From 4.17 onwards the ixgbevf driver uses build_skb() to build an skb
around new data in the page buffer shared with the ixgbe PF.
This uses either a 2K or 3K buffer, and offsets the DMA mapping by
NET_SKB_PAD + NET_IP_ALIGN. When using a smaller buffer RXDCTL is set to
ensure the PF does not write a full 2K bytes into the buffer, which is
actually 2K minus the offset.
However on the 82599 virtual function, the RXDCTL mechanism is not
available. The driver attempts to work around this by using the SET_LPE
mailbox method to lower the maximm frame size, but the ixgbe PF driver
ignores this in order to keep the PF and all VFs in sync[0].
This means the PF will write up to the full 2K set in SRRCTL, causing it
to write NET_SKB_PAD + NET_IP_ALIGN bytes past the end of the buffer.
With 4K pages split into two buffers, this means it either writes
NET_SKB_PAD + NET_IP_ALIGN bytes past the first buffer (and into the
second), or NET_SKB_PAD + NET_IP_ALIGN bytes past the end of the DMA
mapping.
Avoid this by only enabling build_skb when using "large" buffers (3K).
These are placed in each half of an order-1 page, preventing the PF from
writing past the end of the mapping.
[0]: Technically it only ever raises the max frame size, see
ixgbe_set_vf_lpe() in ixgbe_sriov.c

Rather than tracking the number of receive buffer transactions that
have been submitted without a doorbell, just track the total number
of transactions that have been issued. Then ring the doorbell when
that number modulo the replenish batch size is 0.
The effect is roughly the same, but the new count is slightly more
interesting, and this approach will someday allow the replenish
batch size to be tuned at runtime.

Replenishing is now solely driven by whether transactions are
available for a channel, and it doesn't really matter whether
we replenish before or after we deliver received packets to the
network stack.
Replenishing before delivering the payload adds a little latency.
Eliminate that by requesting a replenish after the payload is
delivered.

We no longer use the replenish_backlog atomic variable to decide
when we've got work to do providing receive buffers to hardware.
Basically, we try to keep the hardware as full as possible, all the
time. We keep supplying buffers until the hardware has no more
space for them.
As a result, we can get rid of the replenish_backlog field and the
atomic operations performed on it.

Create a new function that returns true if all transactions for a
channel are available for use.
Use it in ipa_endpoint_replenish_enable() to see whether to start
replenishing, and in ipa_endpoint_replenish() to determine whether
it's necessary after a failure to schedule delayed work to ensure a
future replenish attempt occurs.

When replenishing, have ipa_endpoint_replenish() allocate a
transaction, and pass that to ipa_endpoint_replenish_one() to fill.
Then, if that produces no error, commit the transaction within the
replenish loop as well. In this way we can distinguish between
transaction failures and buffer allocation/mapping failures.
Failure to allocate a transaction simply means the hardware already
has as many receive buffers as it can hold. In that case we can
break out of the replenish loop because there's nothing more to do.
If we fail to allocate or map pages for the receive buffer, just
try again later.

A transaction failure only occurs if no more transactions are
available for an endpoint. It's a very cheap test.
When replenishing an RX endpoint buffer, there's no point in
allocating pages if transactions are exhausted. So don't bother
doing so unless the transaction allocation succeeds.

The replenish_saved field keeps track of the number of times a new
buffer is added to the backlog when replenishing is disabled. We
don't really use it though, so there's no need for us to track it
separately. Whether replenishing is enabled or not, we can simply
increment the backlog.
Get rid of replenish_saved, and initialize and increment the backlog
where it would have otherwise been used.

The recent overhaul of pci_irq_get_affinity() introduced a regression when
pci_irq_get_affinity() is called for an MSI-X interrupt which was not
allocated with affinity descriptor information.
The original code just returned a NULL pointer in that case, but the rework
added a WARN_ON() under the assumption that the corresponding WARN_ON() in
the MSI case can be applied to MSI-X as well.
In fact the MSI warning in the original code does not make sense either
because it's legitimate to invoke pci_irq_get_affinity() for a MSI
interrupt which was not allocated with affinity descriptor information.
Remove it and just return NULL as the original code did.

It looks like the old QCOM_SCM_BOOT_SET_ADDR API is broken on some
MSM8916 firmware versions that implement the newer SMC32 calling
convention. It just returns -EINVAL no matter which arguments are
being passed.
This does not cause any problems downstream because it first tries
to use the new multi-cluster API replacement which is working fine.
Implement support for the multi-cluster variant of the SCM call
by attempting it first but still fallback to the old call in case
of an error. Also, to be absolutely sure only use the multi-cluster
variant with the SMC calling convention since older platforms should
not need this.

qcom_scm_set_cold/warm_boot_addr() currently take a cpumask parameter,
but it's not very useful because at the end we always set the same entry
address for all CPUs. This also allows speeding up probe of
cpuidle-qcom-spm a bit because only one SCM call needs to be made to
the TrustZone firmware, instead of one per CPU.
The main reason for this change is that it allows implementing the
"multi-cluster" variant of the set_boot_addr() call more easily
without having to rely on functions that break in certain build
configurations or that are not exported to modules.

The qcom_scm_set_cold/warm_boot_addr() implementations have a lot of
functionality that is actually not used.
For example, set_warm_boot_addr() caches the last used entry address
and skips making the SCM call when the entry address is unchanged.
But there is actually just a single call of qcom_scm_set_warm_boot_addr()
in the whole kernel tree, which always configures the entry address
to cpu_resume_arm().
Simplify this by having a single qcom_scm_set_boot_addr() function
for both cold and warm boot address. This is totally sufficient for
the functionality supported in the mainline tree.

At the moment, the "qcom-spm-cpuidle" platform device is always created,
even if none of the CPUs is actually managed by the SPM. On non-qcom
platforms this will result in infinite probe-deferral due to the
failing qcom_scm_is_available() call.
To avoid this, look through the CPU DT nodes and check if there is
actually any CPU managed by a SPM (as indicated by the qcom, saw property).
It should also be available because e.g. MSM8916 has qcom, saw defined
but it's typically not enabled with ARM64/PSCI firmwares.
This is needed in preparation of a follow-up change that calls
qcom_scm_set_warm_boot_addr() a single time before registering any
cpuidle drivers. Otherwise this call might be made even on devices
that have this driver enabled but actually make use of PSCI.

segmenents needs to be duplicated in qcom_mdt_read_metadata().
Split out the existing logic to a helper function that can be used in
both code paths.

Starting with Qualcomm SM8450, some new security enhancements has been
done in the secure world, which results in the requirement to keep the
metadata segment accessible by the secure world from init_image() until
auth_and_reset().
Introduce a "PAS metadata context" object that can be passed to
init_image() for tracking the mapped memory and a related release
function for client drivers to release the mapping once either
auth_and_reset() has been invoked or in error handling paths on the way
there.

There was a race condition in access to hw->aq.asq_last_status
while adding and deleting MAC/VLAN filters causing
incorrect error status to be printed as ERROR OK instead of
the correct error.
Change calls to i40e_aq_add_macvlan in i40e_aqc_add_filters
and i40e_aq_remove_macvlan in i40e_aqc_del_filters
to _v2 versions that return Admin Queue status on the stack
to avoid race conditions in access to hw->aq.asq_last_status.

ASQ send command functions are returning only i40e status codes
yet some calling functions also need Admin Queue status
that is stored in hw->aq.asq_last_status. Since hw object
is stored on a heap it introduces a possibility for
a race condition in access to hw if calling function is not
fast enough to read hw->aq.asq_last_status before next
send ASQ command is executed.
Add new _v2 version of i40e_aq_add_macvlan that is using
new _v2 versions of ASQ send command functions and returns
the Admin Queue status on the stack.

Change functions:
- i40e_aq_add_macvlan
- i40e_aq_remove_macvlan
- i40e_aq_delete_element
- i40e_aq_add_vsi
- i40e_aq_update_vsi_params
to explicitly use i40e_asq_send_command_atomic(..., true)
instead of i40e_asq_send_command, as they use mutexes and do some
work in an atomic context.
Without this change setting vlan via netdev will fail with
call trace cased by bug "BUG: scheduling while atomic".

After commit 1a557afc4dd5 ("i40e: Refactor receive routine"),
rx_stats.realloc_count is no longer being incremented, so remove it.
The debugfs string was left, but hardcoded to 0. This is intended to
prevent breaking any existing code / scripts that are parsing debugfs
for i40e.

Writes to a Downstream Port's Slot Control register are PCIe hotplug
"commands." If the Port supports Command Completed events, software must
wait for a command to complete before writing to Slot Control again.
pcie_do_write_cmd() sets ctrl->cmd_busy when it writes to Slot Control. If
software notification is enabled, i.e., PCI_EXP_SLTCTL_HPIE and
PCI_EXP_SLTCTL_CCIE are set, ctrl->cmd_busy is cleared by pciehp_isr().
But when software notification is disabled, as it is when pcie_init()
powers off an empty slot, pcie_wait_cmd() uses pcie_poll_cmd() to poll for
command completion, and it neglects to clear ctrl->cmd_busy, which leads to
spurious timeouts:
pcieport 0000:00:03.0: pciehp: Timeout on hotplug command 0x01c0 (issued 2264 msec ago)
pcieport 0000:00:03.0: pciehp: Timeout on hotplug command 0x05c0 (issued 2288 msec ago)
Clear ctrl->cmd_busy in pcie_poll_cmd() when it detects a Command Completed
event (PCI_EXP_SLTSTA_CC).

Only x86 and in some cases PPC have support added in drm_cache.c for the
clflush class of functions. However warning once is sufficient to taint
the log instead of spamming it with "Architecture has no drm_cache.c
support" every few millisecond. Switch to WARN_ONCE() so we still get
the log message, but only once, together with the warning. E.g:
------------[ cut here ]------------
Architecture has no drm_cache.c support
WARNING: CPU: 80 PID: 888 at drivers/gpu/drm/drm_cache.c:139 drm_clflush_sg+0x40/0x50 [drm]
...
v2 (Jani): use WARN_ONCE() and keep the message previously on pr_err()

When the hardware issues an HFI event, relay a notification to user space.
This allows user space to respond by reading performance and efficiency of
each CPU and take appropriate action.
For example, when the performance and efficiency of a CPU is 0, user space
can either offline the CPU or inject idle. Also, if user space notices a
downward trend in performance, it may proactively adjust power limits to
avoid future situations in which performance drops to 0.
To avoid excessive notifications, the rate is limited by one HZ per event.
To limit the netlink message size, send parameters for up to 16 CPUs in a
single message. If there are more than 16 CPUs, issue as many messages as
needed to notify the status of all CPUs.
In the HFI specification, both performance and efficiency capabilities are
defined in the [0, 255] range. The existing implementations of HFI hardware
do not scale the maximum values to 255. Since userspace cares about
capability values that are either 0 or show a downward/upward trend, this
fact does not matter much. Relative changes in capabilities are enough. To
comply with the thermal netlink ABI, scale both performance and efficiency
capabilities to the [0, 1023] interval.
