I tried to convert it to a flexible-array member, but in the end could not figure out why the sizeof(struct fc_fdmi_???) are used the way they are, and how to properly convert those. Work around this instead by abstracting the string copy in a slightly higher-level function fc_ct_hdr_fill() helper that strscpy() and memset() to achieve the same result as strncpy() but does not require a zero-terminated input and does not get checked for the array overflow because gcc (so far) does not understand the behavior of strscpy(). 2019-07-29scsi: fcoe: Embed fc_rport_priv in fcoe_rport structureHannes Reinecke1-1/+4
Gcc-9 complains for a memset across pointer boundaries, which happens as the code tries to allocate a flexible array on the stack. Turns out we cannot do this without relying on gcc-isms, so with this patch we'll embed the fc_rport_priv structure into fcoe_rport, can use the normal 'container_of' outcast, and will only have to do a memset over one structure. This reverts commit bbc0f8bd88abefb0f27998f40a073634a3a2db89. It added a warning whose intent was to check whether the rport was still linked into the peer list. It doesn't work as intended and gives false positive warnings for two reasons: 1) If the rport is never linked into the peer list it will not be considered empty since the list_head is never initialized. 2) If the rport is deleted from the peer list using list_del_rcu(), then the list_head is in an undefined state and it is not considered empty. 2019-01-29scsi: libfc: free skb when receiving invalid flogi respMing Lu1-3/+3
The issue to be fixed in this commit is when libfc found it received a invalid FLOGI response from FC switch, it would return without freeing the fc frame, which is just the skb data. This would cause memory leak if FC switch keeps sending invalid FLOGI responses. This fix is just to make it execute `fc_frame_free(fp)` before returning from function `fc_lport_flogi_resp`. fc_rport_login() will be calling mutex_lock() while running inside an RCU-protected section, triggering the warning 'sleeping function called from invalid context'. To fix this we can drop the rcu functions here altogether as the disc mutex protecting the list itself is already held, preventing any list manipulation.
