There are many platforms with exact same value for VM_DATA_DEFAULT_FLAGS
This creates a default value for VM_DATA_DEFAULT_FLAGS in line with the
existing VM_STACK_DEFAULT_FLAGS. While here, also define some more
macros with standard VMA access flag combinations that are used
frequently across many platforms. Apart from simplification, this
reduces code duplication as well.

<title>asm-generic: make more kernel-space headers mandatory</title>
<updated>2020-04-02T16:35:25Z</updated>
<author>
<name>Masahiro Yamada</name>
<email>masahiroy@kernel.org</email>

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='https://git.zx2c4.com/wireguard-linux/commit/?id=630f289b7114c0e68519cbd634e2b7ec804ca8c5'/>
<id>urn:sha1:630f289b7114c0e68519cbd634e2b7ec804ca8c5</id>
<content type='text'>
Change a header to mandatory-y if both of the following are met:

[1] At least one architecture (except um) specifies it as generic-y in
    arch/*/include/asm/Kbuild

[2] Every architecture (except um) either has its own implementation
    (arch/*/include/asm/*.h) or specifies it as generic-y in
    arch/*/include/asm/Kbuild

This commit was generated by the following shell script.

-----------------------------------&gt;8-----------------------------------

arches=$(cd arch; ls -1 | sed -e '/Kconfig/d' -e '/um/d')

tmpfile=$(mktemp)

grep "^mandatory-y +=" include/asm-generic/Kbuild &gt; $tmpfile

find arch -path 'arch/*/include/asm/Kbuild' |
	xargs sed -n 's/^generic-y += \(.*\)/\1/p' | sort -u |
while read header
do
	mandatory=yes

	for arch in $arches
	do
		if ! grep -q "generic-y += $header" arch/$arch/include/asm/Kbuild &amp;&amp;
			! [ -f arch/$arch/include/asm/$header ]; then
			mandatory=no
			break
		fi
	done

	if [ "$mandatory" = yes ]; then
		echo "mandatory-y += $header" &gt;&gt; $tmpfile

		for arch in $arches
		do
			sed -i "/generic-y += $header/d" arch/$arch/include/asm/Kbuild
		done
	fi

done

sed -i '/^mandatory-y +=/d' include/asm-generic/Kbuild

LANG=C sort $tmpfile &gt;&gt; include/asm-generic/Kbuild

-----------------------------------&gt;8-----------------------------------

One obvious benefit is the diff stat:

 25 files changed, 52 insertions(+), 557 deletions(-)

It is tedious to list generic-y for each arch that needs it.

So, mandatory-y works like a fallback default (by just wrapping
asm-generic one) when arch does not have a specific header
implementation.

See the following commits:

def3f7cefe4e81c296090e1722a76551142c227c
a1b39bae16a62ce4aae02d958224f19316d98b24

It is tedious to convert headers one by one, so I processed by a shell
script.

<title>c6x: Replace setup_irq() by request_irq()</title>

request_irq() is preferred over setup_irq(). Invocations of setup_irq()
occur after memory allocators are ready.

setup_irq() was required in older kernels as the memory allocator was not
available during early boot.

Hence replace setup_irq() by request_irq().

Use the generic __{get,put}_unaligned_[bl]e() definitions instead of
duplicating these. Since a later patch will add more definitions into
&lt;linux/unaligned/generic.h&gt;, this patch ensures that these definitions have
to be added only once. See also commit a7f626c1948a ("C6X: headers"). See
also commit 6510d41954dc ("kernel: Move arches to use common unaligned
access").

In the x86 MM code we'd like to untangle various types of historic
header dependency spaghetti, but for this we'd need to pass to
the generic vmalloc code various vmalloc related defines that
customarily come via the &lt;asm/page.h&gt; low level arch header.

CONFIG_PREEMPTION is selected by CONFIG_PREEMPT and by CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT.
Both PREEMPT and PREEMPT_RT require the same functionality which today
depends on CONFIG_PREEMPT.

Switch the entry code over to use CONFIG_PREEMPTION.

c6x is a nommu architecture and does not require fixup for upper layers
of the page tables because it is already handled by the generic nommu
implementation.

Replace usage of include/asm-generic/4level-fixup.h with
include/asm-generic/pgtable-nopud.h
