Pull staging driver updates from Greg KH: "Here's the big, really big, staging tree patches for 4.2-rc1. Loads of stuff in here, almost all just coding style fixes / churn, and a few new drivers as well, one of which I just disabled from the build a few minutes ago due to way too many build warnings. Other than the one "disable this driver" patch, all of these have been in linux-next for quite a while with no reported issues" * tag 'staging-4.2-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/staging: (1163 commits) staging: wilc1000: disable driver due to build warnings Staging: rts5208: fix CHANGE_LINK_STATE value Staging: sm750fb: ddk750_swi2c.c: Insert spaces before parenthesis Staging: sm750fb: ddk750_swi2c.c: Place braces on correct lines Staging: sm750fb: ddk750_swi2c.c: Insert spaces around operators Staging: sm750fb: ddk750_swi2c.c: Replace spaces with tabs Staging: sm750fb: ddk750_swi2c.h: Shorten lines to under 80 characters Staging: sm750fb: ddk750_swi2c.h: Replace spaces with tabs Staging: sm750fb: modedb.h: Shorten lines to under 80 characters Staging: sm750fb: modedb.h: Replace spaces with tabs staging: comedi: addi_apci_3120: rename 'this_board' variables staging: comedi: addi_apci_1516: rename 'this_board' variables staging: comedi: ni_atmio: cleanup ni_getboardtype() staging: comedi: vmk80xx: sanity check context used to get the boardinfo staging: comedi: vmk80xx: rename 'boardinfo' variables staging: comedi: dt3000: rename 'this_board' variables staging: comedi: adv_pci_dio: rename 'this_board' variables staging: comedi: cb_pcidas64: rename 'thisboard' variables staging: comedi: cb_pcidas: rename 'thisboard' variables staging: comedi: me4000: rename 'thisboard' variables ...
2015-06-17staging: vt6656: Boolean tests don't need comparisons.Abdul Hussain1-1/+1

2015-06-10mac80211: convert HW flags to unsigned long bitmapJohannes Berg1-4/+4
As we're running out of hardware capability flags pretty quickly, convert them to use the regular test_bit() style unsigned long bitmaps. This introduces a number of helper functions/macros to set and to test the bits, along with new debugfs code. The occurrences of an explicit __clear_bit() are intentional, the drivers were never supposed to change their supported bits on the fly. We should investigate changing this to be a per-frame flag. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2015-04-24mac80211: remove support for IFF_PROMISCJohannes Berg1-10/+1
This support is essentially useless as typically networks are encrypted, frames will be filtered by hardware, and rate scaling will be done with the intended recipient in mind. For real monitoring of the network, the monitor mode support should be used instead. Removing it removes a lot of corner cases. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2015-03-20staging: vt6656: don't return zero on failure path in vt6656_probe()Alexey Khoroshilov1-0/+1
If ieee80211_alloc_hw() fails in vt6656_probe(), it breaks off initialization, but returns zero. Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org). Signed-off-by: Alexey Khoroshilov <khoroshilov@ispras.ru> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-01-12staging: vt6656: Use ether_addr_copy() on vnt_private members.Krzysztof Adamski1-1/+2
This patch fixes checkpatch.pl warning: WARNING: Prefer ether_addr_copy() over memcpy() if the Ethernet addresses are __aligned(2) current_net_addr and permanent_net_addr members of vnt_private alignment is changed to at last 16 bits so that ether_addr_copy can be safely used on them. buf->data is of type ieee80211_cts which is already properly aligned. 2014-12-15Merge tag 'staging-3.19-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/stagingLinus Torvalds1-8/+2
Pull staging driver updates from Greg KH: "Here's the big staging tree pull request for 3.19-rc1. We continued to delete more lines than were added, always a good thing, but not at a huge rate this release, only about 70k lines removed overall mostly from removing the horrid bcm driver. Lots of normal staging driver cleanups and fixes all over the place, well over a thousand of them, the shortlog shows all the horrid details. The "contentious" thing here is the movement of the Android binder code out of staging into the "real" part of the kernel. This is code that has been stable for a few years now and is working as-is in the tens of millions of devices with no issues. Yes, the code is horrid, and the userspace api leaves a lot to be desired, but it's not going to change due to legacy issues that we have no control over. Because so many devices and companies rely on this, and the code is stable, might as well promote it out of staging. This was all discussed at the Linux Plumbers conference, and everyone participating agreed that this was the best way forward. There is work happening to replace the binder code with something new that is happening right now, but I don't expect to see the results of that work for another year at the earliest. If that ever happens, and Android switches over to it, I'll gladly remove this version. As for maintainers, I'll be glad to maintain this code, I've been doing it for the past few years with no problems. I'll send a MAINTAINERS entry for it before 3.19-final is out, still need to talk to the Google developers about if they are willing to help with it or not, last I checked they were, which was good. All of these patches have been in linux-next for a while with no reported issues" * tag 'staging-3.19-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/staging: (1382 commits) Staging: slicoss: Fix long line issues in slicoss.c staging: rtl8712: remove unnecessary else after return staging: comedi: change some printk calls to pr_err staging: rtl8723au: hal: Removed the extra semicolon lustre: Deletion of unnecessary checks before three function calls staging: lustre: fix sparse warnings: static function declaration staging: lustre: fixed sparse warnings related to static declarations staging: unisys: remove duplicate header staging: unisys: remove unneeded structure staging: ft1000 : replace __attribute ((__packed__) with __packed drivers: staging: rtl8192e: Include "asm/unaligned.h" instead of "access_ok.h" in "rtl819x_BAProc.c" Drivers:staging:rtl8192e: Fixed checkpatch warning Drivers:staging:clocking-wizard: Added a newline staging: clocking-wizard: check for a valid clk_name pointer staging: rtl8723au: Hal_InitPGData() avoid unnecessary typecasts staging: rtl8723au: _DisableAnalog(): Avoid zero-init variables unnecessarily staging: rtl8723au: Remove unnecessary wrapper _ResetDigitalProcedure1() staging: rtl8723au: _ResetDigitalProcedure1_92C() reduce code obfuscation staging: rtl8723au: Remove unnecessary wrapper _DisableRFAFEAndResetBB() staging: rtl8723au: _DisableRFAFEAndResetBB8192C(): Reduce code obfuscation ...
