ARM has recently supported KASAN, so I think that it's time to add
KASAN regions for PTDUMP on ARM.
This patch has been tested with QEMU + vexpress-a15. Both
CONFIG_ARM_LPAE and no CONFIG_ARM_LPAE.
The result after patching looks like this:

The vdso linker script is prepocessed on demand. Adding it to 'targets'
is enough, and line 13 of this Makefile does that. This extra-y addition
is unneeded.

Currently ARCH_HAVE_NMI_SAFE_CMPXCHG is not set on Arm systems and this
makes it impossible to enable features such as ftrace histogram triggers
on Arm platforms.
Most Arm systems are NMI safe simply because there is no NMI but this isn't
universally true meaning we cannot set ARCH_HAVE_NMI_SAFE_CMPXCHG for all
Arm devices. However the load/store exclusive implementation of cmpxchg is
NMI-safe and this implementation is used ARMv6k and later. Let's select
ARCH_HAVE_NMI_SAFE_CMPXCHG for these systems.
Note that ARMv6 uses load/store exclusive for 32-bit cmpxchg but relies on
interrupt masking for 8- and 16-bit operations. This patch is conservative
and does not change behaviour for CPU_V6.

The driver core ignores the return value of struct bus_type::remove
because there is only little that can be done. To simplify the quest to
make this function return void, let struct locomo_driver::remove return
void, too. All users already unconditionally return 0, this commit makes
it obvious that returning an error code is a bad idea and ensures future
users behave accordingly.

It was observed that decompressor running on hardware implementing ARM v8.2
Load/Store Multiple Atomicity and Ordering Control (LSMAOC), say, as guest,
would stuck just after:
Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel.
The reason is that it clears nTLSMD bit when disabling caches:
nTLSMD, bit [3]
When ARMv8.2-LSMAOC is implemented:
No Trap Load Multiple and Store Multiple to
Device-nGRE/Device-nGnRE/Device-nGnRnE memory.
0b0 All memory accesses by A32 and T32 Load Multiple and Store
Multiple at EL1 or EL0 that are marked at stage 1 as
Device-nGRE/Device-nGnRE/Device-nGnRnE memory are trapped and
generate a stage 1 Alignment fault.
0b1 All memory accesses by A32 and T32 Load Multiple and Store
Multiple at EL1 or EL0 that are marked at stage 1 as
Device-nGRE/Device-nGnRE/Device-nGnRnE memory are not trapped.
This bit is permitted to be cached in a TLB.
This field resets to 1.
Otherwise:
Reserved, RES1
So as effect we start getting traps we are not quite ready for.
Looking into history it seems that mask used for SCTLR clear came from
the similar code for ARMv4, where bit[3] is the enable/disable bit for
the write buffer. That not applicable to ARMv7 and onwards, so retire
that bit from the masks.

Currently, the start address of physical memory is obtained by masking
the program counter with a fixed mask of 0xf8000000. This mask value
was chosen as a balance between the requirements of different platforms.
However, this does require that the start address of physical memory is
a multiple of 128 MiB, precluding booting Linux on platforms where this
requirement is not fulfilled.
Fix this limitation by validating the masked address against the memory
information in the passed DTB. Only use the start address
from DTB when masking would yield an out-of-range address, prefer the
traditional method in all other cases. Note that this applies only to the
explicitly passed DTB on modern systems, and not to a DTB appended to
the kernel, or to ATAGS. The appended DTB may need to be augmented by
information from ATAGS, which may need to rely on knowledge of the start
address of physical memory itself.
This allows to boot Linux on r7s9210/rza2mevb using the 64 MiB of SDRAM
on the RZA2MEVB sub board, which is located at 0x0C000000 (CS3 space),
i.e. not at a multiple of 128 MiB.

The build robots have discovered that uncompress debugging
and semihosting does not play well together.
This is due to many factors but in general semihosting
debug needs to be rewritten to work the same way as any
LL_DEBUG, e.g. with a header in
arch/arm/include/debug/semihosting.S
This is a long term solution and needs testing on real
hardware and/or software models using semihosting.
For now disable uncompress debugging under semihosting.

Take the 4 instruction byte swapping sequence from the decompressor's
head.S, and turn it into a rev_l GAS macro for general use. While
at it, make it use the 'rev' instruction when compiling for v6 or
later.

Since commit 36e2c7421f02 ("fs: don't allow splice read/write without
explicit ops") we've required that file operation structures explicitly
enable splice support, rather than falling back to the default handlers.
Most /proc files use the indirect 'struct proc_ops' to describe their
file operations, and were fixed up to support splice earlier in commits
40be821d627c..b24c30c67863, but the mountinfo files interact with the
VFS directly using their own 'struct file_operations' and got missed as
a result.
This adds the necessary support for splice to work for /proc/*/mountinfo
and friends.

brace") removed a left-over curly brace that caused build failures, but

Commit 660c486590aa ("PCI: dwc: Set 32-bit DMA mask for MSI target address
allocation") added dma_mask_set() call to explicitly set 32-bit DMA mask
for MSI message mapping, but for now it throws a warning on ret == 0, while
dma_set_mask() returns 0 in case of success.
Fix this by inverting the condition.

The problem seems to be dw_pcie_setup_rc() is now called twice before and
after the link up handling. The fix is to move Tegra's link up handling to
.start_link() function like other DWC drivers. Tegra is a bit more
complicated than others as it re-inits the whole DWC controller to retry
the link. With this, the initialization ordering is restored to match the
prior sequence.

clang (quite rightly) complains fairly loudly about the newly added
mpc1_get_mpc_out_mux() function returning an uninitialized value if the
'opp_id' checks don't pass.
This may not happen in practice, but the code really shouldn't return
garbage if the sanity checks don't pass.
So just initialize 'val' to zero to avoid the issue.

Commit 64a1b95bb9fe ("genirq: Restrict export of irq_to_desc()") removed
the export of irq_to_desc() unless powerpc KVM is being built, because
there is still a use of irq_to_desc() in modular code there.
However it used:
#ifdef CONFIG_KVM_BOOK3S_64_HV
Which doesn't work when that symbol is =m, leading to a build failure:
ERROR: modpost: "irq_to_desc" [arch/powerpc/kvm/kvm-hv.ko] undefined!
Fix it by checking for the definedness of the correct symbol which is
CONFIG_KVM_BOOK3S_64_HV_MODULE.

Swap the calling sequence of krealloc() and __request_region(), call the
latter first. In this way, the value of dev_dax->nr_range does not need to
be considered when __request_region() failed.

range in a device-dax instance. Consolidate this into a new
dev_dax_trim_range() helper.

The argv_split() function must be paired with argv_free(), else we must
keep a reference to the argv array received or do the freeing ourselves,
in synthesize_sdt_probe_command() we were simply leaking that argv[]
array.

A separate field isn't strictly required. The core field could be
re-used for thread IDs as a single field was used previously.
But separating them will avoid confusion and catch potential errors
where core IDs are read as thread IDs and vice versa.
Also remove the placeholder id field which is now no longer used.

Add socket as a separate member so that it doesn't have to be packed
into the int value.
When the socket ID was larger than 8 bits the output appeared corrupted
or incomplete.
For example, here on ThunderX2 'perf stat' reports a socket of -1 and an
invalid die number:
./perf stat -a --per-die
The socket id number is too big.
Performance counter stats for 'system wide':

This fixes the "Session topology" self test on ThunderX2.
After this fix the output contains the correct socket and die IDs and no
longer prints a warning about the size of the socket ID:

Replace usages of perf_cpu_map with cpu_aggr map in places that are
involved with 'perf stat' aggregation.
This will then later be changed to be a map of cpu_aggr_id rather than
an int so that more data can be stored.
No functional changes.

Currently this is a duplicate of perf_cpu_map so that it can be used as
a drop in replacement.
In a later commit it will be changed from a map of ints to use the new
cpu_aggr_id struct.

This struct currently has only a single int member so that it can be
used as a drop in replacement for the existing behaviour.
Comparison and constructor functions have also been added that will
replace usages of '==' and '= -1'.
No functional changes.

Use the existing allocator for perf_cpu_map to avoid use of raw malloc.
This could cause an issue in later commits where the size of
perf_cpu_map is changed.

The command "make coccicheck C=1 CHECK=scripts/coccicheck" results in the
error:
./scripts/coccicheck: line 65: -1: shift count out of range
This happens because every time the C variable is specified,
the shell arguments need to be "shifted" in order to take only
the last argument, which is the C file to test. These shell arguments
mostly comprise flags that have been set in the Makefile. However,
when coccicheck is specified in the make command as a rule, the
number of shell arguments is zero, thus passing the invalid value -1
to the shift command, resulting in an error.
Modify coccicheck to print correct usage of make coccicheck so as to
avoid the error.

EDID parsing in S3 resume pushes new display modes
to probed_modes list but doesn't consolidate to actual
mode list. This creates a race condition when
amdgpu_dm_connector_ddc_get_modes() re-initializes the
list head without walking the list and results in memory leak.
