2010-05-11netfilter: xtables: deconstify struct xt_action_param for matchesJan Engelhardt1-2/+1
In future, layer-3 matches will be an xt module of their own, and need to set the fragoff and thoff fields. Adding more pointers would needlessy increase memory requirements (esp. so for 64-bit, where pointers are wider). Signed-off-by: Jan Engelhardt <jengelh@medozas.de>

2008-10-08netfilter: xtables: move extension arguments into compound structure (1/6)Jan Engelhardt1-5/+2
The function signatures for Xtables extensions have grown over time. It involves a lot of typing/replication, and also a bit of stack space even if they are not used. Realize an NFWS2008 idea and pack them into structs. The skb remains outside of the struct so gcc can continue to apply its optimizations. This patch does this for match extensions' match functions. A few ambiguities have also been addressed. The "offset" parameter for example has been renamed to "fragoff" (there are so many different offsets already) and "protoff" to "thoff" (there is more than just one protocol here, so clarify). 2008-10-08netfilter: implement NFPROTO_UNSPEC as a wildcard for extensionsJan Engelhardt1-17/+9
When a match or target is looked up using xt_find_{match,target}, Xtables will also search the NFPROTO_UNSPEC module list. This allows for protocol-independent extensions (like xt_time) to be reused from other components (e.g. arptables, ebtables). Extensions that take different codepaths depending on match->family or target->family of course cannot use NFPROTO_UNSPEC within the registration structure (e.g. xt_pkttype). 2008-02-19[NETFILTER]: xt_u32: drop the actually unused variable from u32_match_itPavel Emelyanov1-6/+5
The int ret variable is used only to trigger the BUG_ON() after the skb_copy_bits() call, so check the call failure directly and drop the variable. Signed-off-by: Pavel Emelyanov <xemul@openvz.org> Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
