Link settings can be changed only when the interface is down. Disable and re-enable the interface, if necessary, behind the scenes so that we do not force users to an if down/up sequence. Implement the .ndo_fdb_dump callback for the switch net devices. The list of all offloaded FDB entries is retrieved through the dpsw_fdb_dump() firmware call. In order to pass extack together with NETDEV_PRE_UP notifications, it's necessary to route the extack to __dev_open() from diverse (possibly indirect) callers. One prominent API through which the notification is invoked is dev_open(). Therefore extend dev_open() with and extra extack argument and update all users. Most of the calls end up just encoding NULL, but bond and team drivers have the extack readily available. 2018-11-23staging: fsl-dpaa2: ethsw: Handle SWITCHDEV_PORT_OBJ_ADD/_DELPetr Machata1-0/+56
Following patches will change the way of distributing port object changes from a switchdev operation to a switchdev notifier. The switchdev code currently recursively descends through layers of lower devices, eventually calling the op on a front-panel port device. The notifier will instead be sent referencing the bridge port device, which may be a stacking device that's one of front-panel ports uppers, or a completely unrelated device. ethsw currently doesn't support any uppers other than bridge. SWITCHDEV_OBJ_ID_HOST_MDB and _PORT_MDB objects are always notified on the bridge port device. Thus the only case that a stacked device could be validly referenced by port object notifications are bridge notifications for VLAN objects added to the bridge itself. But the driver explicitly rejects such notifications in port_vlans_add(). It is therefore safe to assume that the only interesting case is that the notification is on a front-panel port netdevice. To handle SWITCHDEV_PORT_OBJ_ADD and _DEL, subscribe to the blocking notifier chain. Dispatch to swdev_port_obj_add() resp. _del() to maintain the behavior that the switchdev operation based code currently has. It was delayed as I wanted to make sure the final driver deletions did not cause any major merge issues, and all now looks good. There are a lot of patches here, just over 1000. The diffstat summary shows the major changes here: 1007 files changed, 16828 insertions(+), 227770 deletions(-) Because of this, we might be close to shrinking the overall kernel source code size for two releases in a row. There was loads of work in this release cycle, primarily: - tons of ks7010 driver cleanups - lots of mt7621 driver fixes and cleanups - most driver cleanups - wilc1000 fixes and cleanups - lots and lots of IIO driver cleanups and new additions - debugfs cleanups for all staging drivers - lots of other staging driver cleanups and fixes, the shortlog has the full details. but the big user-visable things here are the removal of 3 chunks of code: - ncpfs and ipx were removed on schedule, no one has cared about this code since it moved to staging last year, and if it needs to come back, it can be reverted. - lustre file system is removed. I've ranted at the lustre developers about once a year for the past 5 years, with no real forward progress at all to clean things up and get the code into the "real" part of the kernel. Given that the lustre developers continue to work on an external tree and try to port those changes to the in-kernel tree every once in a while, this whole thing really really is not working out at all. So I'm deleting it so that the developers can spend the time working in their out-of-tree location and get things cleaned up properly to get merged into the tree correctly at a later date. Because of these file removals, you will have merge issues on some of these files (2 in the ipx code, 1 in the ncpfs code, and 1 in the atomisp driver). A follow-up patch enables emitting VLAN notifications for the bridge CPU port in addition to the existing slave port notifications. These notifications have orig_dev set to the bridge in question. The tag control information (TCI) part of the VLAN header contains several fields, including PCP (priority code point) and PVID (port VLAN id). Current implementation uses function ethsw_port_set_tci() to set the PVID value and mistakenly overwrites the rest of the TCI fields with 0, including PCP which by default has a value of 7. Fix this by adding support to retrieve TCI set in hardware. Read existing value and only updated the PVID fields, leaving others unchanged.
