2011-05-03staging: ath6kl: open/shared auth implementationNaveen Singh1-0/+5
If the wpa_supplicant conf file supplies both open and shared algorithm, and AP is configured as shared then connection never happens. Since it is a FMAC driver additional logic is added in driver which first detects this, then tries open algorithm for the first time and when it fails tries the shared algo. kvalo: fix style issues Signed-off-by: Naveen Singh <nsingh@atheros.com> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kalle.valo@atheros.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>

2011-04-25ath6kl: add support for AR6003 v2.1.1Naveen Singh1-34/+192
This adds support for AR6003 v2.1.1. Highlights changes for this new hardware are: 1. Host interest area, through which driver communicates with FW has been enhanced to accomodate additional members for proper functioanlity of new HW. 2. The firmware and the board data files are different for AR6003 v2.1.1. The capability to read those file have been added in the driver. 3. Certain parameters like numdevice, firmware mode needs to be programmed for proper functionality of new driver. Signed-off-by: Naveen Singh <nsingh@atheros.com> Signed-off-by: Luis R. 2011-04-04ath6kl: remove Bluetooth PAL code and WMI ACL TX/RX data supportLuis R. Rodriguez1-1/+1
ath6kl used to have an internal PAL for Bluetooth 3.0 support but this is no longer supported. The target used a WMI with an ACL header for supporting these frames. Userspace would use the ioctl AR6000_XIOCTL_ACL_DATA to send data to the target and the firmware would generate ACL frames. Remove both the parsing of the frames and the ioctl support. We leave a warning for now for if the target generates some sort of ACL data frame, later on we can remove this warning once we have proven the target is no longer generating these frames. It should be noted this also provides a fix for the processing of spurious ACL data frames from the target, previously they would not be dropped if they were generated by the target but EXPORT_HCI_PAL_INTERFACE was not compiled in. 2010-09-02staging: add ath6kl driver for AR6003 chipVipin Mehta68-0/+40596
AR6003 is a single stream, SDIO based 802.11 chipset from Atheros optimized for mobile and embedded devices. ath6kl is a cfg80211 driver for AR6003 and supports both the station and AP mode of operation. Station mode supports 802.11 a/b/g/n with HT20 on 2.4/5GHz and HT40 only on 5GHz. Some of the other features include WPA/WPA2, WPS, WMM, WMM-PS, and BT coexistence. AP mode can be operated only in b/g mode with support for a subset of features mentioned above. The driver supports cfg80211 but comes with its own set of wext ioctls which have historically supported some of our customers with features like BT 3.0 and AP mode of operation. For further details, please refer to: http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/ath6kl The driver requires firmware that runs on the chip's network processor. The majority of it is stored in ROM. The binaries that are downloaded and executed from RAM are as follows: 1) Patch against the code in ROM for bug fixes and feature enhancements. 2) Code to copy the data from the OTP region of the memory into RAM. 3) Calibration file carrying board specific data. The above files need to be present in the directory '/lib/firmware/ath6k/AR6003/hw2.0/' for the driver to initialize the chip upon enumeration. The files can be downloaded from the link specified at the following location: http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/ath6kl#Download This driver is only provided in the interim while we work on the mac80211 replacement, ath6k. Once the mac80211 driver achieves feature parity with the ath6kl driver, the ath6kl will be deprecated and removed from staging.
