2022-09-24media: sun6i-csi: Remove controls handler from the driverPaul Kocialkowski3-20/+1
The driver does not expose controls directly and thus does not need a controls handler for its own use. Controls attached to subdevs used to be exposed that way, however this can easily lead to issue when multiple subdevs attached to the same v4l2 device expose the same controls. Subdev controls should be set through each individual subdev node instead. 2022-09-24media: sun6i-csi: Refactor main driver data structuresPaul Kocialkowski4-227/+229

2022-03-18media: Kconfig: cleanup VIDEO_DEV dependenciesMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+1
media Kconfig has two entries associated to V4L API: VIDEO_DEV and VIDEO_V4L2. On Kernel 2.6.x, there were two V4L APIs, each one with its own flag. VIDEO_DEV were meant to: 1) enable Video4Linux and make its Kconfig options to appear; 2) it makes the Kernel build the V4L core. while VIDEO_V4L2 where used to distinguish between drivers that implement the newer API and drivers that implemented the former one. With time, such meaning changed, specially after the removal of all V4L version 1 drivers. At the current implementation, VIDEO_DEV only does (1): it enables the media options related to V4L, that now has: menu "Video4Linux options" visible if VIDEO_DEV source "drivers/media/v4l2-core/Kconfig" endmenu but it doesn't affect anymore the V4L core drivers. The rationale is that the V4L2 core has a "soft" dependency at the I2C bus, and now requires to select a number of other Kconfig options: config VIDEO_V4L2 tristate depends on (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV select RATIONAL select VIDEOBUF2_V4L2 if VIDEOBUF2_CORE default (I2C || I2C=n) && VIDEO_DEV In the past, merging them would be tricky, but it seems that it is now possible to merge those symbols, in order to simplify V4L dependencies. Let's keep VIDEO_DEV, as this one is used on some make *defconfig configurations. 2022-03-14media: platform: move platform menu dependencies to driversMauro Carvalho Chehab1-0/+1
Right now, platform dependencies are organized by the type of the platform driver. Yet, things tend to become very messy with time. The better seems to organize the drivers per manufacturer, as other Kernel subsystems are doing. As a preparation for such purpose, get rid of menuconfigs, moving the per-menu dependencies to be at the driver-specifig config entires. This shoud give flexibility to reorganize the platform drivers per manufacturer and re-sort them. This patch removes all "if..endif" options from the platform Kconfig, converting them into depends on. 2020-09-17dma-mapping: introduce DMA range map, supplanting dma_pfn_offsetJim Quinlan1-2/+9
The new field 'dma_range_map' in struct device is used to facilitate the use of single or multiple offsets between mapping regions of cpu addrs and dma addrs. It subsumes the role of "dev->dma_pfn_offset" which was only capable of holding a single uniform offset and had no region bounds checking. The function of_dma_get_range() has been modified so that it takes a single argument -- the device node -- and returns a map, NULL, or an error code. The map is an array that holds the information regarding the DMA regions. Each range entry contains the address offset, the cpu_start address, the dma_start address, and the size of the region. of_dma_configure() is the typical manner to set range offsets but there are a number of ad hoc assignments to "dev->dma_pfn_offset" in the kernel driver code. These cases now invoke the function dma_direct_set_offset(dev, cpu_addr, dma_addr, size). 2020-04-14media: Kconfig files: use select for V4L2 subdevs and MCMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+3
There are lots of drivers that only work when the media controller and/or the V4L2 subdev APIs are present. Right now, someone need to first enable those APIs before using those drivers. Well, ideally, drivers, should, instead *optionally* depend on it, in order for PC camera drivers to be able to use them, but nowadays most drivers are UVC cameras, with don't require a sensor driver. 2020-03-02media: Split v4l2_pipeline_pm_use into v4l2_pipeline_pm_{get, put}Ezequiel Garcia1-2/+2
Currently, v4l2_pipeline_pm_use() prototype is: int v4l2_pipeline_pm_use(struct media_entity *entity, int use) Where the 'use' argument shall only be set to '1' for enable/power-on, or to '0' for disable/power-off. The integer return is specified as only meaningful when 'use' is set to '1'. Let's enforce this semantic by splitting the function in two: v4l2_pipeline_pm_get and v4l2_pipeline_pm_put. This is done for several reasons. It makes the API easier to use (or harder to misuse). It removes the constraint on the values the 'use' argument shall take. Also, it removes the need to constraint the return value, by making v4l2_pipeline_pm_put void return. And last, it's more consistent with other kernel APIs, such as the runtime pm APIs, which makes the code more symmetric. 2019-02-18media: sun6i: Add support for JPEG media bus formatChen-Yu Tsai3-0/+8
The CSI controller can take raw data from the data bus and output it directly to capture buffers. This can be used to support the JPEG media bus format. While the controller can report minimum and maximum bytes per line, it has no way to report how many lines were captured in the last frame. Thus, even when the on-bus data is framed correctly, we have no way to accertain the actual amount of data captured, unless we scan the buffer for JPEG EOI markers, or sequential zeros. For now we leave bytesused alone, and leave it up to userspace applications to parse the data. 2019-02-18media: sun6i: Add support for RGB565 formatsChen-Yu Tsai3-2/+21
The CSI controller can take raw data from the data bus and output RGB565 format. The controller does not distinguish between RGB565 LE and BE. Instead this is determined by the media bus format, i.e. the format or order the sensor is sending data in. 2019-02-18media: sun6i: Fix CSI regmap's max_registerChen-Yu Tsai1-1/+1
max_register is currently set to 0x1000. This is beyond the mapped address range of the hardware, so attempts to dump the regmap from debugfs would trigger a kernel exception. Furthermore, the useful registers only occupy a small section at the beginning of the full range. Change the value to 0x9c, the last known register on the V3s and H3. On the A31, the register range is extended to support additional capture channels. Since this is not yet supported, ignore it for now. 2019-02-18media: sun6i: Add A64 CSI block supportJagan Teki1-0/+11
CSI block in Allwinner A64 has similar features as like in H3, but the default CSI_SCLK rate cannot work properly to drive the connected sensor interface. The tested mod cock rate is 300 MHz and BSP vfe media driver is also using the same rate. Unfortunately there is no valid information about clock rate in manual or any other sources except the BSP driver. so more faith on BSP code, because same has tested in mainline. So, add support for A64 CSI block by setting updated mod clock rate. 2019-01-16media: sun6i: Add H3 compatibleChen-Yu Tsai1-0/+1
The CSI controller found on the H3 (and H5) is a reduced version of the one found on the A31. It only has 1 channel, instead of 4 channels for time-multiplexed BT.656. Since the H3 is a reduced version, it cannot "fallback" to a compatible that implements more features than it supports. Add a compatible string entry for the H3.
