2015-02-09bridge: Fix inability to add non-vlan fdb entryToshiaki Makita1-7/+5
Bridge's default_pvid adds a vid by default, by which we cannot add a non-vlan fdb entry by default, because br_fdb_add() adds fdb entries for all vlans instead of a non-vlan one when any vlan is configured. # ip link add br0 type bridge # ip link set eth0 master br0 # bridge fdb add 12:34:56:78:90:ab dev eth0 master temp # bridge fdb show brport eth0 | grep 12:34:56:78:90:ab 12:34:56:78:90:ab dev eth0 vlan 1 static We expect a non-vlan fdb entry as well as vlan 1: 12:34:56:78:90:ab dev eth0 static To fix this, we need to insert a non-vlan fdb entry if vlan is not specified, even when any vlan is configured. 2015-02-09net: dsa: Remove redundant phy_attach()Andrew Lunn1-13/+0
dsa_slave_phy_setup() finds the phy for the port via device tree and using of_phy_connect(), or it uses the fall back of taking a phy from the switch internal mdio bus and calling phy_connect_direct(). Either way, if a phy is found, phy_attach_direct() is called to attach the phy to the slave device. In dsa_slave_create(), a second call to phy_attach() is made. This results in the warning "PHY already attached". Remove this second, redundant attaching of the phy. 2015-02-08vxlan: Wrong type passed to %pISRasmus Villemoes1-1/+1
src_ip is a pointer to a union vxlan_addr, one member of which is a struct sockaddr. Passing a pointer to src_ip is wrong; one should pass the value of src_ip itself. Since %pIS formally expects something of type struct sockaddr*, let's pass a pointer to the appropriate union member, though this of course doesn't change the generated code. 2015-02-07amd-xgbe: Check per channel DMA interrupt use in main ISRLendacky, Thomas1-5/+6
When using per channel DMA interrupts the transmit interrupt (TI) and the receive interrupt (RI) are masked off so as to not generate an interrupt to the main ISR. However, should another interrupt fire for the DMA channel that is handled by the main ISR the TI/RI bits can still be set. This will cause the wrong and uninitialized napi structure to be used causing a panic. Add a check to be sure per channel DMA interrupts are not enabled before acting on those bit flags. 2015-02-07rtnetlink: ifla_vf_policy: fix misuses of NLA_BINARYDaniel Borkmann1-12/+6
ifla_vf_policy[] is wrong in advertising its individual member types as NLA_BINARY since .type = NLA_BINARY in combination with .len declares the len member as *max* attribute length [0, len]. The issue is that when do_setvfinfo() is being called to set up a VF through ndo handler, we could set corrupted data if the attribute length is less than the size of the related structure itself. The intent is exactly the opposite, namely to make sure to pass at least data of minimum size of len. 2015-02-06net: sxgbe: fix error handling in init_rx_ring()Dan Carpenter1-14/+43
There are a couple bugs with the error handling in this function. 1) If we can't allocate "rx_ring->rx_skbuff" then we should call dma_free_coherent() but we don't. 2) free_rx_ring() frees "rx_ring->rx_skbuff_dma" and "rx_ring->rx_skbuff" so calling it in a loop causes a double free. Also it was a bit confusing how we sometimes freed things before doing the goto. I've cleaned it up so it does error handling in normal kernel style. 2015-02-05pktgen: fix UDP checksum computationSabrina Dubroca1-8/+8
This patch fixes two issues in UDP checksum computation in pktgen. First, the pseudo-header uses the source and destination IP addresses. Currently, the ports are used for IPv4. Second, the UDP checksum covers both header and data. So we need to generate the data earlier (move pktgen_finalize_skb up), and compute the checksum for UDP header + data. 2015-02-05net: ipv6: allow explicitly choosing optimistic addressesErik Kline3-3/+23
RFC 4429 ("Optimistic DAD") states that optimistic addresses should be treated as deprecated addresses. From section 2.1: Unless noted otherwise, components of the IPv6 protocol stack should treat addresses in the Optimistic state equivalently to those in the Deprecated state, indicating that the address is available for use but should not be used if another suitable address is available. Optimistic addresses are indeed avoided when other addresses are available (i.e. at source address selection time), but they have not heretofore been available for things like explicit bind() and sendmsg() with struct in6_pktinfo, etc. This change makes optimistic addresses treated more like deprecated addresses than tentative ones. 2015-02-05flowcache: Fix kernel panic in flow_cache_flush_taskMiroslav Urbanek1-1/+1
flow_cache_flush_task references a structure member flow_cache_gc_work where it should reference flow_cache_flush_task instead. Kernel panic occurs on kernels using IPsec during XFRM garbage collection. The garbage collection interval can be shortened using the following sysctl settings: net.ipv4.xfrm4_gc_thresh=4 net.ipv6.xfrm6_gc_thresh=4 With the default settings, our productions servers crash approximately once a week. With the settings above, they crash immediately. 2015-02-04cls_api.c: Fix dumping of non-existing actions' stats.Ignacy Gawędzki1-3/+4
In tcf_exts_dump_stats(), ensure that exts->actions is not empty before accessing the first element of that list and calling tcf_action_copy_stats() on it. This fixes some random segvs when adding filters of type "basic" with no particular action. This also fixes the dumping of those "no-action" filters, which more often than not made calls to tcf_action_copy_stats() fail and consequently netlink attributes added by the caller to be removed by a call to nla_nest_cancel(). 2015-02-05drm/cirrus: Limit modes depending on bpp optionTakashi Iwai4-2/+15
The commit [8975626ea35a: drm/cirrus: allow 32bpp framebuffers for cirrus drm] broke X modesetting driver because cirrus driver still provides the full list of modes up to 1280x1024 while the 32bpp can support only up to 800x600. We might be able to filter out the invalid modes in mode_valid callback, but unfortunately the bpp in question can't be referred there for now (let me know if there is a better way to retrieve the bpp for the probed fb). So, instead, this patch adds the bpp module option to specify the maximal bpp explicitly and limits the resolutions in get_modes depending on its value. The default value is set to 24 so that the existing stuff keeps working. If you need a new 32bpp feature, specify cirrus.bpp=32 option explicitly. In virtio 1.0 mode, when mergeable buffers are enabled on a big-endian host, num_buffers wasn't byte-swapped correctly, so large incoming packets got corrupted. If the IPv6 fragment id has not been set and we perform fragmentation due to UFO, select a new fragment id. We now consider a fragment id of 0 as unset and if id selection process returns 0 (after all the pertrubations), we set it to 0x80000000, thus giving us ample space not to create collisions with the next packet we may have to fragment. When doing UFO integrity checking, we also select the fragment id if it has not be set yet. This is stored into the skb_shinfo() thus allowing UFO to function correclty. This patch also removes duplicate fragment id generation code and moves ipv6_select_ident() into the header as it may be used during GSO. 2015-02-03PCI: Handle read-only BARs on AMD CS553x devicesMyron Stowe1-3/+37
Some AMD CS553x devices have read-only BARs because of a firmware or hardware defect. There's a workaround in quirk_cs5536_vsa(), but it no longer works after 36e8164882ca ("PCI: Restore detection of read-only BARs"). Prior to 36e8164882ca, we filled in res->start; afterwards we leave it zeroed out. The quirk only updated the size, so the driver tried to use a region starting at zero, which didn't work. Expand quirk_cs5536_vsa() to read the base addresses from the BARs and hard-code the sizes. On Nix's system BAR 2's read-only value is 0x6200. Prior to 36e8164882ca, we interpret that as a 512-byte BAR based on the lowest-order bit set. Per datasheet sec 5.6.1, that BAR (MFGPT) requires only 64 bytes; use that to avoid clearing any address bits if a platform uses only 64-byte alignment. Revert commit 6c17ee44d524 (ACPI / LPSS: introduce a 'proxy' device to power on LPSS for DMA), as it introduced registration and probe ordering problems between devices on the LPSS that may lead to full hard system hang on boot in some cases.

Commit e1a5848e3398 ("ARM: 7924/1: mm: don't bother with reserved ttbr0 when running with LPAE") removed the use of the reserved TTBR0 value for LPAE systems, since the ASID is held in the TTBR and can be updated atomicly with the pgd of the next mm. Unfortunately, this patch forgot to update flush_context, which deliberately avoids marking the local active ASID as allocated, since we used to switch via ASID zero and didn't need to allocate the ASID of the previous mm. The side-effect of this is that we can allocate the same ASID to the next mm and, between flushing the local TLB and updating TTBR0, we can perform speculative TLB fills for userspace nG mappings using the page table of the previous mm. The consequence of this is that the next mm can erroneously hit some mappings of the previous mm. Note that this was made significantly harder to hit by a391263cd84e ("ARM: 8203/1: mm: try to re-use old ASID assignments following a rollover") but is still theoretically possible. This patch fixes the problem by removing the code from flush_context that forces the allocated ASID to zero for the local CPU. Many thanks to the Broadcom guys for tracking this one down. 2015-02-02xen-netback: stop the guest rx thread after a fatal errorDavid Vrabel2-2/+3
After commit e9d8b2c2968499c1f96563e6522c56958d5a1d0d (xen-netback: disable rogue vif in kthread context), a fatal (protocol) error would leave the guest Rx thread spinning, wasting CPU time. Commit ecf08d2dbb96d5a4b4bcc53a39e8d29cc8fef02e (xen-netback: reintroduce guest Rx stall detection) made this even worse by removing a cond_resched() from this path. Since a fatal error is non-recoverable, just allow the guest Rx thread to exit. This requires taking additional refs to the task so the thread exiting early is handled safely. Commit de966c592802 (net/mlx4_core: Support more than 64 VFs) was meant to allow up to 126 VFs. However, due to leaving MLX4_MFUNC_MAX too low, using more than 80 VFs resulted in memory corruptions (and Oopses) when more than 80 VFs were requested. In addition, the number of slaves was left too high. This commit fixes these issues. The bug here is that we use "Reject" as the index into the cau_t[] array in the else path. Since the cau_t[] has 9 elements if Reject == 9 then we are reading beyond the end of the array. My understanding of the code is that it's saying that if Reject is 1 or too high then that's invalid and we should hang up. Currently qlge_update_hw_vlan_features() will always first put the interface down, then update features and then bring it up again. But it is possible to hit this code while the adapter is down and this causes a non-paired call to napi_disable(), which will get stuck.
