Add drm_fb_helper_memory_range_to_clip(), a helper function that
accepts an linear range of video memory and converts it into a
rectangle. The computed rectangle describes the damaged area in
terms of scanlines and pixels per scanline.
While at it, make the code more readable by using struct drm_rect
and related helpers.
The code was previously part of the deferred I/O helpers, but is
also useful for damage handling of regular write operations. Update
the deferred I/O code to use the new function.

Don't clip the damage rectangle against the viewport. This only
works if the viewport is located at the beginning of the video
memory and the video memory doesn't extend the screen (i.e., if
there's no overallocation).
Fbdev emulation transfers data from write operations into a
possible shadow buffer, then into a GEM buffer object, and finally
via graphics driver onto the screen.
If callers write outside the currently visible area, clipping the
damage rectangle against the viewport will loose these updates in
the shadow buffer and the fbdev's buffer object will contain stale
data. Panning the viewport to the stale area of the buffer will
display obsolete data.
Instead, mark all written areas as damaged, so that the damage
handler updates the buffer object from the shadow buffer for all
such areas. The graphics driver's later has the option of clipping
the damaged area against the viewport when updating the screen
from the buffer object.

The only difference being that RZ/V2L has additional registers to

100GbE Intel Wired LAN Driver Updates 2022-02-09
This series contains updates to ice driver only.
Brett adds support for QinQ. This begins with code refactoring and
re-organization of VLAN configuration functions to allow for
introduction of VSI VLAN ops to enable setting and calling of
respective operations based on device support of single or double
VLANs. Implementations are added for outer VLAN support.
To support QinQ, the device must be set to double VLAN mode (DVM).
In order for this to occur, the DDP package and NVM must also support
DVM. Functions to determine compatibility and properly configure the
device are added as well as setting the proper bits to advertise and
utilize the proper offloads. Support for VIRTCHNL_VF_OFFLOAD_VLAN_V2
is also included to allow for VF to negotiate and utilize this
functionality.

There is a regular need in the kernel to provide a way to declare having
a dynamically sized set of trailing elements in a structure. Kernel code
should always use “flexible array members”[1] for these cases. The older
style of one-element or zero-length arrays should no longer be used[2].
This helps with the ongoing efforts to globally enable -Warray-bounds
and get us closer to being able to tighten the FORTIFY_SOURCE routines
on memcpy().
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle and audited and fixed,
manually.

Some SPI-NAND chips do not have a proper on-die ECC engine providing
error correction/detection. This is particularly an issue on embedded
devices with limited resources because all the computations must
happen in software, unless an external hardware engine is provided.
These external engines are new and can be of two categories: external
or pipelined. Macronix is providing both, the former being already
supported. The second, however, is very SoC implementation dependent
and must be instantiated by the SPI host controller directly.
An entire subsystem has been contributed to support these engines which
makes the insertion into another subsystem such as SPI quite
straightforward without the need for a lot of specific functions.

In order for pipelined ECC engines to be able to enable/disable the ECC
engine only when needed and avoid races when future parallel-operations
will be supported, we need to provide the information about the use of
the ECC engine in the direct mapping hooks. As direct mapping
configurations are meant to be static, it is best to create two new
mappings: one for regular 'raw' accesses and one for accesses involving
correction. It is up to the driver to use or not the new ECC enable
boolean contained in the spi-mem operation.
As dirmaps are not free (they consume a few pages of MMIO address space)
and because these extra entries are only meant to be used by pipelined
engines, let's limit their use to this specific type of engine and save
a bit of memory with all the other setups.

Soon the SPI-NAND core will need a way to request a SPI controller to

pipelined integration of certain ECC engines, which are directly managed

Introduce a spi_mem_op additional field for this purpose: ecc.

Controllers can now provide a spi-mem capabilities structure. Let's make
use of it in spi_mem_controller_default_supports_op(). As we want to
check for DTR operations as well as normal operations in a single
helper, let's pull the necessary checks from spi_mem_dtr_supports_op()
for now.
However, because no controller provide these extra capabilities, this
change has no effect so far.

Introduce the support for another possible configuration: the ECC
engine may work as DMA master (pipelined) and move itself the data
to/from the NAND chip into the buffer, applying the necessary
corrections/computations on the fly.
This driver offers an ECC engine implementation that must be
instatiated from a SPI controller driver.

If no firmware was present at all (or, presumably, all of the
firmware files failed to parse), we end up unbinding by calling
device_release_driver(), which calls remove(), which then in
iwlwifi calls iwl_drv_stop(), freeing the 'drv' struct. However
the new code I added will still erroneously access it after it
was freed.
Set 'failure=false' in this case to avoid the access, all data
was already freed anyway.

CPUfreq governors request CPU frequencies using information
on current CPU usage. The CPPC driver converts them to
performance requests. Frequency targets are computed as:
target_freq = (util / cpu_capacity) * max_freq
target_freq is then clamped between [policy->min, policy->max].
The CPPC driver converts performance values to frequencies
(and vice-versa) using cppc_cpufreq_perf_to_khz() and
cppc_cpufreq_khz_to_perf(). These functions both use two different
factors depending on the range of the input value. For
cppc_cpufreq_khz_to_perf():
- (NOMINAL_PERF / NOMINAL_FREQ) or
- (LOWEST_PERF / LOWEST_FREQ)
and for cppc_cpufreq_perf_to_khz():
- (NOMINAL_FREQ / NOMINAL_PERF) or
- ((NOMINAL_PERF - LOWEST_FREQ) / (NOMINAL_PERF - LOWEST_PERF))
This means:
1- the functions are not inverse for some values:
(perf_to_khz(khz_to_perf(x)) != x)
2- cppc_cpufreq_perf_to_khz(LOWEST_PERF) can sometimes give
a different value from LOWEST_FREQ due to integer approximation
3- it is implied that performance and frequency are proportional
(NOMINAL_FREQ / NOMINAL_PERF) == (LOWEST_PERF / LOWEST_FREQ)
This patch changes the conversion functions to an affine function.
This fixes the 3 points above.
