When CPUID[6].EAX[15] is set to 1, this CPU supports notification for
HWP (Hardware P-states) highest performance change.
Add a feature flag to check if the CPU supports HWP highest performance
change.

Updates the documentation in `amd-pstate.rst` to include information about
the per CPU boost control feature. Users can now enable or disable the
Core Performance Boost (CPB) feature on individual CPUs using the `boost`
sysfs attribute.

When Core Performance Boost is disabled by the user, the
CPPC_REQ.max_perf should not exceed the nominal_perf since by definition
the frequencies between nominal_perf and the highest_perf are in the
boost range. Fix this in amd_pstate_update()

The "Core Performance Boost (CPB) feature, when enabled in the BIOS,
allows the OS to control the highest performance for each individual
core. The active, passive and the guided modes of the amd-pstate driver
do support controlling the core frequency boost when this BIOS feature
is enabled. Additionally, the amd-pstate driver provides a sysfs
interface allowing the user to activate/deactivate this core performance
boost feature at runtime.
Add support for the set_boost callback in the active mode driver to
enable boost control via the cpufreq core. This ensures a consistent
boost control interface across all pstate modes, including passive
mode, guided mode, and active mode.
With this addition, all three pstate modes can support the same boost
control interface with unique interface and global CPB control. Each
CPU also supports individual boost control, allowing global CPB to
change all cores' boost states simultaneously. Specific CPUs can
update their boost states separately, ensuring all cores' boost
states are synchronized.

There are some other drivers also need to use the
MSR_K7_HWCR_CPB_DIS_BIT for CPB control bit, so it makes sense to move
the definition to a common header file to allow other driver to use it.
No intentional functional impact.

It is reported that single-thread performance on some hybrid systems
dropped significantly after commit 7feec7430edd ("ACPI: CPPC: Only probe
for _CPC if CPPC v2 is acked") which prevented _CPC from being used if
the support for it had not been confirmed by the platform firmware.
The problem is that if the platform firmware does not confirm CPPC v2
support, cppc_get_perf_caps() returns an error which prevents the
intel_pstate driver from enabling ITMT. Consequently, the scheduler
does not get any hints on CPU performance differences, so in a hybrid
system some tasks may run on CPUs with lower capacity even though they
should be running on high-capacity CPUs.
To address this, modify intel_pstate to use the information from
MSR_HWP_CAPABILITIES to enable ITMT if CPPC is not available (which is
done already if the highest performance number coming from CPPC is not
realistic).

If driver registration fails then immediately return the failure
instead of continuing to register attributes.
This fixes issues of falling back from amd-pstate to other drivers
when cpufreq init has failed for any reason.

A small prescaler is beneficial, as this improves the resolution of the
duty_cycle configuration. However if the prescaler is too small, the
maximal possible period becomes considerably smaller than the requested
value.
One situation where this goes wrong is the following: With a parent
clock rate of 208877930 Hz and max_arr = 0xffff = 65535, a request for
period = 941243 ns currently results in PSC = 1. The value for ARR is
then calculated to
ARR = 941243 * 208877930 / (1000000000 * 2) - 1 = 98301
This value is bigger than 65535 however and so doesn't fit into the
respective register field. In this particular case the PWM was
configured for a period of 313733.4806027616 ns (with ARR = 98301 &
0xffff). Even if ARR was configured to its maximal value, only period =
627495.6861167669 ns would be achievable.
Fix the calculation accordingly and adapt the comment to match the new
algorithm.
With the calculation fixed the above case results in PSC = 2 and so an
actual period of 941229.1667195285 ns.

If period_ns is small, prd might well become 0. Catch that case because
otherwise with
regmap_write(priv->regmap, TIM_ARR, prd - 1);
a few lines down quite a big period is configured.

discard_new_inode() is the correct interface for tearing down an indoe
that was fully created but not made visible to other threads, but it
expects I_NEW to be set, which we don't use.

Incorrect bucket state transition in the discard path; when incrementing
a bucket's generation number that had already been discarded, we were
forgetting to check if it should be need_gc_gens, not free.
This was caught by the .invalid checks in the transaction commit path,
causing us to go emergency read only.

cachable and mmkey.rb_key together are used by mlx5_revoke_mr() to put the
MR/mkey back into the cache. In all cases they should be set correctly.
alloc_cacheable_mr() was setting cachable but not filling rb_key,
resulting in cache_ent_find_and_store() bucketing them all into a 0 length
entry.
implicit_get_child_mr()/mlx5_ib_alloc_implicit_mr() failed to set cachable
or rb_key at all, so the cache was not working at all for implicit ODP.

When a cache ent already exists but doesn't have any mkeys in it the cache
will automatically create a new one based on the specification in the
ent->rb_key.
ent->ats was missed when creating the new key and so ma_translation_mode
was not being set even though the ent requires it.

With commit 27bd5fdc24c0 ("KVM: SEV-ES: Prevent MSR access post VMSA
encryption"), older VMMs like QEMU 9.0 and older will fail when booting
SEV-ES guests with something like the following error:

qemu-system-x86_64: ../qemu.git/target/i386/kvm/kvm.c:3950: kvm_get_msrs: Assertion `ret == cpu->kvm_msr_buf->nmsrs' failed.
This is because older VMMs that might still call
svm_get_msr()/svm_set_msr() for SEV-ES guests after guest boot even if
those interfaces were essentially just noops because of the vCPU state
being encrypted and stored separately in the VMSA. Now those VMMs will
get an -EINVAL and generally crash.
Newer VMMs that are aware of KVM_SEV_INIT2 however are already aware of
the stricter limitations of what vCPU state can be sync'd during
guest run-time, so newer QEMU for instance will work both for legacy
KVM_SEV_ES_INIT interface as well as KVM_SEV_INIT2.
So when using KVM_SEV_INIT2 it's okay to assume userspace can deal with
-EINVAL, whereas for legacy KVM_SEV_ES_INIT the kernel might be dealing
with either an older VMM and so it needs to assume that returning
-EINVAL might break the VMM.
Address this by only returning -EINVAL if the guest was started with
KVM_SEV_INIT2. Otherwise, just silently return.

The recent fix introduced a reverse selection of
CONFIG_SERIAL_MULTI_INSTANTIATE, but its condition isn't always met.
Use a weak reverse selection to suggest the config for avoiding such
inconsistencies, instead.

This is almost compatible, but passing a negative offset should result
in a EINVAL error, but on mips o32 compat mode would seek to a large
32-bit byte offset.
Use compat_sys_lseek() to correctly sign-extend the argument.

If the `amd-pstate` driver is not loaded automatically by default,
it is because the kernel command line parameter has not been added.
To resolve this issue, it is necessary to call the `amd_pstate_set_driver()`
function to enable the desired mode (passive/active/guided) before registering
the driver instance.
This ensures that the driver is loaded correctly without relying on the kernel
command line parameter.
When there is no parameter added to command line, Kernel config will
provide the default mode to load.
Meanwhile, user can add driver mode in command line which will override
the kernel config default option.

The amd-pstate-epp driver has been implemented and resolves the
performance drop issue seen in passive mode for shared memory type
CPPC systems. Users who enable the active mode driver will not
experience a performance drop compared to the passive mode driver.
Therefore, the EPP driver should be loaded by default for shared
memory type CPPC system to get better performance.

replace the usage of the deprecated boot_cpu_has() function with
the modern cpu_feature_enabled() function. The switch to cpu_feature_enabled()
ensures compatibility with the latest CPU feature detection mechanisms and
improves code maintainability.

If CPPC feature is supported by the CPU however the CPUID flag bit is not
set by SBIOS, the `amd_pstate` will be failed to load while system
booting.
So adding one more debug message to inform user to check the SBIOS setting,
The change also can help maintainers to debug why amd_pstate driver failed
to be loaded at system booting if the processor support CPPC.

Add CPU ID checking in case the driver attempt to load on systems where
CPPC functionality is unavailable. And the warning message will not
be shown if CPPC is not supported.
It will also print debug message if the CPU has no CPPC support that
helps to debug the driver loading failure issue.

To enhance the debugging capability of the driver loading failure for
broken CPPC ACPI tables, it can optimize the expression by moving the
verification of `min_freq`, `nominal_freq`, and other dependency values
to the `amd_pstate_init_freq()` function where they are initialized.
If any of these values are incorrect, the `amd-pstate` driver will not be registered.
By ensuring that these values are correct before they are used, it will facilitate
the debugging process when encountering driver loading failures due to faulty CPPC
ACPI tables from BIOS

The EPP string for 'default' represents what the firmware had configured
as the default EPP value but once a user changes EPP to another string
they can't reset it back to 'default'.
Cache the firmware EPP value and allow the user to write 'default' using
this value.
