2017-04-14esp: Use a synchronous crypto algorithm on offloading.Steffen Klassert1-2/+10
We need a fallback algorithm for crypto offloading to a NIC. This is because packets can be rerouted to other NICs that don't support crypto offloading. The fallback is going to be implemented at layer2 where we know the final output device but can't handle asynchronous returns fron the crypto layer. 2017-04-14esp: Add gso handlers for esp4 and esp6Steffen Klassert1-1/+9
This patch extends the xfrm_type by an encap function pointer and implements esp4_gso_encap and esp6_gso_encap. These functions doing the basic esp encapsulation for a GSO packet. In case the GSO packet needs to be segmented in software, we add gso_segment functions. This codepath is going to be used on esp hardware offloads. 2017-04-14esp4: Reorganize esp_outputSteffen Klassert1-158/+183
We need a fallback for ESP at layer 2, so split esp_output into generic functions that can be used at layer 3 and layer 2 and use them in esp_output. We also add esp_xmit which is used for the layer 2 fallback. Signed-off-by: Steffen Klassert <steffen.klassert@secunet.com>
2017-04-14xfrm: Add an IPsec hardware offloading APISteffen Klassert1-4/+3
This patch adds all the bits that are needed to do IPsec hardware offload for IPsec states and ESP packets. We add xfrmdev_ops to the net_device. xfrmdev_ops has function pointers that are needed to manage the xfrm states in the hardware and to do a per packet offloading decision. 2017-01-17esp4: Avoid skb_cow_data whenever possibleSteffen Klassert1-74/+264
This patch tries to avoid skb_cow_data on esp4. On the encrypt side we add the IPsec tailbits to the linear part of the buffer if there is space on it. If there is no space on the linear part, we add a page fragment with the tailbits to the buffer and use separate src and dst scatterlists. On the decrypt side, we leave the buffer as it is if it is not cloned. With this, we can avoid a linearization of the buffer in most of the cases. 2016-06-23esp: Fix ESN generation under UDP encapsulationHerbert Xu1-20/+32
Blair Steven noticed that ESN in conjunction with UDP encapsulation is broken because we set the temporary ESP header to the wrong spot. This patch fixes this by first of all using the right spot, i.e., 4 bytes off the real ESP header, and then saving this information so that after encryption we can restore it properly. 2015-05-28esp4: Switch to new AEAD interfaceHerbert Xu1-78/+122

2015-04-03ipv4: coding style: comparison for equality with NULLIan Morris1-1/+1
The ipv4 code uses a mixture of coding styles. 2014-11-06net: esp: Convert NETDEBUG to pr_infoJoe Perches1-5/+5
Commit 64ce207306de ("[NET]: Make NETDEBUG pure printk wrappers") originally had these NETDEBUG printks as always emitting. Commit a2a316fd068c ("[NET]: Replace CONFIG_NET_DEBUG with sysctl") added a net_msg_warn sysctl to these NETDEBUG uses. Convert these NETDEBUG uses to normal pr_info calls. This changes the output prefix from "ESP: " to include "IPSec: " for the ipv4 case and "IPv6: " for the ipv6 case. These output lines are now like the other messages in the files. 2013-08-05net: esp{4,6}: fix potential MTU calculation overflowsDaniel Borkmann1-1/+1
Commit 91657eafb ("xfrm: take net hdr len into account for esp payload size calculation") introduced a possible interger overflow in esp{4,6}_get_mtu() handlers in case of x->props.mode equals XFRM_MODE_TUNNEL. Thus, the following expression will overflow unsigned int net_adj; ... <case ipv{4,6} XFRM_MODE_TUNNEL> net_adj = 0; ... return ((mtu - x->props.header_len - crypto_aead_authsize(esp->aead) - net_adj) & ~(align - 1)) + (net_adj - 2); where (net_adj - 2) would be evaluated as <foo> + (0 - 2) in an unsigned context. Fix it by simply removing brackets as those operations here do not need to have special precedence. 2013-06-03ipv4: properly refresh rtable entries on pmtu/redirect eventsTimo Teräs1-5/+2
This reverts commit 05ab86c5 (xfrm4: Invalidate all ipv4 routes on IPsec pmtu events). Flushing all cached entries is not needed. Instead, invalidate only the related next hop dsts to recheck for the added next hop exception where needed. This also fixes a subtle race due to bumping generation id's before updating the pmtu. 2013-01-21xfrm4: Invalidate all ipv4 routes on IPsec pmtu eventsSteffen Klassert1-2/+5
On IPsec pmtu events we can't access the transport headers of the original packet, so we can't find the socket that sent the packet. The only chance to notify the socket about the pmtu change is to force a relookup for all routes. This patch implenents this for the IPsec protocols. 2013-01-08ah4/esp4: set transport header correctly for IPsec tunnel mode.Li RongQing1-1/+4
IPsec tunnel does not set ECN field to CE in inner header when the ECN field in the outer header is CE, and the ECN field in the inner header is ECT(0) or ECT(1). The cause is ipip_hdr() does not return the correct address of inner header since skb->transport-header is not the inner header after esp_input_done2(), or ah_input(). 2012-06-14ipv4: Handle PMTU in all ICMP error handlers.David S. Miller1-0/+1
With ip_rt_frag_needed() removed, we have to explicitly update PMTU information in every ICMP error handler. Create two helper functions to facilitate this. 1) ipv4_sk_update_pmtu() This updates the PMTU when we have a socket context to work with. 2) ipv4_update_pmtu() Raw version, used when no socket context is available. For this interface, we essentially just pass in explicit arguments for the flow identity information we would have extracted from the socket. And you'll notice that ipv4_sk_update_pmtu() is simply implemented in terms of ipv4_update_pmtu() Note that __ip_route_output_key() is used, rather than something like ip_route_output_flow() or ip_route_output_key(). This is because we absolutely do not want to end up with a route that does IPSEC encapsulation and the like. Instead, we only want the route that would get us to the node described by the outermost IP header. Reported-by: Steffen Klassert <steffen.klassert@secunet.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-05-27xfrm: take net hdr len into account for esp payload size calculationBenjamin Poirier1-15/+9
Corrects the function that determines the esp payload size. The calculations done in esp{4,6}_get_mtu() lead to overlength frames in transport mode for certain mtu values and suboptimal frames for others. According to what is done, mainly in esp{,6}_output() and tcp_mtu_to_mss(), net_header_len must be taken into account before doing the alignment calculation. 2012-03-11net: Convert printks to pr_<level>Joe Perches1-4/+4
Use a more current kernel messaging style. Convert a printk block to print_hex_dump. Coalesce formats, align arguments. Use %s, __func__ instead of embedding function names. Some messages that were prefixed with <foo>_close are now prefixed with <foo>_fini. Some ah4 and esp messages are now not prefixed with "ip ". The intent of this patch is to later add something like #define pr_fmt(fmt) "IPv4: " fmt. to standardize the output messages. Text size is trivially reduced. 2008-03-27[ESP]: Ensure IV is in linear part of the skb to avoid BUG() due to OOB accessThomas Graf1-1/+1
ESP does not account for the IV size when calling pskb_may_pull() to ensure everything it accesses directly is within the linear part of a potential fragment. 2007-10-30[NET]: Fix incorrect sg_mark_end() calls.David S. Miller1-5/+7
This fixes scatterlist corruptions added by commit 68e3f5dd4db62619fdbe520d36c9ebf62e672256 [CRYPTO] users: Fix up scatterlist conversion errors The issue is that the code calls sg_mark_end() which clobbers the sg_page() pointer of the final scatterlist entry. The first part fo the fix makes skb_to_sgvec() do __sg_mark_end(). After considering all skb_to_sgvec() call sites the most correct solution is to call __sg_mark_end() in skb_to_sgvec() since that is what all of the callers would end up doing anyways. I suspect this might have fixed some problems in virtio_net which is the sole non-crypto user of skb_to_sgvec(). Other similar sg_mark_end() cases were converted over to __sg_mark_end() as well. Arguably sg_mark_end() is a poorly named function because it doesn't just "mark", it clears out the page pointer as a side effect, which is what led to these bugs in the first place. The one remaining plain sg_mark_end() call is in scsi_alloc_sgtable() and arguably it could be converted to __sg_mark_end() if only so that we can delete this confusing interface from linux/scatterlist.h Signed-off-by: David S.
