more times
after the first attempt failed.
This can happen in two different situations, namely during probe and
during mac80211 start. For the first case, a simple loop is enough.
For the second case, we need to add a flag to prevent mac80211 from
trying to restart it as well, leaving full control with the driver.

Both gcc-11 and clang point out a potential issue with integer overflow when
the iwl_dev_info_table[] array is empty. This is what clang warns:
drivers/net/wireless/intel/iwlwifi/pcie/drv.c:1344:42: error: implicit conversion from 'unsigned long' to 'int' changes value from 18446744073709551615 to -1 [-Werror,-Wconstant-conversion]
for (i = ARRAY_SIZE(iwl_dev_info_table) - 1; i >= 0; i--) {
~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^~~
This is still harmless, as the loop correctly terminates, but adding
an extra range check makes that obvious to both readers and to the
compiler.

Allow support for 'enable_iwarp' and 'enable_roce' devlink params to turn
on/off iWARP or RoCE protocol support for E800 devices.
For example, a user can turn on iWARP functionality with,
devlink dev param set pci/0000:07:00.0 name enable_iwarp value true cmode runtime
This add an iWARP auxiliary rdma device, ice.iwarp.<>, under this PF.
A user request to enable both iWARP and RoCE under the same PF is rejected
since this device does not support both protocols simultaneously on the
same port.

Ice driver has the routines for managing XDP resources that are shared
between ndo_bpf op and VSI rebuild flow. The latter takes place for
example when user changes queue count on an interface via ethtool's
set_channels().
There is an issue around the bpf_prog refcounting when VSI is being
rebuilt - since ice_prepare_xdp_rings() is called with vsi->xdp_prog as
an argument that is used later on by ice_vsi_assign_bpf_prog(), same
bpf_prog pointers are swapped with each other. Then it is also
interpreted as an 'old_prog' which in turn causes us to call
bpf_prog_put on it that will decrement its refcount.
Below splat can be interpreted in a way that due to zero refcount of a
bpf_prog it is wiped out from the system while kernel still tries to
refer to it:

Fix this by only calling ice_vsi_assign_bpf_prog() inside
ice_prepare_xdp_rings() when current vsi->xdp_prog pointer is NULL.
This way set_channels() flow will not attempt to swap the vsi->xdp_prog
pointers with itself.
Also, sprinkle around some comments that provide a reasoning about
correlation between driver and kernel in terms of bpf_prog refcount.

The approach of having XDP queue per CPU regardless of user's setting
exposed a hidden bug that could occur in case when Rx queue count differ
from Tx queue count. Currently vsi->txq_map's size is equal to the
doubled vsi->alloc_txq, which is not correct due to the fact that XDP
rings were previously based on the Rx queue count. Below splat can be

make sense as the value doesn't match the max value in the reg.

We are currently missing 2 additionals MIB counter present in QCA833x
switch.
QC832x switch have 39 MIB counter and QCA833X have 41 MIB counter.
Add the additional MIB counter and rework the MIB function to print the
correct supported counter from the match_data struct.

Convert any qca8k set/clear/pool to regmap helper and add
missing config to regmap_config struct.
Read/write/rmw operation are reworked to use the regmap helper
internally to keep the delta of this patch low. These additional
function will then be dropped when the code split will be proposed.
Ipq40xx SoC have the internal switch based on the qca8k regmap but use
mmio for read/write/rmw operation instead of mdio.
In preparation for the support of this internal switch, convert the
driver to regmap API to later split the driver to common and specific
code. The overhead introduced by the use of regamp API is marginal as the
internal mdio will bypass it by using its direct access and regmap will be
used only by configuration functions or fdb access.

In preparation for FORTIFY_SOURCE performing compile-time and run-time
field bounds checking for memcpy(), memmove(), and memset(), avoid
intentionally writing across neighboring fields.
Replace the existing empty member position markers "headers_start" and
"headers_end" with a struct_group(). This will allow memcpy() and sizeof()
to more easily reason about sizes, and improve readability.
"pahole" shows no size nor member offset changes to struct sk_buff.
"objdump -d" shows no object code changes (outside of WARNs affected by
source line number changes).

The change to eth_hw_addr_set() caused gcc to correctly spot a
bug that was introduced in an earlier incorrect fix:
In file included from include/linux/etherdevice.h:21,
from drivers/net/ethernet/ni/nixge.c:7:
In function '__dev_addr_set',
inlined from 'eth_hw_addr_set' at include/linux/etherdevice.h:319:2,
inlined from 'nixge_probe' at drivers/net/ethernet/ni/nixge.c:1286:3:
include/linux/netdevice.h:4648:9: error: 'memcpy' reading 6 bytes from a region of size 0 [-Werror=stringop-overread]
4648 | memcpy(dev->dev_addr, addr, len);
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As nixge_get_nvmem_address() can return either NULL or an error
pointer, the NULL check is wrong, and we can end up reading from
ERR_PTR(-EOPNOTSUPP), which gcc knows to contain zero readable
bytes.
Make the function always return an error pointer again but fix
the check to match that.
