2019-12-05video: constify fb ops across all driversJani Nikula1-1/+1
Now that the fbops member of struct fb_info is const, we can start making the ops const as well. This does not cover all drivers; some actually modify the fbops struct, for example to adjust for different configurations, and others do more involved things that I'd rather not touch in practically obsolete drivers. Mostly this is the low hanging fruit where we can add "const" and be done with it. v3: - un-constify atyfb, mb862xx, nvidia and uvesabf (0day) v2: - fix typo (Christophe de Dinechin) - use "static const" instead of "const static" in mx3fb.c - also constify smscufx.c Cc: linux-fbdev@vger.kernel.org Reviewed-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch> Signed-off-by: Jani Nikula <jani.nikula@intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/ce67f14435f3af498f2e8bf35ce4be11f7504132.1575390740.git.jani.nikula@intel.com
2019-06-28video: fbdev: don't print error message on framebuffer_alloc() failureBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz1-3/+2
framebuffer_alloc() can fail only on kzalloc() memory allocation failure and since kzalloc() will print error message in such case we can omit printing extra error message in drivers (which BTW is what the majority of framebuffer_alloc() users is doing already). 2019-05-21treewide: Add SPDX license identifier for more missed filesThomas Gleixner1-0/+1
Add SPDX license identifiers to all files which: - Have no license information of any form - Have MODULE_LICENCE("GPL*") inside which was used in the initial scan/conversion to ignore the file These files fall under the project license, GPL v2 only. The resulting SPDX license identifier is: GPL-2.0-only Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-10-08gxt4500: enable panningOndrej Zary1-1/+2
The driver implements pan_display but the corresponding flags are not set. Add FBINFO_HWACCEL_XPAN and FBINFO_HWACCEL_YPAN to flags to allow HW accelerated panning (for fast scrolling). Signed-off-by: Ondrej Zary <linux@rainbow-software.org> Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2015-10-08gxt4500: Use arch_phys_wc_* for framebufferOndrej Zary1-1/+5
Add arch_phys_wc_* calls to allow write-combining using MTRR. Signed-off-by: Ondrej Zary <linux@rainbow-software.org> Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2015-10-08gxt4500: fix color orderOndrej Zary1-3/+4
The color order in truecolor modes is wrong. This does not affect console but is visible e.g. in X11 which has wrong colors. Swap blue and red colors to fix the problem. 2015-10-08gxt4500: enable on non-PPC architecturesOndrej Zary1-0/+7
These chips can be present at least on x86 too - Fire GL2 AGP has GXT6000P but this driver is currently limited to PPC. Enable it for all architectures and add chip configuration for little-endian. Tested on x86 with Fire GL2 AGP. Signed-off-by: Ondrej Zary <linux@rainbow-software.org> Signed-off-by: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com>
2015-08-25drivers/video/fbdev/gxt4500: Use pci_ioremap_wc_bar() to map framebufferLuis R. Rodriguez1-1/+1
The driver doesn't use mtrr_add() or arch_phys_wc_add() but since we know the framebuffer is isolated already on an ioremap() we can take advantage of write combining for performance where possible. In this case there are a few motivations for this: a) Take advantage of PAT when available. b) Help with the goal of eventually using _PAGE_CACHE_UC over _PAGE_CACHE_UC_MINUS on x86 on ioremap_nocache() (see commit de33c442e titled "x86 PAT: fix performance drop for glx, use UC minus for ioremap(), ioremap_nocache() and pci_mmap_page_range()"). 2014-04-17video: move fbdev to drivers/video/fbdevTomi Valkeinen1-0/+783
The drivers/video directory is a mess. It contains generic video related files, directories for backlight, console, linux logo, lots of fbdev device drivers, fbdev framework files. Make some order into the chaos by creating drivers/video/fbdev directory, and move all fbdev related files there. No functionality is changed, although I guess it is possible that some subtle Makefile build order related issue could be created by this patch.
