2021-11-17net: annotate accesses to queue->trans_startEric Dumazet1-1/+1
In following patches, dev_watchdog() will no longer stop all queues. It will read queue->trans_start locklessly. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2021-10-14ethernet: constify references to netdev->dev_addr in driversJakub Kicinski4-4/+4
This big patch sprinkles const on local variables and function arguments which may refer to netdev->dev_addr. Commit 406f42fa0d3c ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount of VLANs...") introduced a rbtree for faster Ethernet address look up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all the writes to it got through appropriate helpers. Some of the changes here are not strictly required - const is sometimes cast off but pointer is not used for writing. It seems like it's still better to add the const in case the code changes later or relevant -W flags get enabled for the build. No functional changes. 2021-10-07ethernet: use device_get_ethdev_address()Jakub Kicinski2-2/+2
Use the new device_get_ethdev_address() helper for the cases where dev->dev_addr is passed in directly as the destination. @@ expression dev, np; @@ - device_get_mac_address(np, dev->dev_addr, ETH_ALEN) + device_get_ethdev_address(np, dev) Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2021-10-07eth: fwnode: remove the addr len from mac helpersJakub Kicinski2-2/+2
All callers pass in ETH_ALEN and the function itself will return -EINVAL for any other address length. Just assume it's ETH_ALEN like all other mac address helpers (nvm, of, platform). Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2021-10-07eth: fwnode: change the return type of mac address helpersJakub Kicinski2-2/+2
fwnode_get_mac_address() and device_get_mac_address() return a pointer to the buffer that was passed to them on success or NULL on failure. None of the callers care about the actual value, only if it's NULL or not. These semantics differ from of_get_mac_address() which returns an int so to avoid confusion make the device helpers return an errno. 2021-08-23xgene-v2: Fix a resource leak in the error handling path of 'xge_probe()'Christophe JAILLET1-1/+3
A successful 'xge_mdio_config()' call should be balanced by a corresponding 'xge_mdio_remove()' call in the error handling path of the probe, as already done in the remove function. Update the error handling path accordingly. Fixes: ea8ab16ab225 ("drivers: net: xgene-v2: Add MDIO support") Signed-off-by: Christophe JAILLET <christophe.jaillet@wanadoo.fr> Signed-off-by: David S. 2020-08-27net: xgene: Move shared header file into include/linuxAndrew Lunn1-1/+1
This header file is currently included into the ethernet driver via a relative path into the PHY subsystem. This is bad practice, and causes issues for the upcoming move of the MDIO driver. Move the header file into include/linux to clean this up. v2: Move header to include/linux/mdio Reviewed-by: Florian Fainelli <f.fainelli@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. 2020-01-27drivers: net: xgene: Fix the order of the arguments of 'alloc_etherdev_mqs()'Christophe JAILLET1-1/+1
'alloc_etherdev_mqs()' expects first 'tx', then 'rx'. The semantic here looks reversed. Reorder the arguments passed to 'alloc_etherdev_mqs()' in order to keep the correct semantic. In fact, this is a no-op because both XGENE_NUM_[RT]X_RING are 8. 2019-12-12netdev: pass the stuck queue to the timeout handlerMichael S. Tsirkin2-2/+2
This allows incrementing the correct timeout statistic without any mess. Down the road, devices can learn to reset just the specific queue.
