2022-09-20drm/hisilicon: Add depends on MMURandy Dunlap1-0/+1
The Kconfig symbol depended on MMU but was dropped by the commit acad3fe650a5 ("drm/hisilicon: Removed the dependency on the mmu") because it already had as a dependency ARM64 that already selects MMU. But later, commit a0f25a6bb319 ("drm/hisilicon/hibmc: Allow to be built if COMPILE_TEST is enabled") allowed the driver to be built for non-ARM64 when COMPILE_TEST is set but that could lead to unmet direct dependencies and linking errors. Prevent a kconfig warning when MMU is not enabled by making DRM_HISI_HIBMC depend on MMU. WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for DRM_TTM Depends on [n]: HAS_IOMEM [=y] && DRM [=m] && MMU [=n] Selected by [m]: - DRM_TTM_HELPER [=m] && HAS_IOMEM [=y] && DRM [=m] - DRM_HISI_HIBMC [=m] && HAS_IOMEM [=y] && DRM [=m] && PCI [=y] && (ARM64 || COMPILE_TEST [=y]) Fixes: acad3fe650a5 ("drm/hisilicon: Removed the dependency on the mmu") Signed-off-by: Randy Dunlap <rdunlap@infradead.org> Cc: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com> Cc: Thomas Zimmermann <tzimmermann@suse.de> Cc: Xinliang Liu <xinliang.liu@linaro.org> Cc: Tian Tao <tiantao6@hisilicon.com> Cc: John Stultz <jstultz@google.com> Cc: Xinwei Kong <kong.kongxinwei@hisilicon.com> Cc: Chen Feng <puck.chen@hisilicon.com> Cc: Christian Koenig <christian.koenig@amd.com> Cc: Huang Rui <ray.huang@amd.com> Cc: David Airlie <airlied@linux.ie> Cc: Daniel Vetter <daniel@ffwll.ch> Reviewed-by: Javier Martinez Canillas <javierm@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Javier Martinez Canillas <javierm@redhat.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20220531025557.29593-1-rdunlap@infradead.org
2022-08-03drm/gem: rename struct drm_gem_dma_object.{paddr => dma_addr}Danilo Krummrich1-2/+2
The field paddr of struct drm_gem_dma_object holds a DMA address, which might actually be a physical address. However, depending on the platform, it can also be a bus address or a virtual address managed by an IOMMU. Hence, rename the field to dma_addr, which is more applicable. In order to do this renaming the following coccinelle script was used: ``` @@ struct drm_gem_dma_object *gem; @@ - gem->paddr + gem->dma_addr @@ struct drm_gem_dma_object gem; @@ - gem.paddr + gem.dma_addr @exists@ typedef dma_addr_t; symbol paddr; @@ dma_addr_t paddr; <... - paddr + dma_addr ...> @@ symbol paddr; @@ dma_addr_t - paddr + dma_addr ; ``` This patch is compile-time tested with: ``` make ARCH={x86_64,arm,arm64} allyesconfig make ARCH={x86_64,arm,arm64} drivers/gpu/drm` ``` Acked-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Suggested-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com> Reviewed-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com> Signed-off-by: Danilo Krummrich <dakr@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20220802000405.949236-5-dakr@redhat.com
2022-08-03drm/gem: rename GEM CMA helpers to GEM DMA helpersDanilo Krummrich3-6/+6
Rename "GEM CMA" helpers to "GEM DMA" helpers - considering the hierarchy of APIs (mm/cma -> dma -> gem dma) calling them "GEM DMA" seems to be more applicable. Besides that, commit e57924d4ae80 ("drm/doc: Task to rename CMA helpers") requests to rename the CMA helpers and implies that people seem to be confused about the naming. In order to do this renaming the following script was used: ``` #!/bin/bash DIRS="drivers/gpu include/drm Documentation/gpu" REGEX_SYM_UPPER="[0-9A-Z_\-]" REGEX_SYM_LOWER="[0-9a-z_\-]" REGEX_GREP_UPPER="(${REGEX_SYM_UPPER}*)(GEM)_CMA_(${REGEX_SYM_UPPER}*)" REGEX_GREP_LOWER="(${REGEX_SYM_LOWER}*)(gem)_cma_(${REGEX_SYM_LOWER}*)" REGEX_SED_UPPER="s/${REGEX_GREP_UPPER}/\1\2_DMA_\3/g" REGEX_SED_LOWER="s/${REGEX_GREP_LOWER}/\1\2_dma_\3/g" # Find all upper case 'CMA' symbols and replace them with 'DMA'. for ff in $(grep -REHl "${REGEX_GREP_UPPER}" $DIRS) do sed -i -E "$REGEX_SED_UPPER" $ff done # Find all lower case 'cma' symbols and replace them with 'dma'. for ff in $(grep -REHl "${REGEX_GREP_LOWER}" $DIRS) do sed -i -E "$REGEX_SED_LOWER" $ff done # Replace all occurrences of 'CMA' / 'cma' in comments and # documentation files with 'DMA' / 'dma'. for ff in $(grep -RiHl " cma " $DIRS) do sed -i -E "s/ cma / dma /g" $ff sed -i -E "s/ CMA / DMA /g" $ff done # Rename all 'cma_obj's to 'dma_obj'. for ff in $(grep -RiHl "cma_obj" $DIRS) do sed -i -E "s/cma_obj/dma_obj/g" $ff done ``` Only a few more manual modifications were needed, e.g. reverting the following modifications in some DRM Kconfig files - select CMA if HAVE_DMA_CONTIGUOUS + select DMA if HAVE_DMA_CONTIGUOUS as well as manually picking the occurrences of 'CMA'/'cma' in comments and documentation which relate to "GEM CMA", but not "FB CMA". Also drivers/gpu/drm/Makefile was fixed up manually after renaming drm_gem_cma_helper.c to drm_gem_dma_helper.c. 2022-01-27drm/hisilicon/hibmc: Allow to be built if COMPILE_TEST is enabledJavier Martinez Canillas1-1/+1
The commit feeb07d0ca5a ("drm/hisilicon/hibmc: Make CONFIG_DRM_HISI_HIBMC depend on ARM64") made the driver Kconfig symbol to depend on ARM64 since it only supports that architecture and loading the module on others would lead to incorrect video modes being used. 2021-10-27drm/kirin: dsi: Adjust probe orderMaxime Ripard1-19/+33
Without proper care and an agreement between how DSI hosts and devices drivers register their MIPI-DSI entities and potential components, we can end up in a situation where the drivers can never probe.
