module_param(bool) used to counter-intuitively take an int. In fddd5201 (mid-2009) we allowed bool or int/unsigned int using a messy trick. It's time to remove the int/unsigned int option. The name argument of request_irq() appears in /proc/interrupts, and it's quite ugly when the name entry contains a space or special letters. The convention for pci_driver.name entry in kernel drivers seem to be the module name or equivalent ones. But, so far, almost all PCI sound drivers use more verbose name like "ABC Xyz (12)", and these are fairly confusing when appearing as a file name. This header file exists only for some hacks to adapt alsa-driver tree. It's useless for building in the kernel. Let's move a few lines in it to sound/core.h and remove it. With this patch, sound/driver.h isn't removed but has just a single compile warning to include it. This should be really killed in future. Fix IRQ flags for PCI devices. The shared IRQs for PCI devices shouldn't be allocated with IRQF_DISABLED. Also, when MSI is enabled, IRQF_SHARED shouldn't be used. 2005-07-27[PATCH] clean up inline static vs static inlineJesper Juhl1-2/+2
`gcc -W' likes to complain if the static keyword is not at the beginning of the declaration. This patch fixes all remaining occurrences of "inline static" up with "static inline" in the entire kernel tree (140 occurrences in 47 files). While making this change I came across a few lines with trailing whitespace that I also fixed up, I have also added or removed a blank line or two here and there, but there are no functional changes in the patch. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
