2019-12-05video: constify fb ops across all driversJani Nikula1-2/+2
Now that the fbops member of struct fb_info is const, we can start making the ops const as well. This does not cover all drivers; some actually modify the fbops struct, for example to adjust for different configurations, and others do more involved things that I'd rather not touch in practically obsolete drivers. Mostly this is the low hanging fruit where we can add "const" and be done with it. v3: - un-constify atyfb, mb862xx, nvidia and uvesabf (0day) v2: - fix typo (Christophe de Dinechin) - use "static const" instead of "const static" in mx3fb.c - also constify smscufx.c Cc: linux-fbdev@vger.kernel.org Reviewed-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch> Signed-off-by: Jani Nikula <jani.nikula@intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/ce67f14435f3af498f2e8bf35ce4be11f7504132.1575390740.git.jani.nikula@intel.com
2019-08-26video: pxafb: Remove cpufreq policy notifierViresh Kumar1-21/+0
The cpufreq policy notifier's CPUFREQ_ADJUST notification is going to get removed soon. The notifier callback pxafb_freq_policy() isn't doing anything apart from printing a debug message on CPUFREQ_ADJUST notification. There is no point in keeping an otherwise empty callback and registering the notifier. Remove it. 2019-06-14docs: fb: convert docs to ReST and rename to *.rstMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+1
The conversion is actually: - add blank lines and identation in order to identify paragraphs; - fix tables markups; - add some lists markups; - mark literal blocks; - adjust title markups. At its new index.rst, let's add a :orphan: while this is not linked to the main index.rst file, in order to avoid build warnings. Also, removed the Maintained by, as requested by Geert. 2016-03-09dma, mm/pat: Rename dma_*_writecombine() to dma_*_wc()Luis R. Rodriguez1-2/+2
Rename dma_*_writecombine() to dma_*_wc(), so that the naming is coherent across the various write-combining APIs. Keep the old names for compatibility for a while, these can be removed at a later time. A guard is left to enable backporting of the rename, and later remove of the old mapping defines seemlessly. Build tested successfully with allmodconfig. The following Coccinelle SmPL patch was used for this simple transformation: @ rename_dma_alloc_writecombine @ expression dev, size, dma_addr, gfp; @@ -dma_alloc_writecombine(dev, size, dma_addr, gfp) +dma_alloc_wc(dev, size, dma_addr, gfp) @ rename_dma_free_writecombine @ expression dev, size, cpu_addr, dma_addr; @@ -dma_free_writecombine(dev, size, cpu_addr, dma_addr) +dma_free_wc(dev, size, cpu_addr, dma_addr) @ rename_dma_mmap_writecombine @ expression dev, vma, cpu_addr, dma_addr, size; @@ -dma_mmap_writecombine(dev, vma, cpu_addr, dma_addr, size) +dma_mmap_wc(dev, vma, cpu_addr, dma_addr, size) We also keep the old names as compatibility helpers, and guard against their definition to make backporting easier. 2015-12-15video: fbdev: pxafb: initial devicetree conversionRobert Jarzmik1-3/+157
This patch brings a first support of pxa framebuffer devices to a devicetree pxa platform, as was before platform data. There are restrictions with this port, the biggest one being the lack of support of smart panels. Moreover the conversion doesn't provide a way to declare multiple framebuffer configurations with different bits per pixel, only the LCD hardware bus width is used. The patch was tested on both pxa25x, pxa27x and pxa3xx platform (namely lubbock, mainstone and zylonite). 2014-04-17video: move fbdev to drivers/video/fbdevTomi Valkeinen1-0/+2332
The drivers/video directory is a mess. It contains generic video related files, directories for backlight, console, linux logo, lots of fbdev device drivers, fbdev framework files. Make some order into the chaos by creating drivers/video/fbdev directory, and move all fbdev related files there. No functionality is changed, although I guess it is possible that some subtle Makefile build order related issue could be created by this patch.
