2025-04-02selftests/bpf: Fix tests after fields reorder in struct fileSong Liu1-1/+1
The change in struct file [1] moved f_ref to the 3rd cache line. It made *(u64 *)file dereference invalid from the verifier point of view, because btf_struct_walk() walks into f_lock field, which is 4-byte long. Fix the selftests to deference the file pointer as a 4-byte access. [1] commit e249056c91a2 ("fs: place f_ref to 3rd cache line in struct file to resolve false sharing") Reported-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Song Liu <song@kernel.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20250327185528.1740787-1-song@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Alexei Starovoitov <ast@kernel.org>
2024-12-06selftests/bpf: Consolidate kernel modules into common directoryToke Høiland-Jørgensen1-1/+1
The selftests build four kernel modules which use copy-pasted Makefile targets. This is a bit messy, and doesn't scale so well when we add more modules, so let's consolidate these rules into a single rule generated for each module name, and move the module sources into a single directory. To avoid parallel builds of the different modules stepping on each other's toes during the 'modpost' phase of the Kbuild 'make modules', the module files should really be a grouped target. However, make only added explicit support for grouped targets in version 4.3, which is newer than the minimum version supported by the kernel. However, make implicitly treats pattern matching rules with multiple targets as a grouped target, so we can work around this by turning the rule into a pattern matching target. We do this by replacing '.ko' with '%ko' in the targets with subst(). 2024-05-01selftests/bpf: add tests for the "module: Function" syntaxViktor Malik1-0/+23
The previous patch added support for the "module:function" syntax for tracing programs. This adds tests for explicitly specifying the module name via the SEC macro and via the bpf_program__set_attach_target call. 2022-10-25selftests/bpf: Add kprobe_multi check to module attach testJiri Olsa1-0/+6
Adding test that makes sure the kernel module won't be removed if there's kprobe multi link defined on top of it. 2022-04-28selftests/bpf: Use target-less SEC() definitions in various testsAndrii Nakryiko1-1/+1
Add new or modify existing SEC() definitions to be target-less and validate that libbpf handles such program definitions correctly. For kprobe/kretprobe we also add explicit test that generic bpf_program__attach() works in cases when kprobe definition contains proper target. It wasn't previously tested as selftests code always explicitly specified the target regardless. 2021-12-16selftest/bpf: Add a test that reads various addresses.Alexei Starovoitov1-0/+12
Add a function to bpf_testmod that returns invalid kernel and user addresses. Then attach an fexit program to that function that tries to read memory through these addresses. This logic checks that bpf_probe_read_kernel and BPF_PROBE_MEM logic is sane. 2021-10-08bpf/selftests: Add test for writable bare tracepointHou Tao1-0/+14
Add a writable bare tracepoint in bpf_testmod module, and trigger its calling when reading /sys/kernel/bpf_testmod with a specific buffer length. The reading will return the value in writable context if the early return flag is enabled in writable context.
