Convert HAVE_KVM_IRQ_BYPASS into a tristate so that selecting
IRQ_BYPASS_MANAGER follows KVM={m,y}, i.e. doesn't force irqbypass.ko to
be built-in.
Note, PPC allows building KVM as a module, but selects HAVE_KVM_IRQ_BYPASS
from a boolean Kconfig, i.e. KVM PPC unnecessarily forces irqbpass.ko to
be built-in. But that flaw is a longstanding PPC specific issue.

Wrap the TDP MMU page counter in CONFIG_KVM_PROVE_MMU so that the sanity
check is omitted from production builds, and more importantly to remove
the atomic accesses to account pages. A one-off memory leak in production
is relatively uninteresting, and a WARN_ON won't help mitigate a systemic
issue; it's as much about helping triage memory leaks as it is about
detecting them in the first place, and doesn't magically stop the leaks.
I.e. production environments will be quite sad if a severe KVM bug escapes,
regardless of whether or not KVM WARNs.

Add a "-l <latency>" param to the rseq test so that the user can override
/dev/cpu_dma_latency, as described by the test's suggested workaround for
not being able to complete enough migrations.
cpu_dma_latency is not a normal file, even as far as procfs files go.
Writes to cpu_dma_latency only persist so long as the file is open, e.g.
so that the kernel automatically reverts back to a power-optimized state
once the sensitive workload completes. Provide the necessary functionality
instead of effectively forcing the user to write a non-obvious wrapper.

Acquire a lock on kvm->srcu when userspace is getting MP state to handle a
rather extreme edge case where "accepting" APIC events, i.e. processing
pending INIT or SIPI, can trigger accesses to guest memory. If the vCPU
is in L2 with INIT *and* a TRIPLE_FAULT request pending, then getting MP
state will trigger a nested VM-Exit by way of ->check_nested_events(), and
emuating the nested VM-Exit can access guest memory.
The splat was originally hit by syzkaller on a Google-internal kernel, and
reproduced on an upstream kernel by hacking the triple_fault_event_test
selftest to stuff a pending INIT, store an MSR on VM-Exit (to generate a
memory access on VMX), and do vcpu_mp_state_get() to trigger the scenario.

During a module removal, kvm_exit invokes arch specific disable
call which disables AIA. However, we invoke aia_exit before kvm_exit
resulting in the following warning. KVM kernel module can't be inserted
afterwards due to inconsistent state of IRQ.

Pause-Loop Exiting is not supported by LoongArch hardware, nor is pv
spinlock feature. So function kvm_vcpu_on_spin() is not used. Function
kvm_arch_vcpu_preempted_in_kernel() is defined as a stub function here
since it is only called by unused function kvm_vcpu_on_spin().

PGD table for primary mmu keeps unchanged once VM is created, it is not

(#include "..."). Also, TRACE_INCLUDE_PATH in arch/loongarch/kvm/trace.h
is relative to include/trace/.
Hence, the local header search path is unneeded.

If kvm_arch_vcpu_create() fails to share the vCPU page with the
hypervisor, we propagate the error back to the ioctl but leave the
vGIC vCPU data initialised. Note only does this leak the corresponding
memory when the vCPU is destroyed but it can also lead to use-after-free
if the redistributor device handling tries to walk into the vCPU.
Add the missing cleanup to kvm_arch_vcpu_create(), ensuring that the
vGIC vCPU structures are destroyed on error.

Commit d0c94c49792c ("KVM: arm64: Restore PMU configuration on first
run") added the code to reload the PMU configuration on first run.
It is also important to keep the correct state even if system registers
are modified after first run, specifically when debugging Windows on
QEMU with GDB; QEMU tries to write back all visible registers when
resuming the VM execution with GDB, corrupting the PMU state. Windows
always uses the PMU so this can cause adverse effects on that particular
OS.
The usual register writes and reset are already handled independently,
but register writes from userspace are not covered.
Trigger the code to reload the PMU configuration for them instead so
that PMU configuration changes made by users will be applied also after
the first run.

Reload the perf event when setting the vPMU counter (vPMC) registers
(PMCCNTR_EL0 and PMEVCNTR<n>_EL0). This is a change corresponding to
commit 9228b26194d1 ("KVM: arm64: PMU: Fix GET_ONE_REG
for vPMC regs to return the current value") but for SET_ONE_REG.
Values of vPMC registers are saved in sysreg files on certain occasions.
These saved values don't represent the current values of the vPMC
registers if the perf events for the vPMCs count events after the save.
The current values of those registers are the sum of the sysreg file
value and the current perf event counter value. But, when userspace
writes those registers (using KVM_SET_ONE_REG), KVM only updates the
sysreg file value and leaves the current perf event counter value as is.
It is also important to keep the correct state even if userspace writes
them after first run, specifically when debugging Windows on QEMU with
GDB; QEMU tries to write back all visible registers when resuming the VM
execution with GDB, corrupting the PMU state. Windows always uses the
PMU so this can cause adverse effects on that particular OS.
Fix this by releasing the current perf event and trigger recreating one
with KVM_REQ_RELOAD_PMU.

Many functions in pmu-emul.c checks kvm_vcpu_has_pmu(vcpu). A favorable
interpretation is defensive programming, but it also has downsides:
- It is confusing as it implies these functions are called without PMU
although most of them are called only when a PMU is present.
- It makes semantics of functions fuzzy. For example, calling
kvm_pmu_disable_counter_mask() without PMU may result in no-op as
there are no enabled counters, but it's unclear what
kvm_pmu_get_counter_value() returns when there is no PMU.
- It allows callers without checking kvm_vcpu_has_pmu(vcpu), but it is
often wrong to call these functions without PMU.
- It is error-prone to duplicate kvm_vcpu_has_pmu(vcpu) checks into
multiple functions. Many functions are called for system registers,
and the system register infrastructure already employs less
error-prone, comprehensive checks.
Check kvm_vcpu_has_pmu(vcpu) in callers of these functions instead,
and remove the obsolete checks from pmu-emul.c. The only exceptions are
the functions that implement ioctls as they have definitive semantics
even when the PMU is not present.

Commit a45f41d754e0 ("KVM: arm64: Add {get,set}_user for
PM{C,I}NTEN{SET,CLR}, PMOVS{SET,CLR}") changed KVM_SET_ONE_REG to update
the mentioned registers in a way matching with the behavior of guest
register writes. This is a breaking change of a UAPI though the new
semantics looks cleaner and VMMs are not prepared for this.
Firecracker, QEMU, and crosvm perform migration by listing registers
with KVM_GET_REG_LIST, getting their values with KVM_GET_ONE_REG and
setting them with KVM_SET_ONE_REG. This algorithm assumes
KVM_SET_ONE_REG restores the values retrieved with KVM_GET_ONE_REG
without any alteration. However, bit operations added by the earlier
commit do not preserve the values retried with KVM_GET_ONE_REG and
potentially break migration.
Remove the bit operations that alter the values retrieved with
KVM_GET_ONE_REG.

Instead of creating and initializing _all_ hyp vcpus in pKVM when
the first host vcpu runs for the first time, initialize _each_
hyp vcpu in conjunction with its corresponding host vcpu.
Some of the host vcpu state (e.g., system registers and traps
values) is not initialized until the first time the host vcpu is
run. Therefore, initializing a hyp vcpu before its corresponding
host vcpu has run for the first time might not view the complete
host state of these vcpus.
Additionally, this behavior is inline with non-protected modes.

Factor out the code for setting a vcpu's HCRX_EL2 traps in to a
separate inline function. This allows us to share the logic with
pKVM when setting the traps in protected mode.

KVM_CAP_SYNC_REGS does not make sense for VMs with protected guest state,
since the register values cannot actually be written. Return 0
when using the VM-level KVM_CHECK_EXTENSION ioctl, and accordingly
return -EINVAL from KVM_RUN if the valid/dirty fields are nonzero.
However, on exit from KVM_RUN userspace could have placed a nonzero
value into kvm_run->kvm_valid_regs, so check guest_state_protected
again and skip store_regs() in that case.

Add guest_tsc_protected member to struct kvm_arch_vcpu and prohibit
changing TSC offset/multiplier when guest_tsc_protected is true.
X86 confidential computing technology defines protected guest TSC so that
the VMM can't change the TSC offset/multiplier once vCPU is initialized.
SEV-SNP defines Secure TSC as optional, whereas TDX mandates it.
KVM has common logic on x86 that tries to guess or adjust TSC
offset/multiplier for better guest TSC and TSC interrupt latency
at KVM vCPU creation (kvm_arch_vcpu_postcreate()), vCPU migration
over pCPU (kvm_arch_vcpu_load()), vCPU TSC device attributes
(kvm_arch_tsc_set_attr()) and guest/host writing to TSC or TSC adjust MSR
(kvm_set_msr_common()).
The current x86 KVM implementation conflicts with protected TSC because the
VMM can't change the TSC offset/multiplier.
Because KVM emulates the TSC timer or the TSC deadline timer with the TSC
offset/multiplier, the TSC timer interrupts is injected to the guest at the
wrong time if the KVM TSC offset is different from what the TDX module
determined.
Originally this issue was found by cyclic test of rt-test [1] as the
latency in TDX case is worse than VMX value + TDX SEAMCALL overhead. It
turned out that the KVM TSC offset is different from what the TDX module
determines.
Disable or ignore the KVM logic to change/adjust the TSC offset/multiplier
somehow, thus keeping the KVM TSC offset/multiplier the same as the
value of the TDX module. Writes to MSR_IA32_TSC are also blocked as
they amount to a change in the TSC offset.

Push down setting vcpu.arch.user_set_tsc to true from kvm_synchronize_tsc()
to __kvm_synchronize_tsc() so that the two callers don't have to modify
user_set_tsc directly as preparation.
Later, prohibit changing TSC synchronization for TDX guests to modify
__kvm_synchornize_tsc() change. We don't want to touch caller sites not to
change user_set_tsc.

TDX needs to free the TDR control structures last, after all paging structures
have been torn down; move the vm_destroy callback at a suitable place.
The new place is also okay for AMD; the main difference is that the
MMU has been torn down and, if anything, that is better done before
the SNP ASID is released.

We just had a report of the assert for "btree in write buffer for
non-write buffer btree" popping during the 6.14 upgrade.
- 150TB filesystem, after a reboot the upgrade was able to continue from
where it left off, so no major damage.
But with 6.14 about to come out we want to get this tracked down asap,
and need more data if other users hit this.
Convert the BUG_ON() to an emergency read-only, and print out btree, the
key itself, and stack trace from the original write buffer update (which
did not have this check before).

Holding the pte lock for the page that is being converted to secure is
needed to avoid races. A previous commit removed the locking, which
caused issues. Fix by locking the pte again.

The function event_{hist,hist_debug}_open() maintains the refcount of
'file->tr' and 'file' through tracing_open_file_tr(). However, it does
not roll back these counts on subsequent failure paths, resulting in a
refcount leak.
A very obvious case is that if the hist/hist_debug file belongs to a
specific instance, the refcount leak will prevent the deletion of that
instance, as it relies on the condition 'tr->ref == 1' within
__remove_instance().
Fix this by calling tracing_release_file_tr() on all failure paths in
event_{hist,hist_debug}_open() to correct the refcount.

A subtle error got introduced while manually fixing merge conflict in
tcpm.c for commit 85c4efbe6088 ("Merge v6.12-rc6 into usb-next"). As a
result of this error, the next state is unconditionally set to
SNK_WAIT_CAPABILITIES_TIMEOUT while handling SNK_WAIT_CAPABILITIES state
in run_state_machine(...).
Fix this by setting new state of TCPM state machine to `upcoming_state`
(that is set to different values based on conditions).

In order to account for memory dedicated to the stage-2 page-tables, use
a separated memcache when tearing down the VM. Meanwhile rename
reclaim_guest_pages to reflect the fact it only reclaim page-table
pages.

Under VMware hypervisors, SEV-SNP enabled VMs are fundamentally able to boot
without UEFI, but this regressed a year ago due to:
0f4a1e80989a ("x86/sev: Skip ROM range scans and validation for SEV-SNP guests")
In this case, mpparse_find_mptable() has to be called to parse MP
tables which contains the necessary boot information.

In the use case of buffered write whose input buffer is mmapped file on a
filesystem with a pre-content mark, the prefaulting of the buffer can
happen under the filesystem freeze protection (obtained in vfs_write())
which breaks assumptions of pre-content hook and introduces potential
deadlock of HSM handler in userspace with filesystem freezing.
Now that we have pre-content hooks at file mmap() time, disable the
pre-content event hooks on page fault to avoid the potential deadlock.
