2007-10-16imxfb: fast read flag and nonstandard field configurablePavel Pisa1-0/+1
The i.MX frame-buffer read operation should be faster for all configurations then drawing each individual character again in response to scroll events. The nonstandard fields allows to configure frame-buffer special options flags for different display configurations by board specific initialization code. One of such specific options is reversed order of pixels in each individual byte. i.MX frame-buffer seems to be designed for big-endian use first. The byte order is correctly configured for little-endian ordering, but if 1, 2 or 4 bits per pixel are used, pixels ordering is incompatible to Linux generic frame-buffer drawing functions. The patch "Allow generic BitBLT functions to work with swapped pixel order in bytes" introduces required functionality into FBDEV core. The pixels ordering selection has to be enabled at compile time CONFIG_FB_CFB_REV_PIXELS_IN_BYTE and for each display configuration which requires it by flag FB_NONSTD_REV_PIX_IN_B in "nonstd" field of info structure. This patch provides way for board specific code to select this option. Support for generic input output for MX1 family. The implementation prevents allocation of one pin by two users, but does not store pointer to the user description permanently, because this solution would have bigger memory overhead. The simple way to integrate code with per BSP pins setup and allocation is required else all GPIO registration checking is useless. get_irqnr_preamble allows machines to take some action before entering the get_irqnr_and_base loop. On iop we enable cp6 access. arch_ret_to_user is added to the userspace return path to allow individual architectures to take actions, like disabling coprocessor access, before the final return to userspace. Per Nicolas Pitre's note, there is no need to cp_wait on the return to user as the latency to return is sufficient. This is almost the same as the 'BIS' version sent by Andrea, except for updating the 'DUMMY' byte so that read-only transfers shift out zeroes. That part of the API changed recently, since some half duplex peripheral chips require that semantic. Patch from Pavel Pisa This patch adds support of i.MX/MX1 SD/MMC controller. It has been significantly redesigned from the original Sascha Hauer's version to support scatter-gather DMA, to conform to latest Pierre Ossman's and Russell King's MMC-SD Linux 2.6.x infrastructure. The handling of all events has been moved to the softirq context and is designed with no busy-looping in mind. Unfortunately some controller bugs has to be overcome by limited looping about 2-20 usec but these are observed only for initial card recognition phase. There are still some missing/missed IRQs problems under heavy load. Help of somebody with access to the full SDHC design information is probably necessary. Regenerated against 2.6.16-git-060402 to solve clash with other patches. asm/arch/irq.h used to be included from asm/irq.h, but was removed from the ARM kernel a long time ago. Consequently, the contents of asm/arch/irq.h (which mostly contain a definition for fixup_irq()) have not been used. Hence, remove asm/arch/irq.h. Some machine support files incorrectly included this file, making little or no use of the contents. Move the contents to a local include file, and remove those include statements as well. arch/arm/kernel/entry-armv.S has contained a comment suggesting that asm/hardware.h and asm/arch/irqs.h should be moved into the asm/arch/entry-macro.S include. So move the includes to these two files as required. Add missing includes (asm/hardware.h, asm/io.h) to asm/arch/system.h includes which use those facilities, and remove asm/io.h from kernel/process.c. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
