2017-12-21batman-adv: Convert packet.h to uapi headerSven Eckelmann1-1/+1
The header file is used by different userspace programs to inject packets or to decode sniffed packets. It should therefore be available to them as userspace header. Also other components in the kernel (like the flow dissector) require access to the packet definitions to be able to decode ETH_P_BATMAN ethernet packets. The "Linux kernel licensing rules" require that each file has a SPDX license identifier as first line (and sometimes as second line). The FSFE REUSE practices [1] would also require the same tags but have no restrictions on the placement in the source file. Using the "Linux kernel licensing rules" is therefore also fulfilling the FSFE REUSE practices requirements at the same time. 2017-03-04batman-adv: Initialize gw sel_class via batadv_algoSven Eckelmann1-0/+5
The gateway selection class variable is shared between different algorithm versions. But the interpretation of the content is algorithm specific. The initialization is therefore also algorithm specific. But this was implemented incorrectly and the initialization for BATMAN_V always overwrote the value previously written for BATMAN_IV. The tvlv functionality in main.c is mostly unrelated to the rest of the content. It still takes up a large portion of this source file (~45%, 588 lines). To reduce the field pollution in our main batadv_priv data structure we've already created some substructures so that we could group fields in a convenient manner. 2016-02-29batman-adv: add throughput override attribute to hard_ifacesAntonio Quartulli1-2/+2
This attribute is exported to user space to disable the link throughput auto-detection by setting a fixed value. The throughput override value is used when batman-adv is computing the link throughput towards a neighbour. If the value is set to 0 then batman-adv will try to detect the throughput by itself. 2015-08-25batman-adv: Fix gw_bandwidth calculation on 32 bit systemsSven Eckelmann1-7/+42
The TVLV for the gw_bandwidth stores everything as u32. But the gw_bandwidth reads the signed long which limits the maximum value to (2 ** 31 - 1) on systems with 4 byte long. Also the input value is always converted from either Mibit/s or Kibit/s to 100Kibit/s. This reduces the values even further when the user sets it via the default unit Kibit/s. It may even cause an integer overflow and end up with a value the user never intended. Instead read the values as u64, check for possible overflows, do the unit adjustments and then reduce the size to u32. 2015-06-07batman-adv: Add required includes to all filesSven Eckelmann1-1/+10
The header files could not be build indepdent from each other. This is happened because headers didn't include the files for things they've used. This was problematic because the success of a build depended on the knowledge about the right order of local includes. Also source files were not including everything they've used explicitly. Instead they required that transitive includes are always stable. This is problematic because some transitive includes are not obvious, depend on config settings and may not be stable in the future. The order for include blocks are: * primary headers (main.h and the *.h file of a *.c file) * global linux headers * required local headers * extra forward declarations for pointers in function/struct declarations The only exceptions are linux/bitops.h and linux/if_ether.h in packet.h. This header file is shared with userspace applications like batctl and must therefore build together with userspace applications. The header linux/bitops.h is not part of the uapi headers and linux/if_ether.h conflicts with the musl implementation of netinet/if_ether.h. The maintainers rejected the use of __KERNEL__ preprocessor checks and thus these two headers are only in main.h. All files using packet.h first have to include main.h to work correctly. 2014-10-14batman-adv: replace strnicmp with strncasecmpRasmus Villemoes1-4/+4
The kernel used to contain two functions for length-delimited, case-insensitive string comparison, strnicmp with correct semantics and a slightly buggy strncasecmp. The latter is the POSIX name, so strnicmp was renamed to strncasecmp, and strnicmp made into a wrapper for the new strncasecmp to avoid breaking existing users. To allow the compat wrapper strnicmp to be removed at some point in the future, and to avoid the extra indirection cost, do s/strnicmp/strncasecmp/g. The function batadv_gw_deselect() is actually not deselecting anything. It is just informing the GW code to perform a re-election procedure when possible. The current gateway is not being touched at all and therefore the name of this function is rather misleading. Rename it to batadv_gw_reselect() to batadv_gw_reselect() to make its behaviour easier to grasp. 2013-10-09batman-adv: tvlv - gateway download/upload bandwidth containerMarek Lindner1-83/+147
Prior to this patch batman-adv read the advertised uplink bandwidth from userspace and compressed this information into a single byte called "gateway class". Now the download & upload bandwidth information is sent as-is. No userspace change is necessary since the sysfs API always allowed to specify a bandwidth.
