2022-06-29sfc: Encapsulate access to netdev_priv()Jonathan Cooper1-11/+11
Once we separate struct efx_nic memory from net_device memory the existing usage will have to change. Apart from the new function efx_netdev_priv() accesses have been changed using: sed -i 's/netdev_priv/efx_netdev_priv/' Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cooper <jonathan.s.cooper@amd.com> Co-developed-by: Martin Habets <habetsm.xilinx@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Martin Habets <habetsm.xilinx@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2020-08-31sfc: return errors from efx_mcdi_set_id_led, and de-indirectEdward Cree1-2/+1
W=1 warnings indicated that 'rc' was unused in efx_mcdi_set_id_led(); change the function to return int instead of void and plumb the rc through the caller efx_ethtool_phys_id(). Since (post-Falcon) all sfc NICs use MCDI for this, there's no point in indirecting through a nic_type method, so remove that and just call efx_mcdi_set_id_led() directly. 2020-07-27sfc: skeleton EF100 PF driverEdward Cree1-2/+0
No TX or RX path, no MCDI, not even an ifup/down handler. Besides stubs, the bulk of the patch deals with reading the Xilinx extended PCIe capability, which tells us where to find our BAR. Though in the same module, EF100 has its own struct pci_driver, which is named sfc_ef100. A small number of additional nic_type methods are added; those in the TX (tx_enqueue) and RX (rx_packet) paths are called through indirect call wrappers to minimise the performance impact. 2020-07-27sfc: remove efx_ethtool_nway_reset()Edward Cree1-1/+0
An MDIO-based n-way restart does not make sense for any of the NICs supported by this driver, nor for the coming EF100. Unlike on Falcon (which was already split off into a separate driver), the PHY on all of Siena, EF10 and EF100 is managed by MC firmware. While Siena can talk to the PHY over MDIO, doing so for anything other than debugging purposes (mdio_mii_ioctl) is likely to confuse the firmware. (According to the SFC firmware team, this support was originally added to the Siena driver early in the development of that product, before it was decided to have firmware manage the PHY.) 2020-07-02sfc: get drvinfo driver name from outside the common codeEdward Cree1-0/+2

2018-12-06net: core: dev: Add extack argument to dev_open()Petr Machata1-1/+1
In order to pass extack together with NETDEV_PRE_UP notifications, it's necessary to route the extack to __dev_open() from diverse (possibly indirect) callers. One prominent API through which the notification is invoked is dev_open(). Therefore extend dev_open() with and extra extack argument and update all users. Most of the calls end up just encoding NULL, but bond and team drivers have the extack readily available. 2018-03-14sfc: support FEC configuration through ethtoolEdward Cree1-0/+32
As well as 'auto' and the forced 'off', 'rs' and 'baser' states, we also handle combinations of settings (since the fecparam->fec field is a bitmask), where auto|rs and auto|baser specify a preferred FEC mode but will fall back to the other if the cable or link partner doesn't support it. rs|baser (with or without auto bit) means prefer FEC even where auto wouldn't use it, but let FW choose which encoding to use. 2018-01-10sfc: support the ethtool ksettings API properly so that 25/50/100G worksEdward Cree1-3/+3
Store and handle ethtool link mode masks within the driver instead of just a single u32. However, quite a significant amount of existing code wants to manipulate the masks directly, and thus now uses the first unsigned long (i.e. mask[0]) as though it were a legacy u32 mask. This is ok because all the bits that code is interested in are in the first 32 bits of the mask; but it might be a good idea to change them in future to use the proper bitmap API. 2017-02-09sfc: process RX event inner checksum flagsJon Cooper1-0/+5
Add support for RX checksum offload of encapsulated packets. This essentially just means paying attention to the inner checksum flags in the RX event, and if *either* checksum flag indicates a fail then don't tell the kernel that checksum offload was successful. Also, count these checksum errors and export the counts to ethtool -S. Test the most common "good" case of RX events with a single bitmask instead of a series of ifs. Move the more specific error checking in to a separate function for clarity, and don't use unlikely() there since we know at least one of the bits is bad. 2016-12-03sfc: remove EFX_BUG_ON_PARANOID, use EFX_WARN_ON_[ONCE_]PARANOID insteadEdward Cree1-2/+2
Logically, EFX_BUG_ON_PARANOID can never be correct. For, BUG_ON should only be used if it is not possible to continue without potential harm; and since the non-DEBUG driver will continue regardless (as the BUG_ON is compiled out), clearly the BUG_ON cannot be needed in the DEBUG driver. So, replace every EFX_BUG_ON_PARANOID with either an EFX_WARN_ON_PARANOID or the newly defined EFX_WARN_ON_ONCE_PARANOID. Signed-off-by: Edward Cree <ecree@solarflare.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2016-11-30sfc: separate out SFC4000 ("Falcon") support into new sfc-falcon driverEdward Cree1-12/+3
Rationale: The differences between Falcon and Siena are in many ways larger than those between Siena and EF10 (despite Siena being nominally "Falcon- architecture"); for instance, Falcon has no MCPU, so there is no MCDI. Removing Falcon support from the sfc driver should simplify the latter, and avoid the possibility of Falcon support being broken by changes to sfc (which are rarely if ever tested on Falcon, it being end-of-lifed hardware). The sfc-falcon driver created in this changeset is essentially a copy of the sfc driver, but with Siena- and EF10-specific code, including MCDI, removed and with the "efx_" identifier prefix changed to "ef4_" (for "EFX 4000- series") to avoid collisions when both drivers are built-in. This changeset removes Falcon from the sfc driver's PCI ID table; then in sfc I've removed obvious Falcon-related code: I removed the Falcon NIC functions, Falcon PHY code, and EFX_REV_FALCON_*, then fixed up everything that referenced them. Also, increment minor version of both drivers (to 4.1). For now, CONFIG_SFC selects CONFIG_SFC_FALCON, so that updating old configs doesn't cause Falcon support to disappear; but that should be undone at some point in the future. 2016-11-18sfc: remove Software TSOEdward Cree1-0/+1
It gives no advantage over GSO now that xmit_more exists. If we find ourselves unable to handle a TSO skb (because our TXQ doesn't have a TSOv2 context and the NIC doesn't support TSOv1), hand it back to GSO. Also do that if the TSO handler fails with EINVAL for any other reason. As Falcon-architecture NICs don't support any firmware-assisted TSO, they no longer advertise TSO feature flags at all. Signed-off-by: Edward Cree <ecree@solarflare.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-11-18sfc: Firmware-Assisted TSO version 2Bert Kenward1-0/+1
Add support for FATSOv2 to the driver. FATSOv2 offloads far more of the task of TCP segmentation to the firmware, such that we now just pass a single super-packet to the NIC. This means TSO has a great deal in common with a normal DMA transmit, apart from adding a couple of option descriptors. NIC-specific checks have been moved off the fast path and in to initialisation where possible. This also moves FATSOv1/SWTSO to a new file (tx_tso.c). The end of transmit and some error handling is now outside TSO, since it is common with other code. Signed-off-by: Edward Cree <ecree@solarflare.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2015-05-21sfc: protect filter table against use-after-freeEdward Cree1-1/+1
If MCDI timeouts are encountered during efx_ef10_filter_table_remove(), an FLR will be queued, but efx->filter_state will still be kfree()d. The queued FLR will then call efx_ef10_filter_table_restore(), which will try to use efx->filter_state. This previously caused a panic. This patch adds an rwsem to protect the existence of efx->filter_state, separately from the spinlock protecting its contents. Users which can race against efx_ef10_filter_table_remove() should down_read this rwsem. Signed-off-by: Shradha Shah <sshah@solarflare.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2015-05-09sfc: Add use of shared RSS contexts.Jon Cooper1-3/+2
Allow PFs to allocate shared RSS contexts if we exhaust our exclusive RSS contexts. Make VFs use shared RSS contexts in all cases. Spruce up error handling so that the shadow copy of the RSS table is updated after successful update, rather than in all cases, so that we report the actual contents of the RSS table after a failure to set it, rather than what we'd like it to be. Populate context_size parameter when vacuously allocating RSS context of size 1. Signed-off-by: Shradha Shah <sshah@solarflare.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-12-08ethtool: Support for configurable RSS hash functionEyal Perry1-4/+14
This patch extends the set/get_rxfh ethtool-options for getting or setting the RSS hash function. It modifies drivers implementation of set/get_rxfh accordingly. This change also delegates the responsibility of checking whether a modification to a certain RX flow hash parameter is supported to the driver implementation of set_rxfh. User-kernel API is done through the new hfunc bitmask field in the ethtool_rxfh struct. A bit set in the hfunc field is corresponding to an index in the new string-set ETH_SS_RSS_HASH_FUNCS. Got approval from most of the relevant driver maintainers that their driver is using Toeplitz, and for the few that didn't answered, also assumed it is Toeplitz. 2014-01-23sfc: Use the correct maximum TX DMA ring size for SFC9100Ben Hutchings1-2/+2
As part of a workaround for a hardware erratum in the SFC9100 family (SF bug 35388), the TX_DESC_UPD_DWORD register address is also used for communicating with the event block, and only descriptor pointer values < 2048 are valid. If the TX DMA ring size is increased to 4096 descriptors (which the firmware still allows) then we may write a descriptor pointer value >= 2048, which has entirely different and undesirable effects!
