The rawmidi state flags (opened, append, active_sensing) are stored in
bit fields that can be potentially racy when concurrently accessed
without any locks. Although the current code should be fine, there is
also no any real benefit by keeping the bitfields for this kind of
short number of members.
This patch changes those bit fields flags to the simple bool fields.
There should be no size increase of the snd_rawmidi_substream by this
change.

Currently a mac80211 driver can only set the txq_limit when using
wake_tx_queue. Not all drivers use wake_tx_queue. This patch adds a new
element to wiphy allowing a driver to set a custom tx_queue_len and the
code that will apply it in case it is set. The current default is

With multiple VIFS ath10k, and probably others, tries to find the
minimum txpower for all vifs and uses that when setting txpower in
the firmware.
If a second vif is added and starts to scan, it's txpower is not
initialized yet and it set to zero.
ath10k had a patch to ignore zero values, but then it is impossible
to actually set txpower to zero.
So, instead initialize the txpower to INT_MIN in mac80211, and let
drivers know that means the power has not been set and so should
be ignored.
This should fix regression in:

Unlike DP 1.2 edid corruption test, DP 1.4 requires to calculate
real CRC value of the last edid data block, and write it back.
Current edid CRC calculates routine adds the last CRC byte,
and check if non-zero.
This behavior is not accurate; actually, we need to return
the actual CRC value when corruption is detected.
This commit changes this issue by returning the calculated CRC,
and initiate the required sequence.

All non-legacy users of VBLANK functions in struct drm_driver have been
converted to use the respective interfaces in struct drm_crtc_funcs. The
remaining users of VBLANK callbacks in struct drm_driver are legacy drivers
with userspace modesetting.
All users of struct drm_driver.get_scanout_position() have been
converted to the respective CRTC helper function. Remove the callback
from struct drm_driver.
There are no users left of get_vblank_timestamp(), so the callback is
being removed. The other VBLANK callbacks are being moved to the legacy

The new callback get_scanout_position() reads the current location
of the scanout process. The operation is currently located in struct
drm_driver, but really belongs to the CRTC. Drivers will be converted
in separate patches.
To help with the conversion, the timestamp calculation has been
moved from drm_calc_vbltimestamp_from_scanoutpos() to
drm_crtc_vblank_helper_get_vblank_timestamp_internal(). The helper
function supports the new and old interface of get_scanout_position().
drm_calc_vbltimestamp_from_scanoutpos() remains as a wrapper around
the new function.
Callback functions return the scanout position from the CRTC. The
legacy version of the interface receives the device and pipe index,
the modern version receives a pointer to the CRTC. We keep the
legacy version until all drivers have been converted.

Notice that pm_qos_remove_notifier() is not used at all and the only
caller of pm_qos_add_notifier() is the cpuidle core, which only needs
the PM_QOS_CPU_DMA_LATENCY notifier to invoke wake_up_all_idle_cpus()
upon changes of the PM_QOS_CPU_DMA_LATENCY target value.
First, to ensure that wake_up_all_idle_cpus() will be called
whenever the PM_QOS_CPU_DMA_LATENCY target value changes, modify the
pm_qos_add/update/remove_request() family of functions to check if
the effective constraint for the PM_QOS_CPU_DMA_LATENCY has changed
and call wake_up_all_idle_cpus() directly in that case.

First, change the definition of struct pm_qos_request so that it

of a PM QoS class number (in preparation for dropping the PM QoS
classes concept altogether going forward) and move its definition
(along with the definition of struct pm_qos_flags_request that does
not change) after the definition of struct pm_qos_constraints.
Next, drop the definition of struct pm_qos_object and the null_pm_qos
and cpu_dma_pm_qos variables of that type along with pm_qos_array[]
holding pointers to them and change the code to refer to the
pm_qos_constraints structure directly or to use the new qos pointer
in struct pm_qos_request for that instead of going through
pm_qos_array[] to access it. Also update kerneldoc comments that
mention pm_qos_class to refer to PM_QOS_CPU_DMA_LATENCY directly
instead.
Finally, drop register_pm_qos_misc(), introduce cpu_latency_qos_miscdev
(with the name field set to "cpu_dma_latency") to implement the
CPU latency QoS interface in /dev/ and register it directly from

Current soc_pcm_open() calls snd_soc_component_open() under loop.
Thus, it needs to care about opened/not-yet-opened Component.
But, if soc-component.c is handling it, soc-pcm.c don't need to care
about it.
This patch adds opened flag to soc-component.h, and simplify soc-pcm.c.
This is one of prepare for cleanup soc-pcm-open()

This adds support for creating a process in a different cgroup than its
parent. Callers can limit and account processes and threads right from
the moment they are spawned:
- A service manager can directly spawn new services into dedicated
cgroups.
- A process can be directly created in a frozen cgroup and will be
frozen as well.
- The initial accounting jitter experienced by process supervisors and
daemons is eliminated with this.
- Threaded applications or even thread implementations can choose to
create a specific cgroup layout where each thread is spawned
directly into a dedicated cgroup.
This feature is limited to the unified hierarchy. Callers need to pass
a directory file descriptor for the target cgroup. The caller can
choose to pass an O_PATH file descriptor. All usual migration
restrictions apply, i.e. there can be no processes in inner nodes. In
general, creating a process directly in a target cgroup adheres to all
migration restrictions.
One of the biggest advantages of this feature is that CLONE_INTO_GROUP does
not need to grab the write side of the cgroup cgroup_threadgroup_rwsem.
This global lock makes moving tasks/threads around super expensive. With
clone3() this lock is avoided.

Convert cpuset_hotplug_workfn() into synchronous call for cpu hotplug
path. For memory hotplug path it still gets queued as a work item.
Since cpuset_hotplug_workfn() can be made synchronous for cpu hotplug
path, it is not required to wait for cpuset hotplug while thawing
processes.

css_task_iter stores pointer to head of each iterable list, this dates
back to commit 0f0a2b4fa621 ("cgroup: reorganize css_task_iter") when we
did not store cur_cset. Let us utilize list heads directly in cur_cset
and streamline css_task_iter_advance_css_set a bit. This is no
intentional function change.

PF_EXITING is set earlier than actual removal from css_set when a task
is exitting. This can confuse cgroup.procs readers who see no PF_EXITING
tasks, however, rmdir is checking against css_set membership so it can
transitionally fail with EBUSY.
Fix this by listing tasks that weren't unlinked from css_set active
lists.
It may happen that other users of the task iterator (without
CSS_TASK_ITER_PROCS) spot a PF_EXITING task before cgroup_exit(). This
is equal to the state before commit c03cd7738a83 ("cgroup: Include dying
leaders with live threads in PROCS iterations") but it may be reviewed
later.

It's desirable to be able to rely on the following property: All stores
preceding (in program order) a call to a successful queue_work() will be
visible from the CPU which will execute the queued work by the time such
work executes, e.g.,
{ x is initially 0 }
CPU0 CPU1
WRITE_ONCE(x, 1); [ "work" is being executed ]
r0 = queue_work(wq, work); r1 = READ_ONCE(x);
Forbids: r0 == true && r1 == 0
The current implementation of queue_work() provides such memory-ordering
property:
- In __queue_work(), the ->lock spinlock is acquired.
- On the other side, in worker_thread(), this same ->lock is held
when dequeueing work.
So the locking ordering makes things work out.
Add this property to the DocBook headers of {queue,schedule}_work().
