2015-03-25s390: remove 31 bit supportHeiko Carstens1-12/+0
Remove the 31 bit support in order to reduce maintenance cost and effectively remove dead code. Since a couple of years there is no distribution left that comes with a 31 bit kernel. The 31 bit kernel also has been broken since more than a year before anybody noticed. In addition I added a removal warning to the kernel shown at ipl for 5 minutes: a960062e5826 ("s390: add 31 bit warning message") which let everybody know about the plan to remove 31 bit code. We didn't get any response. Given that the last 31 bit only machine was introduced in 1999 let's remove the code. Anybody with 31 bit user space code can still use the compat mode. 2012-11-19ctcm: remove BUG_ONsUrsula Braun1-3/+0
Remove BUG_ON's in ctcm driver, since the checked error conditions are null pointer accesses. Signed-off-by: Ursula Braun <ursula.braun@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Frank Blaschka <frank.blaschka@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-07-20s390/comments: unify copyright messages and remove file namesHeiko Carstens1-2/+0
Remove the file name from the comment at top of many files. In most cases the file name was wrong anyway, so it's rather pointless. Also unify the IBM copyright statement. We did have a lot of sightly different statements and wanted to change them one after another whenever a file gets touched. However that never happened. Instead people start to take the old/"wrong" statements to use as a template for new files. So unify all of them in one go. Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com>
2012-03-07ctcm: make ctcmpc debugging compilableUrsula Braun1-6/+6
ctcmpc debugging can be activated defining constant DEBUGCCW. The debugging part contains wrong checks for 64 bit addresses. Thus the debugging version does not compile. This patch corrects the 64-bit address checks to make it compilable. 2010-08-12ctcm: rename READ/WRITE defines to avoid redefinitionsUrsula Braun1-30/+34
READ/WRITE seems to be a bit too generic for defines in a device driver. Just rename them to CTCM_READ/CTCM_WRITE to avoid warnings. Signed-off-by: Ursula Braun <ursula.braun@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-05-17drivers/s390/net: Drop memory allocation castJulia Lawall1-4/+2
Drop cast on the result of kmalloc and similar functions. The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> @@ type T; @@ - (T *) (\(kmalloc\|kzalloc\|kcalloc\|kmem_cache_alloc\|kmem_cache_zalloc\| kmem_cache_alloc_node\|kmalloc_node\|kzalloc_node\)(...)) // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <julia@diku.dk> Signed-off-by: Frank Blaschka <frank.blaschka@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2009-11-13s390: remove cu3088 layer for lcs and ctcmUrsula Braun1-1/+0
The cu3088-driver used as common base for lcs- and ctcm-devices makes it difficult to assign the appropriate driver to an lcs-device or a ctcm-device. This patch eliminates the cu3088-driver and thus the root device "cu3088". Path /sys/devices/cu3088 is replaced with the pathes /sys/devices/lcs and /sys/devices/ctcm. Patch is based on a proposal from Cornelia Huck. Cc: Cornelia Huck <cornelia.huck@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Ursula Braun <ursula.braun@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S.
