2015-02-05x86/PCI: Refine the way to release PCI IRQ resourcesJiang Liu1-8/+1
Some PCI device drivers assume that pci_dev->irq won't change after calling pci_disable_device() and pci_enable_device() during suspend and resume. Commit c03b3b0738a5 ("x86, irq, mpparse: Release IOAPIC pin when PCI device is disabled") frees PCI IRQ resources when pci_disable_device() is called and reallocate IRQ resources when pci_enable_device() is called again. This breaks above assumption. So commit 3eec595235c1 ("x86, irq, PCI: Keep IRQ assignment for PCI devices during suspend/hibernation") and 9eabc99a635a ("x86, irq, PCI: Keep IRQ assignment for runtime power management") fix the issue by avoiding freeing/reallocating IRQ resources during PCI device suspend/resume. They achieve this by checking dev.power.is_prepared and dev.power.runtime_status. PM maintainer, Rafael, then pointed out that it's really an ugly fix which leaking PM internal state information to IRQ subsystem. Recently David Vrabel <david.vrabel@citrix.com> also reports an regression in pciback driver caused by commit cffe0a2b5a34 ("x86, irq: Keep balance of IOAPIC pin reference count"). Please refer to: http://lkml.org/lkml/2015/1/14/546 So this patch refine the way to release PCI IRQ resources. Instead of releasing PCI IRQ resources in pci_disable_device()/ pcibios_disable_device(), we now release it at driver unbinding notification BUS_NOTIFY_UNBOUND_DRIVER. In other word, we only release PCI IRQ resources when there's no driver bound to the PCI device, and it keeps the assumption that pci_dev->irq won't through multiple invocation of pci_enable_device()/pci_disable_device(). 2015-02-05resources: Move struct resource_list_entry from ACPI into resource coreJiang Liu4-22/+17
Currently ACPI, PCI and pnp all implement the same resource list management with different data structure. We need to transfer from one data structure into another when passing resources from one subsystem into another subsystem. So move struct resource_list_entry from ACPI into resource core and rename it as resource_entry, then it could be reused by different subystems and avoid the data structure conversion. Introduce dedicated header file resource_ext.h instead of embedding it into ioport.h to avoid header file inclusion order issues. 2015-02-05MIPS: cevt-r4k: Drop GIC special caseJames Hogan1-8/+0
The cevt-r4k driver used to call into the GIC driver to find whether the timer was pending, but only with External Interrupt Controller (EIC) mode, where the Cause.IP bits can't be used as they encode the interrupt priority level (Cause.RIPL) instead. However commit e9de688dac65 ("irqchip: mips-gic: Support local interrupts") changed the condition from cpu_has_veic to gic_present. This fails on cores such as P5600 which have a GIC but the local interrupts aren't routable by the GIC, causing c0_compare_int_usable() to consider the interrupt unusable so r4k_clockevent_init() fails. The previous behaviour, added in commit 98b67c37db33 ("MIPS: Add EIC support for GIC."), wasn't really correct either as far as I can tell, since P5600 apparently supports EIC mode too, and in any case the use of Cause.TI with r2 should have been sufficient anyway since commit 010c108d7af7 ("MIPS: PowerTV: Fix support for timer interrupts with > 64 external IRQs"). Therefore drop the call into the gic driver altogether, and add a comment in c0_compare_int_pending() to clarify that Cause.TI does get checked since MIPS r2. 2015-02-05IRQCHIP: mips-gic: Avoid rerouting timer IRQs for smp-cmpJames Hogan1-0/+27
Commit e9de688dac65 ("irqchip: mips-gic: Support local interrupts") changed the GIC irqchip driver so that all local interrupts were routed to the same CPU pin used for external interrupts. Unfortunately this causes a regression when smp-cmp is used. The CPUs are started by the bootloader and put in a timer based waiting poll loop, but when their timer interrupts are rerouted to a different IRQ pin which is not unmasked they never wake up. Since smp-cmp support is deprecated and everybody who was using it should be switching to smp-cps which brings up the secondary CPUs without bootloader assistance, I've gone for the simple fix which can be easily removed once smp-cmp is removed, rather than a fully generic fix. In __gic_init() the local GIC_VPE_TIMER_MAP register is read to find the boot-time routing of the local timer interrupt, and a chained handler is added to that CPU pin as well as the normal one. 2015-02-04dmaengine: at_xdmac: allow muliple dwidths when doing slave transfersLudovic Desroches1-5/+10
When using FIFO, we need to support differents data width in a single transfer. For example, serial device which usually uses 1-byte data width will use 4-bytes data width when using the FIFO. If the transfer size is not aligned on 4-bytes then the end of the transfer will be performed with 1-byte data-width. For that reason, at_xdmac_prep_slave_sg() now builds linked list descriptors using view 2 instead of view 1 so each of them can update the DWIDTH field into the Channel Configuration Register. 2015-02-05drm/cirrus: Limit modes depending on bpp optionTakashi Iwai4-2/+15
The commit [8975626ea35a: drm/cirrus: allow 32bpp framebuffers for cirrus drm] broke X modesetting driver because cirrus driver still provides the full list of modes up to 1280x1024 while the 32bpp can support only up to 800x600. We might be able to filter out the invalid modes in mode_valid callback, but unfortunately the bpp in question can't be referred there for now (let me know if there is a better way to retrieve the bpp for the probed fb). So, instead, this patch adds the bpp module option to specify the maximal bpp explicitly and limits the resolutions in get_modes depending on its value. The default value is set to 24 so that the existing stuff keeps working. If you need a new 32bpp feature, specify cirrus.bpp=32 option explicitly. 2015-02-04IB/mlx4: Load balance ports in port aggregation modeMoni Shoua4-0/+29
When the mlx4 IB (RoCE) device works in link aggregation mode, it exposes a single port to upper layers. Therefore, applications always set '1' in port_num attribute when modifying a QP or creating an address handle. To make sure that a node uses all available ports the mlx4 driver will override the port_num attribute with a round robin policy. 2015-02-04IB/mlx4: Create mirror flows in port aggregation modeMoni Shoua2-13/+80
In port aggregation mode flows for port #1 (the only port) should be mirrored on port #2. This is because packets can arrive from either physical ports. 2015-02-04IB/mlx4: Add port aggregation supportMoni Shoua1-6/+70
Register the interface with the mlx4 core driver with port aggregation support and check for port aggregation mode when the 'add' function is called. In this mode, only one physical port is reported to the upper layer (RoCE/IB core stack and ULPs). 2015-02-04net/mlx4_en: Port aggregation configurationMoni Shoua3-0/+189
Capture NETDEV events generated by the bonding driver and based on that make decisions of how to configure port aggregation in the mlx4 core driver. This includes setting the V2P port table and re-creating the interested interfaces in bonded/non-bonded mode.
