2022-06-14iio: adc: ti-adc12138: Fix alignment for DMA safetyJonathan Cameron1-1/+1
____cacheline_aligned is an insufficient guarantee for non-coherent DMA on platforms with 128 byte cachelines above L1. Switch to the updated IIO_DMA_MINALIGN definition. 2022-02-09spi: make remove callback a void functionUwe Kleine-König1-3/+1
The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. 2021-12-12iio:adc:ti-adc12138: Switch to generic firmware properties and drop of_match_ptrJonathan Cameron1-7/+4
This enables using the driver with other firmware types such as ACPI via PRP0001. Also part of a general attempt to move IIO drivers over to generic properties to avoid opportunities for cut and paste. 2020-09-21iio:adc:ti-adc12138 Fix alignment issue with timestampJonathan Cameron1-4/+9
One of a class of bugs pointed out by Lars in a recent review. iio_push_to_buffers_with_timestamp assumes the buffer used is aligned to the size of the timestamp (8 bytes). This is not guaranteed in this driver which uses an array of smaller elements on the stack. We move to a suitable structure in the iio_priv() data with alignment explicitly requested. This data is allocated with kzalloc so no data can leak apart from previous readings. Note that previously no leak at all could occur, but previous readings should never be a problem. In this case the timestamp location depends on what other channels are enabled. As such we can't use a structure without misleading by suggesting only one possible timestamp location. 2020-06-14iio: remove explicit IIO device parent assignmentAlexandru Ardelean1-1/+0
This patch applies the semantic patch: @@ expression I, P, SP; @@ I = devm_iio_device_alloc(P, SP); ... - I->dev.parent = P; It updates 302 files and does 307 deletions. This semantic patch also removes some comments like '/* Establish that the iio_dev is a child of the i2c device */' But this is is only done in case where the block is left empty. The patch does not seem to cover all cases. It looks like in some cases a different variable is used in some cases to assign the parent, but it points to the same reference. In other cases, the block covered by ... may be just too big to be covered by the semantic patch. However, this looks pretty good as well, as it does cover a big bulk of the drivers that should remove the parent assignment. This adds Texas Instruments' ADC12130/ADC12132/ADC12138 12-bit plus sign ADC driver. I have tested with the ADC12138.
