2020-11-17RDMA/core: remove use of dma_virt_opsChristoph Hellwig1-1/+0
Use the ib_dma_* helpers to skip the DMA translation instead. This removes the last user if dma_virt_ops and keeps the weird layering violation inside the RDMA core instead of burderning the DMA mapping subsystems with it. This also means the software RDMA drivers now don't have to mess with DMA parameters that are not relevant to them at all, and that in the future we can use PCI P2P transfers even for software RDMA, as there is no first fake layer of DMA mapping that the P2P DMA support. 2020-11-12RMDA/sw: Don't allow drivers using dma_virt_ops on highmem configsChristoph Hellwig1-1/+2
dma_virt_ops requires that all pages have a kernel virtual address. Introduce a INFINIBAND_VIRT_DMA Kconfig symbol that depends on !HIGHMEM and make all three drivers depend on the new symbol. Also remove the ARCH_DMA_ADDR_T_64BIT dependency, which has been obsolete since commit 4965a68780c5 ("arch: define the ARCH_DMA_ADDR_T_64BIT config symbol in lib/Kconfig") Fixes: 551199aca1c3 ("lib/dma-virt: Add dma_virt_ops") Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20201106181941.1878556-2-hch@lst.de Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: Jason Gunthorpe <jgg@nvidia.com>
2020-06-14treewide: replace '---help---' in Kconfig files with 'help'Masahiro Yamada1-1/+1
Since commit 84af7a6194e4 ("checkpatch: kconfig: prefer 'help' over '---help---'"), the number of '---help---' has been gradually decreasing, but there are still more than 2400 instances. This commit finishes the conversion. While I touched the lines, I also fixed the indentation. There are a variety of indentation styles found. a) 4 spaces + '---help---' b) 7 spaces + '---help---' c) 8 spaces + '---help---' d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---' e) 1 tab + '---help---' (correct indentation) f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---' g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---' In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran the following commend: $ find . -name 'Kconfig*' | xargs sed -i 's/^[[:space:]]*---help---/\thelp/' Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <masahiroy@kernel.org>

2018-10-03IB/{hfi1, qib, rdmavt}: Move copy SGE logic into rdmavtBrian Welty1-1/+1
This patch moves hfi1_copy_sge() into rdmavt for sharing with qib. This patch also moves all the wss_*() functions into rdmavt as several wss_*() functions are called from hfi1_copy_sge() When SGE copy mode is adaptive, cacheless copy may be done in some cases for performance reasons. In those cases, X86 cacheless copy function is called since the drivers that use rdmavt and may set SGE copy mode to adaptive are X86 only. For this reason, this patch adds "depends on X86_64" to rdmavt/Kconfig. Reviewed-by: Ashutosh Dixit <ashutosh.dixit@intel.com> Reviewed-by: Michael J. 2018-05-15IB: Fix RDMA_RXE and INFINIBAND_RDMAVT dependencies for DMA_VIRT_OPSBen Hutchings1-1/+1
DMA_VIRT_OPS requires that dma_addr_t is at least as wide as a pointer, which is expressed as a dependency on !64BIT || ARCH_DMA_ADDR_T_64BIT. For parisc64 this is not true, and if these IB modules are enabled, kconfig warns: WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for DMA_VIRT_OPS Depends on [n]: HAS_DMA [=y] && (!64BIT [=y] || ARCH_DMA_ADDR_T_64BIT) Selected by [m]: - INFINIBAND_RDMAVT [=m] && INFINIBAND [=m] && 64BIT [=y] && PCI [=y] - RDMA_RXE [=m] && INET [=y] && PCI [=y] && INFINIBAND [=m] Add dependencies to fix this. 2016-08-03IB/rdmavt: Disable by defaultBart Van Assche1-1/+0
There is a strict policy in the Linux kernel that new drivers must be disabled by default. Hence leave out the "default m" line from Kconfig. 2016-03-10IB/rdmavt: Create module framework and handle driver registrationDennis Dalessandro1-0/+6
This patch introduces the basics for a new module called rdma_vt. This new driver is a software implementation of the InfiniBand verbs and aims to replace the multiple implementations that exist and duplicate each others' code. While the call to actually register the device with the IB core happens in rdma_vt, most of the work is still done in the drivers themselves. This will be changing in a follow on patch this is just laying the groundwork for this infrastructure.
