Since commit b21269b12e48 ("arm64: dts: imx8mm: add GPC node") the GW7901 will hang during kernel init because it does not power the unused GPU voltage rails on the IMX8MM. Disable pgc_gpumix to work around this. We also disable the GPU devices that depend on the gpumix power domain and pgc_gpu to avoid them staying in a probe deferred state forever. Additionally as the MIPI voltage rail is also not connected on this board we disable pgc_mipi and disp_blk_ctrl. 2021-10-14arm64: dts: qcom: apq8016-sbc: Clarify firmware-namesStephan Gerhold1-3/+3
Commit 0f6b380d580c ("arm64: dts: qcom: apq8016-sbc: Update modem and WiFi firmware path") added "firmware-name"s to the APQ8016 SBC (DB410c) device tree to separate the (test key)-signed firmware from other devices. However, the added names are a bit confusing. The "modem" firmware used by DB410c is actually a simplified version for APQ8016 that lacks most of the modem functionality (phone calls, SMS etc) that is available on MSM8916. Placing it in "qcom/msm8916/modem.mbn" suggests that it supports all functionality for MSM and not just the reduced functionality for APQ. Request the firmware from "qcom/apq8016/modem.mbn" instead to clarify this. Do the same for "wcnss.mbn" for consistency (although the WCNSS firmware works just fine on MSM8916). Finally, add a "_sbc" suffix to the WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv.bin firmware file. It seems like the nv.bin firmware is somewhat board specific and can therefore vary a bit from device to device. This makes it more clear which board it is intended to be used for. 2021-10-14arm64: defconfig: Disable firmware sysfs fallbackBjorn Andersson1-1/+0
Part of the enablement of SDMA on the IMX platforms, '7f4e4afa140c ("arm64: defconfig: Enable SDMA on i.mx8mq/8mm")' also enabled CONFIG_FW_LOADER_USER_HELPER_FALLBACK, to allow "firmware loaded by udev". Unfortunately having the fallback enabled does, due to the 60 second timeout, essentially requiring userspace to provide a firmware loader. But systemd dropped the support for this interface back in 2014 and because arm64 is the only architecture that has this enabled, there doesn't seem to be any standard solution available. Examples of this problem can be found in e.g. the ath10k driver, which with a standard distro can take about 10 minutes before wlan0 appears. The alternative to this patch would be to change these drivers to use firmware_request_direct(), to avoid the sysfs fallback. But that would prevent other systems, such as Android, to rely on a userspace firmware loader to pick the firmware from a non-standard place, with just a custom defconfig. This patch therefor attempts to align the arm64 defconfig will all other architectures in the upstream kernel. 2021-10-14ARM: dts: ux500: Switch battery nodes to standardLinus Walleij10-18/+44
This force-converts the per-device battery node into the standard properties using "simple-battery" for the HREF machines and the corresponding Samsung battery for the mobile phones. This is fine to do since the battery data in the DTS files has never been deployed or used. In commit a1149ae97554 "ARM: ux500: Disable Power Supply and Battery Management by default" it was turned off and has not been switched back on since. In the meantime standardized bindings for batteries have appeared making the old AB8500 battery bindings obsolete. The battery node which is now in the middle of an included file is obviously a per-device piece of information so push this down to each board. The HREF machines all have the same battery and can share a single node in the HREF dtsi file. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>

2021-10-14powerpc/perf: Fix cycles/instructions as PM_CYC/PM_INST_CMPL in power10Athira Rajeev2-17/+35
On power9 and earlier platforms, the default event used for cyles and instructions is PM_CYC (0x0001e) and PM_INST_CMPL (0x00002) respectively. These events use two programmable PMCs and by default will count irrespective of the run latch state (idle state). But since they use programmable PMCs, these events can lead to multiplexing with other events, because there are only 4 programmable PMCs. Hence in power10, performance monitoring unit (PMU) driver uses performance monitor counter 5 (PMC5) and performance monitor counter6 (PMC6) for counting instructions and cycles. Currently on power10, the event used for cycles is PM_RUN_CYC (0x600F4) and instructions uses PM_RUN_INST_CMPL (0x500fa). But counting of these events in idle state is controlled by the CC56RUN bit setting in Monitor Mode Control Register0 (MMCR0). If the CC56RUN bit is zero, PMC5/6 will not count when CTRL[RUN] (run latch) is zero. This could lead to missing some counts if a thread is in idle state during system wide profiling. To fix it, set the CC56RUN bit in MMCR0 for power10, which makes PMC5 and PMC6 count instructions and cycles regardless of the run latch state. Since this change make PMC5/6 count as PM_INST_CMPL/PM_CYC, rename the event code 0x600f4 as PM_CYC instead of PM_RUN_CYC and event code 0x500fa as PM_INST_CMPL instead of PM_RUN_INST_CMPL. The changes are only for PMC5/6 event codes and will not affect the behaviour of PM_RUN_CYC/PM_RUN_INST_CMPL if progammed in other PMC's. Qualcomm driver updates for v5.16 This drops the use of power-domains for exposing the load_state from the QMP driver to clients, to avoid issues related to system suspend. SMP2P becomes wakeup capable, to allow dying remoteprocs to wake up Linux from suspend to perform recovery. It adds RPM power-domain support for SM6350 and MSM8953 and base RPM support for MSM8953 and QCM2290. It adds support for MSM8996, SDM630 and SDM660 in the SPM driver, which will enable the introduction of proper voltage scaling of the CPU subsystem. Support for releasing secondary CPUs on MSM8226 is introduced. The Asynchronous Packet Router (APR) driver is extended to support the new Generic Packet Router (GPR) variant, which is used to communicate with the firmware in the new AudioReach audio driver. Lastly it transitions a number of drivers to safer string functions, as well as switching things to use devm_platform_ioremap_resource(). * tag 'qcom-drivers-for-5.16' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/qcom/linux: (40 commits) soc: qcom: apr: Add GPR support soc: dt-bindings: qcom: add gpr bindings soc: qcom: apr: make code more reuseable soc: dt-bindings: qcom: apr: deprecate qcom,apr-domain property soc: dt-bindings: qcom: apr: convert to yaml dt-bindings: soc: qcom: aoss: Delete unused power-domain definitions dt-bindings: msm/dp: Remove aoss-qmp header soc: qcom: aoss: Drop power domain support dt-bindings: soc: qcom: aoss: Drop the load state power-domain soc: qcom: smp2p: Add wakeup capability to SMP2P IRQ dt-bindings: power: rpmpd: Add SM6350 to rpmpd binding dt-bindings: soc: qcom: aoss: Add SM6350 compatible soc: qcom: llcc: Disable MMUHWT retention soc: qcom: smd-rpm: Add QCM2290 compatible dt-bindings: soc: qcom: smd-rpm: Add QCM2290 compatible firmware: qcom_scm: Add compatible for MSM8953 SoC dt-bindings: firmware: qcom-scm: Document msm8953 bindings soc: qcom: pdr: Prefer strscpy over strcpy soc: qcom: rpmh-rsc: Make use of the helper function devm_platform_ioremap_resource_byname() soc: qcom: gsbi: Make use of the helper function devm_platform_ioremap_resource() ... 2021-10-13powerpc/xive: Discard disabled interrupts in get_irqchip_state()Cédric Le Goater1-1/+2
When an interrupt is passed through, the KVM XIVE device calls the set_vcpu_affinity() handler which raises the P bit to mask the interrupt and to catch any in-flight interrupts while routing the interrupt to the guest. On the guest side, drivers (like some Intels) can request at probe time some MSIs and call synchronize_irq() to check that there are no in flight interrupts. This will call the XIVE get_irqchip_state() handler which will always return true as the interrupt P bit has been set on the host side and lock the CPU in an infinite loop. Fix that by discarding disabled interrupts in get_irqchip_state(). 2021-10-13powerpc: Set max_mapnr correctlyChristophe Leroy1-1/+1
max_mapnr is used by virt_addr_valid() to check if a linear address is valid. It must only include lowmem PFNs, like other architectures. Problem detected on a system with 1G mem (Only 768M are mapped), with CONFIG_DEBUG_VIRTUAL and CONFIG_TEST_DEBUG_VIRTUAL, it didn't report virt_to_phys(VMALLOC_START), VMALLOC_START being 0xf1000000. 2021-10-13KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: H_ENTER filter out reserved HPTE[B] valueNicholas Piggin2-0/+13
The HPTE B field is a 2-bit field with values 0b10 and 0b11 reserved. This field is also taken from the HPTE and used when KVM executes TLBIEs to set the B field of those instructions. Disallow the guest setting B to a reserved value with H_ENTER by rejecting it. This is the same approach already taken for rejecting reserved (unsupported) LLP values. This prevents the guest from being able to induce the host to execute TLBIE with reserved values, which is not known to be a problem with current processors but in theory it could prevent the TLBIE from working correctly in a future processor.
