2022-02-14s390/uaccess: Add copy_from/to_user_key functionsJanis Schoetterl-Glausch2-18/+85
Add copy_from/to_user_key functions, which perform storage key checking. These functions can be used by KVM for emulating instructions that need to be key checked. These functions differ from their non _key counterparts in include/linux/uaccess.h only in the additional key argument and must be kept in sync with those. Since the existing uaccess implementation on s390 makes use of move instructions that support having an additional access key supplied, we can implement raw_copy_from/to_user_key by enhancing the existing implementation. 2022-02-14parisc: Fix some apparent put_user() failuresHelge Deller1-14/+15
After commit 4b9d2a731c3d ("parisc: Switch user access functions to signal errors in r29 instead of r8") bash suddenly started to report those warnings after login: -bash: cannot set terminal process group (-1): Bad file descriptor -bash: no job control in this shell It turned out, that a function call inside a put_user(), e.g.: put_user(vt_do_kdgkbmode(console), (int __user *)arg); clobbered the error register (r29) and thus the put_user() call itself seem to have failed. Rearrange the C-code to pre-calculate the intermediate value and then do the put_user(). Additionally prefer the "+" constraint on pu_err and gu_err registers to tell the compiler that those operands are both read and written by the assembly instruction. Warnings in assembly must use EMIT_WARN_ENTRY in order to generate the necessary entry in exception table. Check in EMIT_BUG_ENTRY that flags don't include BUGFLAG_WARNING. This change avoids problems like the one fixed by commit fd1eaaaaa686 ("powerpc/64s: Use EMIT_WARN_ENTRY for SRR debug warnings"). 2022-02-14kbuild: unify cmd_copy and cmd_shippedMasahiro Yamada2-2/+2
cmd_copy and cmd_shipped have similar functionality. The difference is that cmd_copy uses 'cp' while cmd_shipped 'cat'. Unify them into cmd_copy because this macro name is more intuitive. Going forward, cmd_copy will use 'cat' to avoid the permission issue. I also thought of 'cp --no-preserve=mode' but this option is not mentioned in the POSIX spec [1], so I am keeping the 'cat' command. 2022-02-13KVM: x86: Replace memset() "optimization" with normal per-field writesSean Christopherson2-7/+8
Explicitly zero select fields in the emulator's decode cache instead of zeroing the fields via a gross memset() that spans six fields. gcc and clang are both clever enough to batch the first five fields into a single quadword MOV, i.e. memset() and individually zeroing generate identical code. Removing the wart also prepares KVM for FORTIFY_SOURCE performing compile-time and run-time field bounds checking for memset(). No functional change intended. The version we can support (because of access to the hardware) is WG302v1, so rename the file and make the following modifications: - We have 32MB memory not 16MB - The default console speed is 9600 baud so use this - The device has no ATA disk nor USB so drop the /dev/sda1 default mount, this needs to mount ramdisk or NFS - Both serial0 and serial1 cannot be assigned with aliases, just assign serial0 - The Flash is just 8MB so augment the size - The Flash FIS index is at eraseblock 0x3f - The PHY is at MDIO address 30 Tested by bringing the Netgear WG302v1 up to userspace using initramfs appended to the kernel and downloaded over TFTP, then ifconfig to bring up eth0 and pinging the host. The Kconfig entry for the Motorola PrPMC1100 was added to the kernel in the very first git import for v2.6.12-rc2 in 2005. But it was never used for anything since it was not accompanied by any boardfile. It is easy to support with a device tree if someone needs it, delete this stray Kconfig. We are just using the new PCI driver in the proper PCI host drivers folder: drivers/pci/controller/pci-ixp4xx.c. The new driver does not support indirect PCI but it has turned out noone is using this. If the feature is desired we have ways to implement it, suggested by John Linville.
