2015-12-13serial: 8250: move of_serial code to 8250 directoryArnd Bergmann1-10/+0
As the of-serial driver is now 8250 specific, we can move the file to a more appropriate place in teh 8250 subdirectory and adapt the Kconfig help text and file name. I'm leaving the CONFIG_SERIAL_OF_PLATFORM symbol unchanged to avoid breaking user configuration files unnecessarily. 2015-10-04serial: imx: add earlycon supportLucas Stach1-0/+1
Earlycon allows to have an early debugging console that doesn't need to be statically configured in the kernel config, like earlyprintk, but is set up through the stdout-path DT property. This allows to have the early debugging always built into the kernel and enabled on demand without clashing between different boards or architectures. 2014-11-22serial: samsung: Fix serial config dependencies for exynos7Pankaj Dubey1-2/+2
Exynos7 has a similar serial controller to that present in older Samsung SoCs. To re-use the existing serial driver on Exynos7 we need to have SERIAL_SAMSUNG_UARTS_4 and SERIAL_SAMSUNG_UARTS selected. This is not possible because these symbols are dependent on PLAT_SAMSUNG which is not present for the ARMv8 based exynos7. Change the dependency of these symbols from PLAT_SAMSUNG to the serial driver thus making it available on exynos7. As the existing platform specific code making use of these symbols is related to uart driver this change in dependency should not cause any issues. 2014-11-06drivers: serial: jsm: Enable support for Digi Classic adaptersKonrad Zapalowicz1-2/+2
This commit enables support for the Digi Classic adapters line in the jsm driver. This means changes in: - device probing code - device cleanup code - driver description (Kconfig) The init/cleanup code is based on the staging/dgnc driver. 2014-11-06tty: serial: bcm63xx: Enable DT earlycon supportKevin Cernekee1-0/+1
This enables early console output if there is a chosen/stdout-path property referencing a UART node with the "brcm,bcm6345-uart" compatible string. The bootloader sets up the pinmux and baud/parity/etc. Tested on bcm3384 (MIPS, DT). Signed-off-by: Kevin Cernekee <cernekee@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2014-11-06tty: serial: bcm63xx: Update the Kconfig help textKevin Cernekee1-7/+9
Remove incorrect "bcm963xx_uart" module name; add a list of known users; tweak grammar/indentation/capitalization. Signed-off-by: Kevin Cernekee <cernekee@gmail.com> Acked-by: Florian Fainelli <f.fainelli@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2014-11-06tty: serial: bcm63xx: Allow bcm63xx_uart to be built on other platformsKevin Cernekee1-1/+1
This device was originally supported on bcm63xx only, but it shows up on a wide variety of MIPS and ARM chipsets spanning multiple product lines. Now that the driver has eliminated dependencies on bcm63xx-specific header files, we can build it on any non-bcm63xx kernel. Compile-tested on x86, both statically and as a module. Tested for functionality on bcm3384 (a new MIPS platform under active development). 2014-11-06serial: mxs-auart: use mctrl_gpio helpers for handling modem signalsJanusz Uzycki1-0/+1
Dedicated CTS and RTS pins are unusable together with a lot of other peripherals because they share the same line. Pinctrl is limited. Moreover, the AUART controller doesn't handle DTR/DSR/DCD/RI signals, so we have to control them via GPIO. This patch permits to use GPIOs to control the CTS/RTS/DTR/DSR/DCD/RI signals.
