2009-09-23omapfb: dispc: allow multiple external IRQ handlersDaniel Stone3-42/+67
Previously, the only external (to dispc.c) IRQ handler was RFBI's frame done handler. dispc's IRQ framework was very dumb: you could only have one handler, and the semantics of {request,free}_irq were odd, to say the least. The new framework allows multiple consumers to register arbitrary IRQ masks. 2009-09-23omapfb: dispc: disable iface clocks along with func clocksJouni Hogander1-13/+10
Leaving interface clocks enabled causes dss pwrdm to stay in active state when mpu is in active state. This fix puts dss to sleep state when it is not needed. Earlier version broke framebuffer on 24xx. This is fixed by enabling clocks before trying to access DISPC_IRQSTATUS register. 2009-09-23omapfb: add support for rotation on the Blizzard LCD ctrlRodrigo Vivi2-19/+124
The LCD controller (EPSON S1D13744) supports rotation (0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees) on hardware just setting the bits 0 and 1 of 0x28 register (LCD Panel Configuration Register). Now it is possible to use this caps only setting the angle degree on var rotate of fb_var_screeninfo using the FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO ioctl. 2009-09-23omapfb: add support for the ZOOM MDK LCDStanley.Miao3-0/+205
Add glue to control the OMAP_LDP LCD as a frame buffer device using the existing dispc.c driver under omapfb. Patch updated for mainline kernel. Note that the drivers/video/omap should be updated to pass omap_lcd_config in platform_data. The patch should also be updated to compile if twl4030 is not selected, and eventually to use the regulator framework. 2009-06-30fbdev: add mutex for fb_mmap lockingKrzysztof Helt1-0/+4
Add a mutex to avoid a circular locking problem between the mm layer semaphore and fbdev ioctl mutex through the fb_mmap() call. Also, add mutex to all places where smem_start and smem_len fields change so the mutex inside the fb_mmap() is actually used. Changing of these fields before calling the framebuffer_register() are not mutexed. This is 2.6.31 material. It removes one lockdep (fb_mmap() and register_framebuffer()) but there is still another one (fb_release() and register_framebuffer()). It also cleans up handling of the smem_start and smem_len fields used by mutexed section of the fb_mmap(). Recently the omap McBSP code was cleaned up to get rid of direct McBSP register tinkering by the drivers. Looks like lcd_sx1.c never got converted, and now it breaks builds. It seems the lcd_sx1.c driver is attempting SPI mode, but doing it in a different way compared to omap_mcbsp_set_spi_mode(). Remove the broken driver, patches welcome to add it back when done properly by patching both mcbsp.c and lcd_sx1.c. This updates most of the OMAP drivers which are in mainline to switch to using the cross-platform GPIO calls instead of the older OMAP-specific ones. This is all fairly brainless/obvious stuff. Probably the most interesting bit is to observe that the omap-keypad code seems to now have a portable core that could work with non-OMAP matrix keypads. (That would improve with hardware IRQ debouncing enabled, of course...) OMAP1_IO_ADDRESS(), OMAP2_IO_ADDRESS() and IO_ADDRESS() returns cookies for use with __raw_{read|write}* for accessing registers. Therefore, these macros should return (void __iomem *) cookies, not integer values. Doing this improves typechecking, and means we can find those places where, eg, DMA controllers are incorrectly given virtual addresses to DMA to, or physical addresses are thrown through a virtual to physical address translation. 2008-07-24PAGE_ALIGN(): correctly handle 64-bit values on 32-bit architecturesAndrea Righi2-0/+2
On 32-bit architectures PAGE_ALIGN() truncates 64-bit values to the 32-bit boundary. For example: u64 val = PAGE_ALIGN(size); always returns a value < 4GB even if size is greater than 4GB. The problem resides in PAGE_MASK definition (from include/asm-x86/page.h for example): #define PAGE_SHIFT 12 #define PAGE_SIZE (_AC(1,UL) << PAGE_SHIFT) #define PAGE_MASK (~(PAGE_SIZE-1)) ... #define PAGE_ALIGN(addr) (((addr)+PAGE_SIZE-1)&PAGE_MASK) The "~" is performed on a 32-bit value, so everything in "and" with PAGE_MASK greater than 4GB will be truncated to the 32-bit boundary. Using the ALIGN() macro seems to be the right way, because it uses typeof(addr) for the mask. Also move the PAGE_ALIGN() definitions out of include/asm-*/page.h in include/linux/mm.h.
