The at91 mci controller internal state machine seems to often crash. This can be fixed by resetting the controller after each command for at91rm9200 and by setting the MCI_BLKR register on at91sam926*. Support for the at91sam9g20 : Atmel 400Mhz ARM 926ej-s SOC. AT91sam9g20 is an evolution of the at91sam9260 with a faster clock speed. We created a new board for this device but based the chip support directly on 9260 files with little updates. This is patch 2 of 2 adding support for the USB High Speed Device Port on the AT91CAP9 system on chip. The AT91CAP9 uses the same UDPHS IP as the AVR32 and the AT91SAM9RL. This patch declares the UDPHS ressources in the at91cap9 (cpu and adk board) files, wires up the atmel_usba_udc driver to them, and activates the driver in the defconfig. AT91 has one include loop in its header files: include/asm-arm/io.h <- include/asm-arm/arch-at91/io.h <- include/asm-arm/io.h Circular include dependencies are dangerous since they can result in inconsistent definitions being provided to other code, especially if '#ifndef' constructs are used. The AT91CAP9 processor includes the same Static Memory Controller (SMC) peripheral as the SAM9 processors, but replaces the SDRAM Controller with a DDR/SDR Controller (DDRSDRC). This patch splits the existing include/asm-arm/arch-at91/at91sam926x_mc.h into at91sam9_sdramc.h and at91sam9_smc.h. It also adds an at91cap9_ddrsdr.h for the DDRSDRC controller. Currently early kernel messages, i.e., those from uncompression, go to the debugging UART. And if it is enabled in the platform configuration, but not initialized by the bootloader, the machine hangs, waiting for UART status change. Besides, having those messages on another UART - typically the console UART - may be preferrable. This patch allows selecting the UART in kernel configuration. Most UDC drivers supporting a GPIO based pullup should probably have such an option, but testing it requries such a board in hand! Modify the UART initialization to allow the board-initialization code to specify which pins are connected, and which pins should therefore be initialized. The current at91_init_serial() will continue to work as-is, but is marked as "deprecated" and will be removed once the board-specific files has been updated to use the new interface. The AT91 I2C driver is currently marked as "broken" due to hardware issues. This patch enables AT91-based platforms to also use the bitbanged GPIO for I2C. This updates platform setup logic (setting up an i2c-gpio device using the same pins as the i2c-at91 device, unless only the BROKEN driver is enabled). Also make use of the new-style initialization of I2C devices using i2c_register_board_info(). 2007-05-09Use common cpu_is_xxx() macros on AT91 and AVR32Haavard Skinnemoen1-0/+6
Several drivers shared between AT91 and AVR32 chips use cpu_is_xxx() to handle CPU-specific differences. Currently, such code needs to be inside #ifdef CONFIG_ARCH_AT91 because the macros don't exist on AVR32. By defining the same macros on both AT91 and AVR32, these #ifdefs can be eliminated. Since the macros will evaluate to a constant value for CPUs that aren't supported by the current architecture, any code that is only needed on AT91 will be optimized away on AVR32 and vice versa. 2007-03-16[PATCH] gpio_direction_output() needs an initial valueDavid Brownell1-1/+1
It's been pointed out that output GPIOs should have an initial value, to avoid signal glitching ... among other things, it can be some time before a driver is ready. This patch corrects that oversight, fixing - documentation - platforms supporting the GPIO interface - users of that call (just one for now, others are pending) There's only one user of this call for now since most platforms are still using non-generic GPIO setup code, which in most cases already couples the initial value with its "set output mode" request. Note that most platforms are clear about the hardware letting the output value be set before the pin direction is changed, but the s3c241x docs are vague on that topic ... so those chips might not avoid the glitches.
