nfp_net_fs_add() replaces an existing rule by deleting it from the
hardware, decrementing nn->fs.count and programming the new one. If
nfp_net_fs_add_hw() fails the old entry stays on nn->fs.list - only the
success path reaches list_replace() - so the list is one longer than
nn->fs.count, and it advertises a rule whose hardware entry has already
been torn down.
nn->fs.count is what ETHTOOL_GRXCLSRLCNT reports, so userspace then sizes
its buffer one entry short of what the GRXCLSRLALL walk wants to write.
That used to overwrite one u32 past the allocation; since the walk is
bounded it is a permanent -EMSGSIZE instead, as nothing ever resyncs the
counter.

nfp_net_get_fs_loc() dumps every entry of nn->fs.list into rule_locs[]
without consulting cmd->rule_cnt, which is how many entries the caller
had room for. ETHTOOL_GRXCLSRLALL requires no CAP_NET_ADMIN and the
ioctl sizes the buffer from the rule_cnt userspace passes in, so once an
admin has installed flow steering rules any user can ask for fewer slots
than there are rules and run off the end of the allocation. A rule_cnt
of 0 leaves the buffer pointer NULL and the walk dereferences it.
Bail out with -EMSGSIZE when the buffer fills up, the way the other
ntuple capable drivers do, and report how many locations were filled so
a shrinking rule list does not leave the caller reading stale slots.

In bond_do_alb_xmit() and rlb_arp_xmit(), make sure to unclone
skb head via skb_cow_head() before modifying the source MAC address
(Ethernet header and ARP payload) to avoid silent corruption if
the skb is shared or cloned. Avoid caching the header pointers
across skb_cow_head().
In rlb_arp_xmit(), only modify arp->mac_src if it differs from
tx_slave->dev->dev_addr to avoid an unnecessary copy and head
reallocation.
Also, we should not assume mac header is set in output path.
Use skb_eth_hdr() instead of eth_hdr() to fix the issue,
and remove now redundant skb_reset_mac_header() calls.

When the ECC engine fails to decode a page, the driver re-reads the OOB
area with the engine bypassed, but runs the erased-page check for the
data area on the buffer left in the controller SRAM by the failed
transfer.
That buffer does not hold what is on the flash: the failing engine
writes a bogus single-bit "correction" into it. In the 60-byte ECC mode
the all-0xff content of an erased page always decodes to the same error
location, so every erased page shows one stale zero bit at data offset
0x5FD, which the erased-page check then reports as a corrected bitflip.
Edward Karpicz discovered this behaviour and identified the offset on a
Colibri VF61; the analysis and the fix build on his finding. Measured
with an instrumented driver on a Colibri VF50 (MX30LF1G18AC, 32-bit
ECC): reading a 126 MiB partition with nanddump increased the corrected
counter by 18035, exactly one per erased page, while raw reads of the
same pages return clean 0xff. A v4.4 kernel on the VF61 (MX30LF4G28AC)
accumulates the same false counts, so the behaviour follows the
controller rather than the chip or the driver generation. Neither the
Vybrid reference manual nor the published mask set errata (VFXXX_2N02G)
document it. The 45-byte ECC mode is not affected.
Restoring the known byte is not enough: on pages that fail to decode
with content other than all-0xff the engine writes its correction
wherever the syndrome points (measured at a different offset on such a
page), so the check has to run on what the flash holds. Re-read the data
area with the ECC engine bypassed, exactly as already done for the OOB
area. The corrected counter then stays at zero on both boards.

The controller transfers 64 spare bytes per page and the driver only
implements the matching 64-byte ECC layout, so attach_chip() shrinks
mtd->oobsize when the chip provides more. That clamp does not survive:
nand_scan_tail() runs nanddev_init() after ->attach_chip(), and it
restores mtd->oobsize from the memory organization, which still holds
the value detected from the chip. The driver then transfers writesize
plus the chip's full OOB size, the hardware ECC parity ends up at a
different offset than the layout the controller was set up for, and
every ECC-protected read fails with -EBADMSG.
Measured on a Colibri VF61 (MX30LF4G28AC, 2048-byte pages, 112 bytes of
OOB): with the clamp lost, UBI cannot read the erase counter headers of
the pages U-Boot has just written, and the on-flash bad block table
written by an older kernel reads back with ECC errors, so the board
does not boot. Kernels before commit a7ab085d7c16 ("mtd: rawnand:
Initialize the nand_device object") are not affected because nothing
overwrote the clamp there, which is why the same chip works with a v4.4
kernel and with U-Boot, whose copy of this driver has no memory
organization to restore the value from. Edward Karpicz reported that
the clamp no longer takes effect on this chip; see the link below.
Instead of modifying the memory organization, keep the detected OOB
size and give the driver its own mtd_ooblayout_ops: the same layout the
NAND core uses for large pages, but computed on the first 64 OOB bytes
instead of the whole OOB, so the ECC bytes stay where U-Boot and the
old kernels put them. The data paths transfer writesize plus those 64
bytes, as the controller always has.
Since mtd->oobsize now reports the chip's real spare size, fill the
tail of oob_poi with 0xff after the 64 transferred bytes on ECC page
reads: the core may copy the full mtd->oobsize from it, which would
otherwise expose whatever the buffer held before. 0xff also matches
what a raw read returns from flash, since the write path only ever
programs the first 64 spare bytes.

Commit 00c15b78b4b4 ("mtd: spinand: Allow the case where there is no
ECC engine") made the OOB free bytes count conditional on having an
ECC engine so that probing would not fail when none is requested.
However mtd->oobavail is still assigned from ret just after that
block, and ret is 0 there, so the device ends up advertising no
available OOB bytes at all.
mtd_oobavail() returns mtd->oobavail for MTD_OPS_AUTO_OOB, so a zero
value makes every automatic OOB access fail with -EINVAL. JFFS2 fares
worse: it keeps its cleanmarker in the OOB area on NAND and refuses to
mount outright, reporting "inconsistent device description".
No ECC engine also means no ooblayout was ever installed, which would
make the count return -ENOTSUPP, so install the same fallback layout
the on-die path already uses before counting unconditionally.

When "nand-no-ecc-engine" is set in DT, nanddev_get_ecc_engine() takes
the NAND_ECC_ENGINE_TYPE_NONE path and returns success while leaving
nand->ecc.engine NULL. The SPI-NAND code nevertheless dereferences it
unconditionally to test for a pipelined engine, so probing such a
device oopses immediately.
Rather than open-coding the test three times, add a
nand_ecc_is_pipelined() helper to the NAND core that folds the NULL
check into the integration comparison, and use it everywhere. Future
callers then cannot reintroduce the problem.

arm32 allmodconfig fails to build with gcc:
drivers/mtd/chips/cfi_cmdset_0001.c:1883:1: error: the frame size of 1296
bytes is larger than 1280 bytes [-Werror=frame-larger-than=]
With MTD_MAP_BANK_WIDTH_32 a map_word is 32 bytes, and with KASAN_STACK
every temporary gets its own redzoned slot. do_write_buffer() builds a
map_word for each of the twelve commands it issues, and those temporaries
dominate its frame.
Issue the commands through a small noinline helper that takes the
command as a plain value and builds the map_word in its own frame. The
sequence of reads and writes to the chip is unchanged.
The helper must not be inlined, and reusing one map_word local is not
enough: clang cannot assume the callee does not observe the local, so it
still returns each CMD() into a per-call-site temporary, and the frame
grows (1760 -> 1824 bytes in cfi_intelext_writev(), into which clang
inlines do_write_buffer()).
Frame sizes with MTD_MAP_BANK_WIDTH_32 and KASAN_STACK:
gcc 15.2 do_write_buffer() 1296 -> 520
clang 21 cfi_intelext_writev() 1760 -> 896

The Marvell AHCI controller requires you to clear interrupts in the
opposite order from what is specified in the AHCI specification in
order to not lose interrupts (Hajo)
- Do not raise UNIT ATTENTION for depopulation commands
The libata completion function unconditionally sets sense data with
sense key UNIT ATTENTION (UA) for depopulation commands. The SCSI
layer will fail a command when seeing this sense data. UA is only
supposed to be raised if the capacity actually changed.
Since these commands are currently only supported as passthrough
commands, the user is expected to revalidate the device, which will
detect a capacity change anyway. Thus drop the unconditional UA until

cpufreq_policy_alloc() allocates policy->cpus with alloc_cpumask_var(),
i.e. without __GFP_ZERO, unlike the sibling related_cpus and real_cpus
masks. With CONFIG_CPUMASK_OFFSTACK=y the mask is a separate
kmalloc_node() allocation, so its bitmap holds whatever the slab allocator
left behind:
cpufreq_online()
cpufreq_policy_alloc()
alloc_cpumask_var(&policy->cpus) /* bitmap is uninitialized */
kobject_init_and_add() /* policy%u/ appears in sysfs */
cpufreq_policy_online()
cpumask_copy(policy->cpus, cpumask_of(cpu)) /* first valid value */
This leaves a window in which the sysfs attributes are already reachable
while policy->cpus is still garbage. show()/store() gate on
policy_is_inactive(), i.e. cpumask_empty(policy->cpus), so a non-zero
bitmap makes them run the attribute callbacks on a policy that is not
initialized yet.
Fix this by using zalloc_cpumask_var() for policy->cpus.

cpufreq_policy_alloc() initializes policy->rwsem after
kobject_init_and_add() has created the policy sysfs directory and its
default attributes. A sysfs access can therefore reach a policy callback
before the semaphore has been initialized.
Initialize policy->rwsem before publishing the policy kobject so sysfs
callbacks always see an initialized semaphore.

HWSPNLCK_TIMEOUT is passed to hwspin_lock_timeout_in_atomic(), whose
timeout argument is in milliseconds, not microseconds:
atomic_delay += HWSPINLOCK_RETRY_DELAY_US;
if (atomic_delay > to * 1000)
return -ETIMEDOUT;
So stm32mp_exti_set_type() asks for a 1 second timeout where the comment
next to the macro says it wants 1 millisecond. The semaphore is polled
with udelay() from a section that holds chip_data->rlock, a
raw_spinlock_t, so preemption stays disabled for the whole wait on every
configuration, PREEMPT_RT included.
The hwspinlock core documents this explicitly:
If the mode is HWLOCK_IN_ATOMIC (called from an atomic context) the
timeout is handled with busy-waiting delays, hence shall not exceed
few msecs.

This reverts commit 6be6cba9c4371d27f78d900ccfe34bb880d9ee20.
Commit 6be6cba9c437 ("irqchip/mbigen: Fix mbigen node address layout")
appears to cause a regression on Hi1616.
On-board hns NIC has two ports, enahisic2i0 and enahisic2i1, both
behind mbigen-v2. Port 0 works; port 1 cannot pass any traffic.
Their interrupt pins fall on different mbigen nodes:
enahisic2i0: pins 1152-1198 -> all in node 9
enahisic2i1: pins 1200-1246 -> node 9 (1200-1215) + node 10 (1216-1246)
(nid = (hwirq - 64) / 128 + 1; pin 1215 = node 9, pin 1216 = node 10)
/proc/interrupts shows the break happens exactly at the node boundary:
enahisic2i1-rx0 pin 1200 count 102 <- node 9
enahisic2i1-rx5 pin 1215 count 1 <- node 9, last pin
enahisic2i1-tx5 pin 1216 count 0 <- node 10, first pin
enahisic2i1-rx6 pin 1218 count 0 <- node 10
...all node 10 pins stay at zero.
Port 0 (entirely node 9) is unaffected. Reverting the commit restores
normal operation.
The commit assumes CLEAR occupies a full 4 KB page at [0xa000, 0xb000)
and collides with node 10, so node 10+ gets shifted by 0x1000.
But get_mbigen_clear_reg() uses flat, chip-wide addressing -- it never
multiplies by the node ID:
*addr = (hwirq / 32) * 4 + REG_MBIGEN_CLEAR_OFFSET; /* 0xa000 */
Over the valid hwirq range [64, 1407], CLEAR only spans 0xa008-0xa0af
(168 bytes). Node 10's registers are:
TYPE: 0xa000-0xa00f (16 B) overlaps CLEAR by 8 B (0xa008-0xa00f)
VEC: 0xa200-0xa3ff (512 B) no overlap with CLEAR
Shifting the whole page moves VEC from 0xa200 to 0xb200. The hardware
reads the event ID from the fixed silicon address 0xa200 on interrupt
firing, but software wrote it to 0xb200 -- so the hardware gets an
uninitialised value and the interrupt is lost.
The only real overlap is 8 bytes of TYPE. It can only trigger when a
single mbigen instance has devices on both node 1 (CLEAR 0xa008) and
node 10 (TYPE 0xa008). On Hi1616 those nodes are on separate mbigen
instances, so it never triggers.

Switch the sysfs code to use scnprintf() to avoid warnings about potential
truncation of the names of the sysfs attributes. We can't increase the buffer
size because the size is the part of an ABI for some reason. Note, with
the current size of buffer the affected attributes have a room for up to
1000 names, which ought to be enough for all cases. There is no functional

DDR50 mode is not required to support the tuning command CMD19, meaning
that calibration may fail on cards that do not implement it, in which
case a known-good itap delay value should be programmed into the host
controller.
Do this by reading the (already defined) itap delay DT property for DDR50
and, if tuning fails for this mode, fall back to the DT-provided itap delay
value. If the DT does not provide a value for DDR50 fallback then this
simply disables using itapdly.

mmc_hsq_pump_requests() queues retry_work when request_atomic() returns
-EBUSY; today sdhci-sprd is the only consumer that implements
request_atomic(). The work is embedded in a devm-allocated mmc_hsq, but
is never cancelled during driver removal. Work still pending at unbind
can therefore run after the devm allocation has been released and
dereference hsq->mmc and hsq->mrq.
Use devm_work_autocancel() to cancel and drain retry_work before the devm
allocation is released. By the time devres cleanup begins,
mmc_remove_host() has already stopped the host, so no new requests can
arm the work.

mxcmci_remove() frees the host through the devm tail, but neither it nor
mmc_remove_host() drains the driver's own asynchronous state.
host->watchdog, a 10 s timer armed on the DMA path in mxcmci_setup_data(),
is deleted only by the DMA- and IRQ-complete paths, which the remove path
does not explicitly drain; it can therefore fire after the host is freed
and dereference it in mxcmci_watchdog(). host->datawork, armed from the
IRQ handler on the PIO path, is not cancelled by the remove path either.
Free the devm-registered IRQ, then cancel datawork and delete the watchdog
in mxcmci_remove(), before dma_release_channel(). Freeing the IRQ first
keeps a trailing handler from re-arming datawork between the cancel and
the host free. Both callbacks are non-self-rearming.

Both management receive paths establish a lower bound on the frame
length and no upper bound, even though the length originates from the
device.
ipw2100_corruption_check() returns 0 without inspecting frame_size for
management frames, and __ipw2100_rx_process() only rejects a frame
smaller than the three-address header, so any reported size up to the
u32 limit reaches libipw_rx_mgt() against a receive allocation of
IPW_RX_NIC_BUFFER_LENGTH bytes. Check frame_size itself rather than
stats.len, which is a u16: a size of 65566 truncates to 30 on
assignment and would pass a check made afterwards.
ipw_rx() likewise only rejects a frame shorter than the header length.
Bound it against the DMA mapped receive buffer. The size passed to
alloc_skb() is rounded up by the allocator, so skb_tailroom() can
exceed IPW_RX_BUF_SIZE and is not a usable bound here; the existing
uses of that idiom in the data paths are too permissive for the same
reason.
libipw then hands the remainder to libipw_parse_info_param(), which
walks information elements for as long as the length allows, so an
over-long reported length reads past the receive buffer without any
wraparound being involved.
The length is device-reported, so per
Documentation/process/threat-model.rst this is a robustness fix rather
than a vulnerability.

libipw_handle_assoc_resp() reads the capability, status and aid fields
of the 30-byte association response prefix and then computes the
information element length as
stats->len - sizeof(*frame)
stats->len is a u16 and sizeof() has type size_t, so the subtraction is
evaluated as size_t and wraps instead of going negative. Truncating
that to the u16 length parameter of libipw_parse_info_param() turns a
frame shorter than the fixed fields into a length near 64 KiB, and the
parser then reads past the receive buffer.
Both the ipw2100 and ipw2200 management receive paths reach this
function having established only that the frame carries the generic
24-byte three-address header.

libipw_process_probe_response() and the libipw_network_init() call it
makes assume the frame contains the full 36-byte beacon and probe

establish that a management frame carries the generic 24-byte

mwifiex_process_mgmt_packet() accepts an rx_pkt_length as small as a
four-address struct ieee80211_hdr plus the two-byte firmware length prefix.
After stripping the prefix, mwifiex_parse_mgmt_packet() can receive a
frame equal to sizeof(struct ieee80211_hdr).
For action frames, the parser reads the category byte immediately after
that header and, for a public action frame, reads the following action
code byte without verifying that either field is present. A truncated frame
can therefore make the parser consume up to two bytes past the
firmware-declared frame length. If those bytes look like a TDLS discovery
response, the malformed frame can spuriously update peer signal state.
Require the category and public action-code fields before reading them.
Use sizeof(*ieee_hdr) so the checks and field accesses directly match the
firmware four-address layout being parsed before address4 is removed.

mwifiex_search_oui_in_ie() reads a pairwise-cipher (PTK) count from a
beacon/probe-response RSN or WPA information element and then walks that
many 4-byte OUIs, comparing each with memcmp(). The count comes straight
from the (attacker-supplied) IE and is never checked against the
element's own length, and the callers admit the element on element_id
alone (has_ieee_hdr() / has_vendor_hdr(), no length check). A crafted
RSN/WPA IE with a large pairwise count therefore makes the walk read up
to 255 * 4 bytes past the element -- an out-of-bounds read of the
kmemdup()'d beacon buffer, reachable from any AP whose beacon/probe
response is processed during scan-result parsing.
Pass the number of IE bytes available at the OUI list and bound the walk
to the element. Keep the length signed and reject a negative value
before any unsigned arithmetic, so a small or zero IE length cannot
underflow to a large size_t and defeat the bound.

leak from the stack to the firmware (when ssid is less than 32 bytes
and/or when params->pmkid is set). Then, pass the params->pmkid to the
firmware (without it, the firmware caches a garbage PMKID on successful
authentication and denies a subsequent association request that includes
the PMKID).

mwifiex_cfg80211_authenticate() derives the authentication frame length
from req->ie_len and req->auth_data_len, both of type size_t, but stores
it in a u16.
NL80211_ATTR_AUTH_DATA only has a minimum length policy. Since nla_len is
a u16, a single attribute can carry up to 65531 bytes of payload, so the
sum can exceed U16_MAX before it is assigned to pkt_len. The truncated
pkt_len determines the skb frame area, while the copy length remains
req->auth_data_len - 4, resulting in a heap buffer overflow.
For example, with auth_data_len equal to 65510 and no IEs, the sum is
65546. It is truncated to 10 and then reduced by four to 6. The driver
appends only six bytes to the skb with skb_put(), but then copies 65506
user-provided bytes into the authentication body.
Reaching this path requires CAP_NET_ADMIN in the user namespace owning
the network namespace, an up station netdev, and a suitable BSS/SAE
authentication request.
Compute the length in size_t, reject values that cannot be represented by
the firmware's u16 frame length field, and only then assign it to pkt_len.

mwifiex_pcie_request_irq() registers each MSI-X vector with a per-index
dev_id (&card->msix_ctx[i]). On a request_irq() failure the cleanup loop
"for (j = 0; j < i; j++)" frees msix_entries[j].vector but passes the
failed index's &card->msix_ctx[i] as the dev_id. free_irq() matches on
(irq, dev_id), so it fails to find the action registered with
&card->msix_ctx[j]: the already-requested IRQ j is not freed (leaked) and
free_irq() warns about freeing a non-existent IRQ. Use &card->msix_ctx[j].

lbtf_free_adapter() calls lbtf_free_cmd_buffer() to free the command
buffers before calling timer_delete_sync() to wait for the command
timer callback. If the timer callback (command_timer_fn) is already
running when lbtf_free_cmd_buffer() frees the command array, the
callback dereferences priv->cur_cmd->cmdbuf which points to freed
memory.
Swap the order so that timer_delete_sync() runs first, ensuring any
in-flight callback has completed before the command buffers are freed.

When the simulated link is disconnected, virt_wifi_start_xmit() returns
NET_XMIT_DROP without freeing the skb. dev_hard_start_xmit() treats this
return value as consumed, so every packet sent while disconnected leaks its
skb.
Free the skb before returning the drop status.
