2015-04-09cxgb3/4/4vf: Update drivers to use dma_rmb/wmb where appropriateAlexander Duyck1-10/+10
Update the Chelsio Ethernet drivers to use the dma_rmb/wmb calls instead of the full barriers in order to improve performance. 2014-03-24cxgb3: Call dev_kfree/consume_skb_any instead of [dev_]kfree_skb.Eric W. Biederman1-3/+3
Replace kfree_skb with dev_consume_skb_any in free_tx_desc, and write_tx_pkt_wr that can be called in hard irq and other contexts. Replace dev_kfree_skb with dev_kfree_skb_any in t3_eth_xmit that can be called in hard irq and other contexts. dev_kfree_skb is replaced with dev_kfree_skb_any in t3_eth_xmit as that location is a packet drop, while kfree_skb in free_tx_desc, and in write_tx_pkt_wr are places where packets are consumed in a healthy manner. 2013-10-29cxgb3: Fix length calculation in write_ofld_wr() on 32-bit architecturesBen Hutchings1-1/+2
The length calculation here is now invalid on 32-bit architectures, since sk_buff::tail is a pointer and sk_buff::transport_header is an integer offset: drivers/net/ethernet/chelsio/cxgb3/sge.c: In function 'write_ofld_wr': drivers/net/ethernet/chelsio/cxgb3/sge.c:1603:9: warning: passing argument 4 of 'make_sgl' makes integer from pointer without a cast [enabled by default] adap->pdev); ^ drivers/net/ethernet/chelsio/cxgb3/sge.c:964:28: note: expected 'unsigned int' but argument is of type 'sk_buff_data_t' static inline unsigned int make_sgl(const struct sk_buff *skb, ^ Use the appropriate skb accessor functions. 2013-08-15Revert "cxgb3: Check and handle the dma mapping errors"Alexey Kardashevskiy1-83/+24
This reverts commit f83331bab149e29fa2c49cf102c0cd8c3f1ce9f9. As the tests PPC64 (powernv platform) show, IOMMU pages are leaking when transferring big amount of small packets (<=64 bytes), "ping -f" and waiting for 15 seconds is the simplest way to confirm the bug. 2013-06-04cxgb3: Correct comparisons and calculations using skb->tail and skb-transport_headerLi RongQing1-1/+1
This corrects an regression introduced by "net: Use 16bits for *_headers fields of struct skbuff" when NET_SKBUFF_DATA_USES_OFFSET is not set. In that case skb->tail will be a pointer whereas skb->transport_header will be an offset from head. This is corrected by using wrappers that ensure that comparisons and calculations are always made using pointers. 2013-04-19net: vlan: add protocol argument to packet tagging functionsPatrick McHardy1-2/+2
Add a protocol argument to the VLAN packet tagging functions. In case of HW tagging, we need that protocol available in the ndo_start_xmit functions, so it is stored in a new field in the skb. The new field fits into a hole (on 64 bit) and doesn't increase the sks's size. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2011-10-19net: add skb frag size accessorsEric Dumazet1-6/+6
To ease skb->truesize sanitization, its better to be able to localize all references to skb frags size.
