2017-04-07xen, fbfront: fix connecting to backendJuergen Gross1-2/+2
Connecting to the backend isn't working reliably in xen-fbfront: in case XenbusStateInitWait of the backend has been missed the backend transition to XenbusStateConnected will trigger the connected state only without doing the actions required when the backend has connected. 2017-04-07xen, fbfront: add support for specifying size via xenstoreJuergen Gross1-0/+10
Today xen-fbfront supports specifying the display size via module parameters only. Add support for specifying the size via Xenstore in order to enable doing this easily via the domain's Xen configuration. Add an error message in case the configured display size conflicts with video memory size. 2016-11-07xen: make use of xenbus_read_unsigned() in xen-fbfrontJuergen Gross1-9/+4
Use xenbus_read_unsigned() instead of xenbus_scanf() when possible. This requires to change the type of the reads from int to unsigned, but these cases have been wrong before: negative values are not allowed for the modified cases. 2015-09-08video/xen-fbfront: Further s/MFN/GFN clean-upJulien Grall1-9/+9
The PV driver xen-fbfront is only dealing with GFN and not MFN. Rename all the occurence of MFN to GFN. Also take the opportunity to replace to usage of pfn_to_gfn by xen_page_to_gfn. 2015-09-08xen: Use correctly the Xen memory terminologiesJulien Grall1-2/+2
Based on include/xen/mm.h [1], Linux is mistakenly using MFN when GFN is meant, I suspect this is because the first support for Xen was for PV. This resulted in some misimplementation of helpers on ARM and confused developers about the expected behavior. For instance, with pfn_to_mfn, we expect to get an MFN based on the name. Although, if we look at the implementation on x86, it's returning a GFN. For clarity and avoid new confusion, replace any reference to mfn with gfn in any helpers used by PV drivers. The x86 code will still keep some reference of pfn_to_mfn which may be used by all kind of guests No changes as been made in the hypercall field, even though they may be invalid, in order to keep the same as the defintion in xen repo. Note that page_to_mfn has been renamed to xen_page_to_gfn to avoid a name to close to the KVM function gfn_to_page. Take also the opportunity to simplify simple construction such as pfn_to_mfn(page_to_pfn(page)) into xen_page_to_gfn. More complex clean up will come in follow-up patches. 2014-10-06xen: remove DEFINE_XENBUS_DRIVER() macroDavid Vrabel1-2/+3
The DEFINE_XENBUS_DRIVER() macro looks a bit weird and causes sparse errors. Replace the uses with standard structure definitions instead. This is similar to pci and usb device registration. Signed-off-by: David Vrabel <david.vrabel@citrix.com>
2014-04-17video: move fbdev to drivers/video/fbdevTomi Valkeinen1-0/+719
The drivers/video directory is a mess. It contains generic video related files, directories for backlight, console, linux logo, lots of fbdev device drivers, fbdev framework files. Make some order into the chaos by creating drivers/video/fbdev directory, and move all fbdev related files there. No functionality is changed, although I guess it is possible that some subtle Makefile build order related issue could be created by this patch.
