The previously added stubs for aty_{ld,}st_lcd() make it so that these functions are used regardless of the config options that were guarding them, so remove the #ifdef/#endif lines and make their declarations always visible. 2021-02-09backlight: ktd253: Bring up in a known stateLinus Walleij1-9/+3
The KTD253 backlight might already be on when the driver is probed: then we don't really know what the current ratio is and all light intensity settings will be off relative to what it was at boot. To fix this, bring up the backlight OFF then move it to the default backlight from there so we know the state. 2021-02-02amba: Make the remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König1-3/+1
All amba drivers return 0 in their remove callback. Together with the driver core ignoring the return value anyhow, it doesn't make sense to return a value here. Change the remove prototype to return void, which makes it explicit that returning an error value doesn't work as expected. This simplifies changing the core remove callback to return void, too. 2021-02-01ARM: 9049/1: locomo: make locomo bus's remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König1-2/+1
The driver core ignores the return value of struct bus_type::remove because there is only little that can be done. To simplify the quest to make this function return void, let struct locomo_driver::remove return void, too. All users already unconditionally return 0, this commit makes it obvious that returning an error code is a bad idea and ensures future users behave accordingly. 2021-01-20backlight: lms283gf05: Convert to GPIO descriptorsLinus Walleij1-26/+17
This converts the lms283gf05 backlight driver to use GPIO descriptors and switches the single PXA Palm Z2 device over to defining these. Since the platform data was only used to convey GPIO information we can delete the platform data header. Notice that we define the proper active low semantics in the board file GPIO descriptor table (active low) and assert the reset line by bringing it to "1" (asserted). 2021-01-13video: omapfb2: Make standard and custom DSI command mode panel driver mutually exclusiveSebastian Reichel1-0/+1
Standard DRM panel driver for DSI command mode panel used by omapfb2 is also available now. Just like the other panels its module name clashes with the module from drivers/video/fbdev/omap2/omapfb/displays, part of the deprecated omapfb2 fbdev driver. As omapfb2 can only be compiled when the omapdrm driver is disabled, and the DRM panel drivers are useless in that case, make the omapfb2 panel depend on the standard DRM panels being disabled to fix the name clash. 2021-01-07vgacon: drop BROKEN_GRAPHICS_PROGRAMSJiri Slaby1-19/+0
BROKEN_GRAPHICS_PROGRAMS is defined when CONFIG_VGA_CONSOLE=y. And vgacon.c is built exclusively in that case too. So the check for BROKEN_GRAPHICS_PROGRAMS is pointless in vgacon.c as it is always true. So remove the test and BROKEN_GRAPHICS_PROGRAMS completely. This also eliminates the need for vga_font_is_default global as it is only set and never read. 2020-12-04powerpc/ps3: make system bus's remove and shutdown callbacks return voidUwe Kleine-König1-3/+1
The driver core ignores the return value of struct device_driver::remove because there is only little that can be done. For the shutdown callback it's ps3_system_bus_shutdown() which ignores the return value. To simplify the quest to make struct device_driver::remove return void, let struct ps3_system_bus_driver::remove return void, too. All users already unconditionally return 0, this commit makes it obvious that returning an error code is a bad idea and ensures future users behave accordingly.
