This is to make it possible to use different max window for VMA based readahead and original physical readahead. But Minchan Kim pointed out that this will cause a regression because setting page-cluster sysctl to zero cannot disable swap readahead with the change. To fix the regression, the page-cluster sysctl is used as the max window of both the VMA based swap readahead and original physical swap readahead. If more fine grained control is needed in the future, more knobs can be added as the subordinate knobs of the page-cluster sysctl. The vma_ra_max_order knob is deleted. Because the knob was introduced in v4.14-rc1, and this patch is targeting being merged before v4.14 releasing, there should be no existing users of this newly added ABI. Wysocki" Date: Tue, 24 Oct 2017 15:20:45 +0200 Subject: PM / QoS: Fix device resume latency PM QoS The special value of 0 for device resume latency PM QoS means "no restriction", but there are two problems with that. First, device resume latency PM QoS requests with 0 as the value are always put in front of requests with positive values in the priority lists used internally by the PM QoS framework, causing 0 to be chosen as an effective constraint value. However, that 0 is then interpreted as "no restriction" effectively overriding the other requests with specific restrictions which is incorrect. Second, the users of device resume latency PM QoS have no way to specify that *any* resume latency at all should be avoided, which is an artificial limitation in general. To address these issues, modify device resume latency PM QoS to use S32_MAX as the "no constraint" value and 0 as the "no latency at all" one and rework its users (the cpuidle menu governor, the genpd QoS governor and the runtime PM framework) to follow these changes. Also add a special "n/a" value to the corresponding user space I/F to allow user space to indicate that it cannot accept any resume latencies at all for the given device. This patch updates the addresses for those who: - Have 10 or more patches in mainline authored using an @imgtec.com email address, or any patches dated within the past year. - Are still with Imagination but leaving as part of the MIPS business unit, as determined from an internal email address list. - Haven't already updated their email address (ie. JamesH) or expressed a desire to be excluded (ie. Maciej). - Acked v2 or earlier of this patch, which leaves Deng-Cheng, Matt & myself. New addresses are of the form firstname.lastname@mips.com, and all verified against an internal email address list. An entry is added to .mailmap for each person such that get_maintainer.pl will report the new addresses rather than @imgtec.com addresses which will soon be dead. Instances of the affected addresses throughout the tree are then mechanically replaced with the new @mips.com address.
