2017-09-01spi: spi-falcon: drop check of boot selectHauke Mehrtens1-5/+0
Do not check which flash type the SoC was booted from before using this driver. Assume that the device tree is correct and use this driver when it was added to device tree. This also removes a build dependency to the SoC code. All device trees I am aware of only have one correct flash device entry in it. The device tree is anyway bundled with the kernel in all systems using device tree I know of. The boot mode can be specified with some pin straps and will select the flash type the rom code will boot from. One SPI, NOR or NAND flash chip can be connect to the EBU and used to load the first stage boot loader from. 2014-12-11spi/falcon: Remove hardware prepare and unprepare functionsMark Brown1-12/+0
They are completely empty and therefore serve no function. Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>
2014-10-20spi: drop owner assignment from platform_driversWolfram Sang1-1/+0
A platform_driver does not need to set an owner, it will be populated by the driver core. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2014-06-06spi: falcon: Remove unnecessary platform_set_drvdata()Alexander Shiyan1-2/+0
Drop call to platform_set_drvdata() as driver data is not used anywhere in the driver. Signed-off-by: Alexander Shiyan <shc_work@mail.ru> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@linaro.org>

2014-02-16spi: Remove explictly set bus_num and num_chipselect to default settingAxel Lin1-2/+0
The purpose of commit 1e8a52e18cfb "spi: By default setup spi_masters with 1 chipselect and dynamics bus number" is to avoid setting default value for bus_num and num_chipselect in spi master drivers. So let's remove the duplicate code. 2014-02-12spi: Remove duplicate code to check chip_selectAxel Lin1-3/+0
In spi_add_device(), we have the code to validate spi->chip_select. So remove the duplicate code in various drivers. Signed-off-by: Axel Lin <axel.lin@ingics.com> Acked-by: Stephen Warren <swarren@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@linaro.org>

2013-02-05spi/mips-lantiq: set SPI_MASTER_HALF_DUPLEX flagJohn Crispin1-0/+1
Due to hardware limitations of the spi/flash frontend of the EBU we need to set the SPI_MASTER_HALF_DUPLEX flag. Signed-off-by: Thomas Langer <thomas.langer@lantiq.com> Signed-off-by: John Crispin <blogic@openwrt.org> Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>
2013-02-05spi/mips-lantiq: make use of spi_finalize_current_messageJohn Crispin1-1/+1
Rather than calling m->complete() directly we choose the sane way and call spi_finalize_current_message instead. Signed-off-by: Thomas Langer <thomas.langer@lantiq.com> Signed-off-by: John Crispin <blogic@openwrt.org> Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca>
2012-12-07spi: Remove HOTPLUG section attributesGrant Likely1-3/+3
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. Bill Pemberton has done most of the legwork on this series. I've used his script to purge the attributes from the drivers/gpio tree. 2012-07-23SPI: MIPS: lantiq: add FALCON spi driverThomas Langer1-0/+469
The external bus unit (EBU) found on the FALCON SoC has spi emulation that is designed for serial flash access. This driver has only been tested with m25p80 type chips. The hardware has no support for other types of spi peripherals.
