2011-06-06spi: reorganize driversGrant Likely1-356/+0
Sort the SPI makefile and enforce the naming convention spi_*.c for spi drivers. This change also rolls the contents of atmel_spi.h into the .c file since there is only one user of that particular include file. v2: - Use 'spi-' prefix instead of 'spi_' to match what seems to be be the predominant pattern for subsystem prefixes. - Clean up filenames in Kconfig and header comment blocks Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Acked-by: Wolfram Sang <w.sang@pengutronix.de> Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2010-07-03spi/bitbang: add support for SPI_MASTER_NO_{TX, RX} modesMarek Szyprowski1-1/+1
This patch adds a new flags argument to bitbang_txrx_be_cpha0 and bitbang_txrx_be_cpha1 transfer functions. This enables support for SPI_MASTER_NO_{TX,RX} transfer modes. The change should have no impact on speed of the existing drivers. bitbank_txrx_* functions are usually inlined into the drivers. When the argument is equal to constant zero, the optimizer would be able to eliminate the dead code (flags checks) easily. Tested on ARM and GCC 4.4.x and in all cases the checks were eliminated in the inlined function. 2010-05-25spi: move bitbang txrx utility functions to private headerhartleys1-2/+1
A number of files in drivers/spi fail checkincludes.pl due to the double include of <linux/spi/spi_bitbang.h>. The first include is needed to get the struct spi_bitbang definition and the spi_bitbang_* function prototypes. The second include happens after defining EXPAND_BITBANG_TXRX to get the inlined bitbang_txrx_* utility functions. The <linux/spi/spi_bitbang.h> header is also included by a number of other spi drivers, as well as some arch/ code, in order to use struct spi_bitbang and the associated functions. To fix the double include, and remove any potential confusion about it, move the inlined bitbang_txrx_* functions to a new private header in drivers/spi and also remove the need to define EXPAND_BITBANG_TXRX. 2007-05-08minor spi_butterfly cleanupDavid Brownell1-58/+4
Simplify the spi_butterfly driver by removing incomplete/unused support for the second SPI bus, implemented by the USI controller. This should make this a clearer example of how to write a parport bitbang driver. 2007-05-08layered parport code uses parport->devDavid Brownell1-17/+4
Update some of the layered parport_driver code to use parport->dev: - i2c-parport (parent of i2c_adapter) - spi_butterfly (parent of spi_master, allowing cruft removal) - lp (creating class_device) - ppdev (parent of parportN device) - tipar (creating class_device) There are still drivers that should be updated, like some of the input drivers; but they won't be any worse off than they are today. 2006-02-06[PATCH] SPI: spi_butterfly, restore lost deltasDavid Brownell1-19/+17
This resolves some minor version skew glitches that accumulated for the AVR Butterfly adapter driver, which caused among other things the existence of a duplicate Kconfig entry. Most of it boils down to comment updates, but in one case it removes some now-superfluous code that would be better if not copied into other controller-level drivers. 2006-01-13[PATCH] SPI: add spi_butterfly driverDavid Brownell1-0/+423
This adds a bitbanging parport based adaptor cable for AVR Butterfly, giving SPI links to its DataFlash chip and (eventually) firmware running in the card. Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
