The GSP-RM display code in rm/r535/disp.c borrows a few
register-programming routines from engine/disp (the head-timing
interrupt handler, vblank enables, armed head state and scanout position
readback, the AVI/VSI infoframe writers and the GCP AVMute write) and so
far picked them by name, which means it has to know which chip it runs
on the moment a generation changes any of them.
Give nvkm_disp_func a .gsp table that each chip fills with exactly those
hooks, add tu102_gsp_disp (TU1xx) and ga102_gsp_disp (GA10x onwards)
carrying the current functions, hand them to r535_disp_new() instead of
the full hardware tables, and make rm/r535/disp.c call through the
hooks. The head hooks are a whole nvkm_head_func, so r535_head goes away
and the chip's own table is handed to nvkm_head_new_(). r535_sor_hdmi
gets infoframe forwarders, r535_sor_hdmi_audio() calls the GCP hook, and
the interrupt handler comes from the table. The tables are per chip even
though the two currently coincide, so a generation that changes a hook
only touches its own file.
rm/r535/disp.c no longer contains chip-specific register code, and a new
display generation only has to provide its own table. No functional
change.

r535_sor_hdmi_audio() pairs two RM controls (a SET_OD_PACKET carrying
the same General Control Packet, and the audio mute-stream toggle)
with a direct write of the GCP AVMute bit through the SF GCP unit.
The controls are RM and stay, but the direct write is register
programming and moves next to the other per-chip display code as
tu102_sor_hdmi_gcp(). No functional change.

The GSP-RM display code in rm/r535/disp.c owns a handful of direct MMIO
routines: the head-timing (vblank) interrupt handler and the per-head
vblank enable/disable. They program display registers, not RM, so they
belong with the rest of the per-chip register code in engine/disp/.
Move them to tu102.c (Turing is the first GSP-capable generation) as
tu102_disp_intr() and tu102_head_vblank_get()/put(), exported for
rm/r535/disp.c, which keeps calling them by name for now. No functional
change.

That's right! It looks like this never actually got finished, something
which I just noticed today when I saw this fun message spamming one of my
test machine's kernel logs when enabling display debug output for nouveau:
[drm:drm_crtc_vblank_helper_get_vblank_timestamp_internal] crtc 0 : scanoutpos query failed.
So it looks like we've been falling back to DRM's core fallback for a while
now, whoops.
So, while it seems that we do have the option of doing this through GSP -
that doesn't seem like a great idea. Mainly because reading this from GSP
would involve a lot more latency then we should have for vblank handling
due to the RPC communication. So instead of implementing that, just use
gv100_head_state and gv100_head_rgpos for implementing .state and .rgpos.
It seems to work perfectly fine!

Pull kvm updates from Paolo Bonzini:
"ARM64:
- Add support for 'slot' based PMU events, paired with new UAPI that
compels the user to select a specific PMU implementation
- Lazy save/restore of vCPU state for pKVM, along with various fixes
and cleanups to the management of vCPU state between the untrusted
host and pKVM hypervisor
- Disable traps of EL1 registers for nested hypervisors when
FEAT_NV2p1 is present, guaranteeing that EL2-specific register bits
are stateful in the EL1 counterpart
- Leverage FEAT_NV3 to avoid unnecessary ERET/TLBI traps when the
scope of those instructions remains 'in host' (i.e. L1
kernel/userspace)
- Pile of fixes for the management of the VNCR pseudo-TLB, such as
under-invalidations and races with concurrent TLBIs on other vCPUs
- Consolidate the non-protected and pKVM view of ICH_VTR_EL2 to a
runtime-patched constant, allowing the same data to be shared with
pKVM prior to dropping host privileges
- Considerable pile of LLM-assisted fixes around the shop but mostly
in the VGIC, our in-kernel generator of bugs (and sometimes
interrupts)
LoongArch:
- Advertise already-supported capabilities
- Some bug fixes about timer and MMIO
- Some hardening about interrupt injection
- Replace kvm_err() with kvm_pr_unimpl()
- Add FPU/LSX/LASX test cases for selftests
RISC-V:
- Svadu/Zicfiss/Zicfilp FWFT support for Guest
- Use try_cmpxchg for IMSIC MRIF RMW
- More arch-specific tracepoints in KVM RISC-V
- Eager page splitting when enabling dirty logging
- Optimize hfence request handling for SMP Guests
- Improve dirty log clearing by skipping zero bits in mask
- Guard HFENCE range loops against overflow
- CPU PM notifiers in KVM RISC-V for non-retentive idle states
- Fix kernel-mode vector context save/restore for Guest
s390:
- Fixes for vfio-ap
- Fixes for the gmap rework
- Fixes for vsie
- AI triggered fixes all over
- diag9c tracing
- code move preparation for the additional arm64 support
- enable CONTEXT_ANALYSIS
x86:
- Perform spring cleaning on x86.{c,h} and asm/kvm_host.h, by adding
regs.c (the kvm_cache_regs.h => regs.h is already applied) and
msrs.{c,h}, and moving relevant code out of x86.c
- Split kvm_mmu in three parts, respectively to describe the format
of page tables, walking the guest page tables and building the page
tables. Always use the same page table walker kvm->arch.gva_walk as
the entry point to convert a guest's virtual address, where the
previous code used two different kvm_mmu structs depending on
whether the walk included nested EPT/NPT or not. Make page fault
vmexits reuse the permission checking machinery that is used for
guest page faults. This is both a cleanup and a baby step towards
supporting XS/XU memory permissions
- Document some of the "fun" gotchas with the APIC base when creating
IRQCHIPs on x86
- Remove a defunct masterclock update from kvm_xen_shared_info_init().
It could result in incorrect kvmclock due to triggering an
unnecessary switch to/from masterclock mode
- Skip Xen runstate time updates if time has effectively gone
backwards, so that the guest doesn't report 100% steal time for
a very, very long time
- Drop KVM's runtime updates of the Xen PV timing CPUID leaf, as KVM
was updating the wrong sub-leaf, and upstream KVM will soon provide
all the information needed by userspace to populate the CPUID field
itself
- Fix a bug where KVM would walk a newly created rmap without holding
the rmap lock (or mmu_lock) during aging
- Fix a bug where aging TDP MMU SPTEs could clobber FROZEN SPTEs
- Fix a variety of #DB priority bugs
- Fix a class of races related to enabling Hyper-V emulation on a
vCPU after the vCPU is visible to the rest of KVM
- Use static calls for nested virtualization ops
- Move more KVM-internal code out of x86's kvm_host.h
- Enumerate support for a variety of Zhaoxin instructions that don't
require explicit virtualization
- Fix missing EFER validation bugs, including in the KVM_SET_SREGS*
path
- Harden kvm_vcpu_map() against double-mapping and thus leaking
references
- Misc fixes and cleanups, e.g. for largely benign syzkaller splats
x86 (Intel):
- Zero a vCPU's entry in VMX's Posted Interrupt Descriptor table used
for IPI virtualization when the vCPU is freed, to fix a
use-after-free where hardware will write to a freed vCPU's PID
- Service local TLB flushes on a failed nested VM-Enter to fix a bug
where KVM could miss a TLB on a future, successful VM-Enter with
the same L2 VPID
- Cap the maximum value shoved into the VMX Preemption Timer to
workaround an erratum that affects all existing Intel CPUs that
support CPUID 0x15
- Fix VPID virtualization bugs where KVM would fail to flush hardware
TLBs
- Harden the TDX "populate" ioctls against bad input, and to prepare
for supporting in-place private<=>shared conversion
x86 (AMD):
- Forcefully invalidate SNP VMSA pages if their backing guest_memfd
page is zapped/invalidated, e.g. due to a PUNCH_HOLE in response to
a Page-State Change request
- Remove a dying VM from the GA Log notifier list before the VM is
actually destroyed, to fix a potential use-after-free
- While FOLL_WRITE was needed in the past to trigger CoW unsharing,
nowadays FOLL_LONGTERM does that already even without FOLL_WRITE,
and in fact, get_user_pages() actually disallows FOLL_WRITE
together with FOLL_LONGTERM. So don't pass FOLL_WRITE when
registering encrypted memory regions, i.e. when pinning SEV/SEV-ES
guest memory, to fix a regression with file-backed memory
introduced by KVM's (correct) usage of long-term pins
(This was reviewed by mm maintainers; for more information, see
commit ee1a586dd1fa "KVM: SEV: Drop FOLL_WRITE for encrypted region
registration")
- Allocate full pages for SEV/SEV-ES {DE,EN}CRYPT ops on SNP-enabled
hosts to fix a data corruption issue due to the PSP driver
assigning to-be-written pages to firmware (as required by the SNP
specs)
- Unconditionally intercept ICBEP so that KVM generates the correct
guest RIP when handling an ICEBP-induced TASK_SWITCH #VMEXIT
- Harden the SNP "populate" ioctls against bad input, and to prepare
for supporting in-place private<=>shared conversion
Generic:
- Remove kvm_debugfs_dir if kvm_init() fails after creating KVM's
debugfs
- Add a per-VM bitmap to track which vCPU IDs have been "claimed" but
for which the vCPU isn't yet online, and use the bitmap to reject
duplicate IDs before calling into arch code. This allows arch code
to consume vcpu_id without having to worry about cross-vCPU
clobbering (at least s390 and x86 have had related bugs)
- Rework the so called "prepare" and "invalidate" guest_memfd hooks
to prepare for in-place private<=>shared conversion, and clean up a
few warts along the way
Selftests:
- Automatically allocate a full page for L2 guest stacks on x86
instead of requiring test-specific L1 guest code to carve out a
portion of the L1 stack for L2 usage, and to ensure the L2 stack
also adheres to the x86-64 calling convention ABI
- Add a selftest to verify {Guest,Host}-Only behavior in x86's
mediated PMU
- Clean up nested SVM's handling of GPRs on L2<=>L1 transitions,
reuse the functionality for nested VMX, and drop the ucall hack
that was fudging around the lack of GPR switching on nVMX
- Add a stress test to verify KVM doesn't clobber/drop #PF state,
e.g. CR2, across save/restore, including when L2 is active
- Add a test to verify KVM_CREATE_VM accepts exactly what is reported
by KVM_CAP_VM_TYPES
- Misc selftests fixes and cleanups
- Fix several issues with seeding the pRNG, and rework the pRNG APIs
to that the pRNG can be sanely used in host code, not just guest
code
- Add an IRQ test to validate virtual IRQ deliverty for IRQs wired up
via KVM_IRQFD + KVM_SET_GSI_ROUTING, with optional support for
triggering IRQs via writes to an assigned VFIO device
- Add syscall wrappers to assert success on a variety of pthreads and
CPU affinity APIs
- Set vCPU pthread affinity as early as possible to reduce contention
issues that were surfaced by PREEMPT_LAZY, which result in runtimes
of over a minute on large hosts, versus the expected ~5 seconds
- Rework the PMU counters test to run each testcase using a single VM
with many vCPUs for each sub-testcase, instead of using a unique VM
for each sub-testcase. This cuts the runtime by ~20x
Miscellaneous:

- Loads of IIO driver updates and additions
- binder driver updates (more on that below...)
- Removal of the SGI XP and GRU drivers as they are not used anymore

- Removal of the obsolete ibmasm driver as it's not being used

- Coresight driver updates and additions
- Mei driver udpates

Decouple kzalloc from buffer creation, so that a managed allocation can be
used:
struct tpm_buf *buf __free(kfree) buf = kzalloc(TPM_BUFSIZE,
GFP_KERNEL);
if (!buf)
return -ENOMEM;
tpm_buf_init(buf, TPM_BUFSIZE);
Alternatively, other allocations are also possible (static data, stack,
etc) for example:
u8 buf_data[512];
struct tpm_buf *buf = (struct tpm_buf *)buf_data;
tpm_buf_init(buf, sizeof(buf_data));
This is achieved by embedding buffer's header inside the allocated blob,
instead of having an outer wrapper.

These are definitions for TPM 2.0 interface and interactions with
the platform as defined in the TCG specification:
These definitions are located here in a separate file to avoid conflicts
with vendor specific TIS/FIFO definition (e.g. STMicroelectronics,
Infineon Technologies, etc). This allows the TCG defined TIS/FIFO
interface to be in a public header while the former chip specific
implementations contain their own definitions. TPM 1.x family chips
that adhere to the TCG specifications use the TIS/FIFO interface as
defined here.

check_locality() treats every nonzero transport return as success. SPI
errors remain negative, while the I2C path can convert a negative write
error through its byte-sized status variable. Either result is nonzero
even though the TPM_ACCESS byte can remain unwritten, so indeterminate
ACTIVE_LOCALITY and VALID bits can falsely report an active locality.
Require recv() to return exactly the requested byte before examining
TPM_ACCESS. Transport errors and short reads now report an inactive
locality, while successful reads retain the existing behavior.

st33zp24_status() ignores the result of the transport read and returns
data even when no byte was received. The I2C transport, for example,
skips i2c_master_recv() when the register-select write is short or fails,
leaving data uninitialized. The resulting stack value can be interpreted
as TPM_STS flags and let status checks complete spuriously.
The status callback cannot propagate a transport error. Return zero
unless recv() reports exactly one byte. With no status bits set, callers
retry or take their existing timeout or error path instead of acting on
an invalid status value.

wacom_intuos_pro2_bt_irq() receives the wire report length in `len`
but never consults it before parsing. After the report-id gate it
unconditionally calls wacom_intuos_pro2_bt_pen() and then, selected by
features.type, a fixed chain of sub-parsers, none of which receive
`len`:
wacom_intuos_pro2_bt_pen(wacom);
if (type == INTUOSP2_BT || type == INTUOSP2S_BT) {
wacom_intuos_pro2_bt_touch(wacom);
wacom_intuos_pro2_bt_pad(wacom);
wacom_intuos_pro2_bt_battery(wacom);
} else {
wacom_intuos_gen3_bt_pad(wacom);
wacom_intuos_gen3_bt_battery(wacom);
}
Each sub-parser dereferences wacom->data at fixed offsets. The furthest
byte touched on each branch is:
INTUOSP2_BT / INTUOSP2S_BT: wacom_intuos_pro2_bt_pad() reads data[285]
(the touchring byte), so the report must be at least 286 bytes;
INTUOSHT3_BT ("gen3"): wacom_intuos_gen3_bt_battery() reads data[45],
so the report must be at least 46 bytes.
features.type is selected from the VID/PID id_table entry and
wacom_setup_device_quirks() force-registers the pen/pad/touch inputs
for that type independent of the report descriptor, so a malicious or
malfunctioning paired/spoofed Bluetooth peripheral can advertise that
VID/PID and send an undersized report that still satisfies the
data[0] == 0x80/0x81 gate. The driver then reads past the received
report and forwards the bytes to userspace via evdev (MSC_SERIAL /
ABS_MISC / ABS_WHEEL on the pen and pad input nodes), an out-of-bounds
read with a concrete userspace read-back channel, and a true
out-of-bounds read on transports whose backing buffer is sized to the
(small) report descriptor rather than a fixed-size staging buffer.
This is the same class of bug commit 2f1763f62909 ("HID: wacom: fix
out-of-bounds read in wacom_intuos_bt_irq") already hardened in the
sibling wacom_intuos_bt_irq(), which guards each report id against its
minimum length before parsing.
Guard wacom_intuos_pro2_bt_irq() the same way: before parsing, reject
reports shorter than the furthest offset the selected branch actually
dereferences, warn, and bail out. Because the whole pen/touch/pad/
battery chain runs unconditionally per branch, a single up-front check
against the maximum offset (286 bytes for INTUOSP2_BT/INTUOSP2S_BT,
46 bytes for the gen3 branch) bounds every sub-parser. Returning 0 on
a short report also skips those calls for the same malformed report,
which is the safe, conservative behavior.

The INGENIC 17EF:6161 touchscreen (Lenovo Yoga Book 9 14IAH10) reports
HID_DG_CONTACTCOUNT=0 in the frame immediately following the last finger
lift rather than omitting the frame entirely. In mt_touch_report() the
existing code only updates num_expected when contact_count is non-zero,
so a zero contact count on the first packet of a new frame leaves
num_expected at its previous value (e.g. 2 for a two-finger gesture).
The sync check "num_received >= num_expected" then evaluates "0 >= 2"
and never fires, preventing INPUT_MT_DROP_UNUSED from releasing the
stale slots. Those slots remain active in the kernel MT layer until the
next touch, at which point they are released in a batch alongside the
new contact — causing the userspace event consumer to miss the
intervening finger-up sequence and corrupt its gesture session state.
Fix by resetting num_expected to 0 when contact_count is zero and
num_received is still 0 (i.e., this is the first and only packet of the
frame, not a continuation packet in a multi-packet sequence). With
num_expected=0 the sync check "0 >= 0" fires immediately, calling
input_mt_sync_frame() which drops the stale slots via
INPUT_MT_DROP_UNUSED.
The num_received==0 guard is critical: continuation packets in a
multi-packet frame arrive after at least one contact has already been
processed (num_received>0), so they are correctly excluded from this
path and the existing multi-packet logic is unaffected.

The slot lock is a bit operation on the whole __lock word, which flags and
ac_time alias as two u32s. On little-endian the lock bit lands in the
position ZRAM_ENTRY_LOCK reserves in flags, so the aliasing works out. On
64-bit big-endian it lands in ac_time instead: with
ZRAM_TRACK_ENTRY_ACTIME enabled, storing the access time from
mark_slot_accessed() or slot_free() wipes out the held lock bit, letting
another CPU take the same slot lock; an access time value with that bit
set makes the slot look locked forever.
Shift the lock bit into the flags half of the word on big-endian 64-bit.

This series makes use of the swap_iocb for block as well so that it
doesn't do inefficient single-bio I/O, and then rebases the swap_ops from

When running doing kernels builds, which is a workload that doesn't really

read_block_state() calculates nr_pages before taking dev_lock. If the
device is reset and reinitialized with a smaller disksize before lock
acquisition, nr_pages still describes the old table. The subsequent loop
can then call slot_lock() past the end of the newly allocated table.
Read disksize after acquiring dev_lock and checking that the device is
initialized. The read lock then keeps the table and its bound stable for
the duration of the scan.

Patch series "zram: fix stale scan bounds after reinitialization".
Both writeback_store() and read_block_state() derive their table scan
bounds from zram->disksize before acquiring dev_lock. If the device is
reset and reinitialized with a smaller disksize between that read and lock
acquisition, the bound can describe the old table while the scan operates
on the new one. This can lead to out-of-bounds slot accesses.
Move both bound calculations under dev_lock so each bound remains
consistent with the table throughout its scan. Keep the fixes separate
because the affected interfaces originate from different commits and can
be backported independently.
This patch (of 2):
writeback_store() calculates the table scan bounds before taking dev_lock.
A reset followed by reconfiguration with a smaller disksize can therefore
replace zram->table while writeback_store() is waiting for the lock. Once
it acquires the lock, it sees an initialized device but scans the new
table using the old upper bound, resulting in an out-of-bounds access.
Calculate the number of pages while holding dev_lock so the scan bound
matches the table protected by the lock.

Parameters validated against one algorithm may be invalid for another
(e.g. lz4 accepts level=65535 but zstd does not). Although algorithm
changes are blocked after disksize is set, they are allowed before device
initialization. Reset per-priority params on algorithm change so that
stale parameters do not silently carry over.

Patch series "zram: fix zstd error paths and add parameter validation", v6,
Patch 1 removes zstd_release_params() from both zstd_create() and
zstd_setup_params() error paths -- the former is a layering violation
in a per-CPU callback, the latter is redundant as zcomp_init() already
calls release_params() on setup failure.
Patch 2 rejects zero-size dictionaries and prints distinct error
messages for sz < 0 (returns the original error code) and sz == 0
("empty file"). Currently errors are silently swallowed.
Patch 3 adds pr_fmt to each backend file so that pr_err() messages
are auto-prefixed with the algorithm name.
Patch 4 validates dict and level parameters in each backend's
.setup_params(), rejecting unsupported combinations and out-of-range
levels.
Patch 5 resets per-priority params on algorithm change before init.
This patch (of 5):
zstd_setup_params() creates global cdict and ddict stored in
params->drv_data, shared across all per-CPU contexts. The per-CPU
zstd_create() error path called zstd_release_params(), which freed those
globally-shared objects. This is a layering violation: a per-CPU callback
should only clean up its own context, not release resources owned by the
compression lifecycle.
zstd_setup_params() called zstd_release_params() on its own error path as
well, but zcomp_init() already calls release_params() when setup fails, so
this is redundant.
Remove zstd_release_params() from both error paths.

Patch series "zram: fix zram issues reported by sashiko".
Sashiko drove by and reported [1] a couple of zram issues:
a possible BUG_ON() in zlib code due to missing winbits range
validation and one possible NULL-ptr dereference in zcomp.
Both are low risk yet still worth fixing.
This patch (of 2):
zram_destroy_comps() resets all compressors and leaves them set to NULL,
including the primary one, which is invalid device state, as now
comp_algorithm_show()->strcmp() can be called on a NULL compressor. Set
default primary compressor in zram_destroy_comps().

All remaining callers of is_cow_mapping() are invoking it in the form of
is_cow_mapping(vma->vm_flags) or an indirected version of this.
Therefore, provide a helper - vma_is_cow_mapping() to directly test the
VMA.
Additionally provide a new helper vma_flags_is_cow_mapping() which
performs the check using the new vma_flags_t type, and share this logic
between vma_is_cow_mapping() and vma_desc_is_cow_mapping().
With these changes, no callers of is_cow_mapping() remain, so remove it.
Also update the userland VMA tests to reflect the change.
No functional change intended.

Bits 15:14 of NPU_SET_{IFM,OFM}_PRECISION select the activation storage
mode on U85 only. On U65 the same field holds the rounding mode, and the
command stream parser has read it as a storage mode since the driver was
added.
That went unnoticed while unknown values fell through the switch, but
now that they are rejected, every U65 command stream that asks for
natural rounding (2) fails CMDSTREAM_BO_CREATE with -EINVAL. Mesa emits
it for average pooling, concatenation, split, unpack, strided slice, LUT
and argmax, which is 72 failures of the Teflon test suite on an i.MX93.
Truncating rounding (1) is misread as well: it picks the two-tile
address path and computes a bogus feature map size from tile bases the
command stream never set.
Read the field as a storage mode only on the hardware where it is one.
