2022-08-25udmabuf: Set ubuf->sg = NULL if the creation of sg table failsVivek Kasireddy1-3/+6
When userspace tries to map the dmabuf and if for some reason (e.g. OOM) the creation of the sg table fails, ubuf->sg needs to be set to NULL. 2022-08-25HID: input: fix uclogic tabletsBenjamin Tissoires1-1/+4
commit 87562fcd1342 ("HID: input: remove the need for HID_QUIRK_INVERT") made the assumption that it was the only one handling tablets and thus kept an internal state regarding the tool. Turns out that the uclogic driver has a timer to release the in range bit, effectively making hid-input ignoring all in range information after the very first one. Fix that by having a more rationale approach which consists in forwarding every event and let the input stack filter out the duplicates. The touchbar on Apple T2 Macs has 2 modes, one that shows the function keys and other that shows the media controls. The user can use the fn key on his keyboard to switch between the 2 modes. 2022-08-25HID: add Lenovo Yoga C630 battery quirkSteev Klimaszewski2-0/+3
Similar to the Surface Go devices, the Elantech touchscreen/digitizer in the Lenovo Yoga C630 mistakenly reports the battery of the stylus, and always reports an empty battery. Apply the HID_BATTERY_QUIRK_IGNORE quirk to ignore this battery and prevent the erroneous low battery warnings. 2022-08-25HID: AMD_SFH: Add a DMI quirk entry for ChromebooksAkihiko Odaki1-0/+18
Google Chromebooks use Chrome OS Embedded Controller Sensor Hub instead of Sensor Hub Fusion and leaves MP2 uninitialized, which disables all functionalities, even including the registers necessary for feature detections. 2022-08-25hid: intel-ish-hid: ishtp: Fix ishtp client sending disordered messageEven Xu1-29/+39
There is a timing issue captured during ishtp client sending stress tests. It was observed during stress tests that ISH firmware is getting out of ordered messages. This is a rare scenario as the current set of ISH client drivers don't send much data to firmware. But this may not be the case going forward. When message size is bigger than IPC MTU, ishtp splits the message into fragments and uses serialized async method to send message fragments. The call stack: ishtp_cl_send_msg_ipc->ipc_tx_callback(first fregment)-> ishtp_send_msg(with callback)->write_ipc_to_queue-> write_ipc_from_queue->callback->ipc_tx_callback(next fregment)...... When an ipc write complete interrupt is received, driver also calls write_ipc_from_queue->ipc_tx_callback in ISR to start sending of next fragment. Through ipc_tx_callback uses spin_lock to protect message splitting, as the serialized sending method will call back to ipc_tx_callback again, so it doesn't put sending under spin_lock, it causes driver cannot guarantee all fragments be sent in order. Considering this scenario: ipc_tx_callback just finished a fragment splitting, and not call ishtp_send_msg yet, there is a write complete interrupt happens, then ISR->write_ipc_from_queue ->ipc_tx_callback->ishtp_send_msg->write_ipc_to_queue...... Because ISR has higher exec priority than normal thread, this causes the new fragment be sent out before previous fragment. This disordered message causes invalid message to firmware. The solution is, to send fragments synchronously: Use ishtp_write_message writing fragments into tx queue directly one by one, instead of ishtp_send_msg only writing one fragment with completion callback. As no completion callback be used, so change ipc_tx_callback to ipc_tx_send. 2022-08-25HID: asus: ROG NKey: Ignore portion of 0x5a reportJosh Kilmer1-0/+7
On an Asus G513QY, of the 5 bytes in a 0x5a report, only the first byte is a meaningful keycode. The other bytes are zeroed out or hold garbage from the last packet sent to the keyboard. This patch fixes up the report descriptor for this event so that the general hid code will only process 1 byte for keycodes, avoiding spurious key events and unmapped Asus vendor usagepage code warnings. 2022-08-25nfp: flower: support case of match on ct_state(0/0x3f)Wenjuan Geng1-2/+7
is_post_ct_flow() function will process only ct_state ESTABLISHED, then offload_pre_check() function will check FLOW_DISSECTOR_KEY_CT flag. When config tc filter match ct_state(0/0x3f), dissector->used_keys with FLOW_DISSECTOR_KEY_CT bit, function offload_pre_check() will return false, so not offload. This is a special case that can be handled safely. Therefore, modify to let initial packet which won't go through conntrack can be offloaded, as long as the cared ct fields are all zero. 2022-08-25efi: libstub: Disable struct randomizationArd Biesheuvel1-0/+7
The EFI stub is a wrapper around the core kernel that makes it look like a EFI compatible PE/COFF application to the EFI firmware. EFI applications run on top of the EFI runtime, which is heavily based on so-called protocols, which are struct types consisting [mostly] of function pointer members that are instantiated and recorded in a protocol database. These structs look like the ideal randomization candidates to the randstruct plugin (as they only carry function pointers), but of course, these protocols are contracts between the firmware that exposes them, and the EFI applications (including our stubbed kernel) that invoke them. This means that struct randomization for EFI protocols is not a great idea, and given that the stub shares very little data with the core kernel that is represented as a randomizable struct, we're better off just disabling it completely here. Before this commit when we want userspace to use the acpi_video backlight device we register both the GPU's native backlight device and acpi_video's firmware acpi_video# backlight device. This relies on userspace preferring firmware type backlight devices over native ones. Registering 2 backlight devices for a single display really is undesirable, don't register the GPU's native backlight device when another backlight device should be used. Changes in v2: - To avoid linker errors when amdgpu is builtin and video_detect.c is in a module, select ACPI_VIDEO and its deps if ACPI is enabled. When ACPI is disabled, ACPI_VIDEO is also always disabled, ensuring the stubs from acpi/video.h will be used. Changes in v3: - Use drm_info(drm_dev, "...") to log messages - ACPI_VIDEO can now be enabled on non X86 too, adjust the Kconfig changes to match this. Introduce a simple helper function to replace a common pattern. When accessing the GRO header, we fetch the pointer from frag0, then test its validity and fetch it from the skb when necessary. This leads to the pattern skb_gro_header_fast -> skb_gro_header_hard -> skb_gro_header_slow recurring many times throughout GRO code. This patch replaces these patterns with a single inlined function call, improving code readability. 2022-08-24mm: add NR_SECONDARY_PAGETABLE to count secondary page table uses.Yosry Ahmed1-0/+2
We keep track of several kernel memory stats (total kernel memory, page tables, stack, vmalloc, etc) on multiple levels (global, per-node, per-memcg, etc). These stats give insights to users to how much memory is used by the kernel and for what purposes. Currently, memory used by KVM mmu is not accounted in any of those kernel memory stats. This patch series accounts the memory pages used by KVM for page tables in those stats in a new NR_SECONDARY_PAGETABLE stat. This stat can be later extended to account for other types of secondary pages tables (e.g. iommu page tables). KVM has a decent number of large allocations that aren't for page tables, but for most of them, the number/size of those allocations scales linearly with either the number of vCPUs or the amount of memory assigned to the VM. KVM's secondary page table allocations do not scale linearly, especially when nested virtualization is in use. From a KVM perspective, NR_SECONDARY_PAGETABLE will scale with KVM's per-VM pages_{4k,2m,1g} stats unless the guest is doing something bizarre (e.g. accessing only 4kb chunks of 2mb pages so that KVM is forced to allocate a large number of page tables even though the guest isn't accessing that much memory). However, someone would need to either understand how KVM works to make that connection, or know (or be told) to go look at KVM's stats if they're running VMs to better decipher the stats. Furthermore, having NR_PAGETABLE side-by-side with NR_SECONDARY_PAGETABLE is informative. For example, when backing a VM with THP vs. HugeTLB, NR_SECONDARY_PAGETABLE is roughly the same, but NR_PAGETABLE is an order of magnitude higher with THP. So having this stat will at the very least prove to be useful for understanding tradeoffs between VM backing types, and likely even steer folks towards potential optimizations.
